This was my corner store as a kid. And for a brief time it was my beverage store as an adult… until I realized I how much they over charge their craft beers. Not to mention no one buys enough to keep a fresh stock in rotation. I was forced to buy a stone ipa not too long ago from there… Enjoy by date was 3 months! Prior to the date I was buying. And that’s not special ipa. I could imagine how long other smaller name ipas have been sitting. And with that visit I was short changed a buck. you think eh no biggy right. Well I go back in and politely explain I’m short a dollar. I understand the language barrier so I make it simple and sweet. What did I get back?.. yelling from the old man and hand gestures to get out. Never again. They need a remodeling and new owner. These people have been here too long and it’s just a rot of a liqour store. — pros: decent beer selection — cons: ^^ may be old. Rude costumer service. Always trying to sneak in extra charge(make sure you know how much your beer is and watch that old man on that old school register. He’s sneaky) Scummy looking shelves dirty. People trust me make the 10 minute drive and go to Garfield Liquor on Garfield & Whittier. Amazing beer selection great costumer service. A new age liqour store. That hasn’t been runned down by time and poor ownership.

I used to love Arroyo liquor. A few years ago they were my first go to spot. Then one day I went in with a 20 dollar bill, the older lady behind the counter must have thought it was a 10 because she short changed me 10 bucks. I told her and she said I was wrong, that i had given her a 10. I know how much money I have on me, I handed her a 20. Anyway, after that I stopped going for about a year or two. After that break, I felt that they had enough punishment and I’d give them a try again. They’re literally right down the street from me, so i wanted so bad to like them. Eventually this older lady’s true colors showed again. She will try to short change you. She will try to add hidden fees to your purchase. I remember leaving with a six pack of some IPA, 18 bucks poorer. But that same 6 pack will cost you 10 bucks anywhere else. They charge way too much for their craft beer. The price isn’t the only killer. The fact that they charge so much for their beer prevents them from selling the beer, so you have all these bottles just sitting in that fridge oxidizing and losing their quality. I can’t tell you how many beers I’ve gotten there that tasted flat and bad. Now days if I want to get some craft beer without getting ripped off I go down the street to grand view mini mart, they have a lot of the same beers, but don’t charge all of these crazy fees on top of it. Beer is priced at 3 dollars? That’s exactly what you pay. No crv, no atm fee, no hidden theft fee, none of that. And if you want that better hard to get craft beer? Take a trip to either Ramirez Liquor off Soto or Whittier Liquor Mart on Whittier. Those spots will definitely have you feeling like a kid in a candy store. Heck, if you want to stay more local, check out Garfield Liquor on Whittier and Garfield. They have a bunch of good stuff too.

Let’s make this simple. Pros: 1) Large selection of specialty beers: Aged Belgians, IPAs, etc… 2) Medium selection of specialty wines Cons: 1) Average price for typical import 6-pack — $ 10.99 This market is heavily overpriced — if you’re in need of specialty beers, badly, then buy here. Alternatives — Vito’s Liquor, Walmart, 7-eleven, anywhere else. Price point at this place is a joke, get ready to get your wallet raped.

A lot of different brews here, Chris makes sure to stock up on the goods from Belgium to Germany to American micro brews. This is my local liquor store and I love it. Every time I stop in I’m there for at least 20 minutes trying to decide what to try. If Chris is there and you start talking about beer then you can be there for an hour as he brings out some of his special brews for purchase. If you love beer and live in the area then there really is no other choice.

If you like finer quality beer as much as I do then you will probubly spend a few minutes here before finally deciding on what exactly to buy. They have so many types to chose from. From the exotic dark beer to the same thing you find at every liquor store. The red/white wine selection is also as big. The spirit selection is adequite as is the selection of the mixed cocktails. The staff is all family I believe and are very nice people. I have stocked up for many parties here and will continue to do so.

Who would have thought that tucked away in the back of this unassuming strip mall liquor store there would be a refrigerated beer selection that completely bitch slaps the selection at Bevmo? About two years ago a couple of friends told me about this place. When I finally walked into this dark, dank liquor store, passed all of the cheap toys, and dusty groceries, there it was… THE best cold beer selection in a retail store in Southern California. Not only did they have a complete selection of great breweries like Stone, Lagunitas, Moylans, Rogue, and Pizza Port(oh Pizza Port). They also have a very impressive selection of Belgian beers. Everything from Chimay, La Couffe, Orval, Buffalo, etc. The Family that owns Arroyo Liquor is extremely nice, and loves feedback. If you ask them to order a beer and promise you will go in to buy it on a somewhat regular basis they will have it the next time you are in. Although I have never bought wine there, they seem to have a large selection. I am just so impressed that a little mom and pop store like this would dedicate so much refrigerator space to craft brew, and not advertise itself as a specialty beer store. If you really like beer you need to check this place out, and support the family that supports craft brew. Also if you like porn, and playing the lotto this looks like it could be your spot as well.

As a beer lover, when I first walked in… the first thing that happened was salavation. What an impressive stock of fine beers this place has. I came in only wanting to pick up a bottle of beer … something cheap like a bottle of New Castle. I left the store with a crate of beer … crap. There goes 40 bucks. I picked up two belgiums and some special edition Stone Brewing Co Beers. I admit, this place is a little pricey but you can be sure to find some of the rarest beers here. He has some beers that sell at Bev Mo for less, but I was looking at his rarities. Great liquor store in the SGV/Rosemead area if you need a quick beer fix. Otherwise, some bottles are really marked up, such as delirium nocturnum for 13 dollars… ouch. Make sure you ask if he has any specials. Chris may pull you out a really rare bottle of beer… such as a Stone 6th Ann. Porter. Make sure you mention Unilocal as a referral =).
