PGA Golf Instruction With Yumi Chung

Yumi is an excellent instructor, very personable and funny. She has helped my game tremendously. I would highly recommend her for any level of golfer.

I had a refresher lesson with Yumi. After several months of practicing on my own, I realized my golf swings needed to be reviewed so I didn’t revert back to old habits. With the video analysis, we noticed that I was not extending my arms in the follow through.
I have been having trouble swinging the driver and woods. My driver swing and wood swing needed a lot of work and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

With the driver, Yumi pointed out the proper stance, the arm, the shoulder and many little things that I would not have noticed myself. Finally there was one very good driver swing, the best driver swing with the best distance I had.
With the wood swing, Yumi corrected the proper placement of the golf ball. Then, one word of instruction clears my understanding of the wood swing. I was able to swing the wood club cleanly. I actually lost confidence in swinging the wood club last Monday playing 18-​hole. At the last few holes, I used 5-​iron instead of 3-​wood. Now I have the confidence in using the wood.
One lesson with Yumi is worth far more than many hours of trials and errors at the driving range. Yumi is able to demonstrate the golf skills as well as articulate the intricacies of the golf skills. She is an excellent golf instructor.

Being an educator myself, I know a teacher’s patience is a key virtue that is appreciated by any student. Yumi exhibits this patience as well as dedication and passion for the intricacies of golf.
Yumi’s dissection of my golf swing with the use of the revolutionary iPad has given me a new perspective on my swing. Along with the use of video and Yumi’s thorough explanation, I can now analyze what my swing looked like before the lesson and after the lesson. Using video, Yumi pointed out my angles, movement, body position, head position, etc of my swing and how it compares to a pro golfer.
I was able to walk out of my lesson with a more focused approach on my swing. I know some of my habits now and how to work on simplifying my swing. Because I only had one lesson, I was given a lot of info but given just a few tips to really focus on without being too overwhelmed and over thoughtful.
Yumi has given me a new outlook on how to approach my swing, especially at the driving range. No longer will I go to the range thinking I know what to work on. I can now go to the range with a new, simplified approach to my swing.
I absolutely recommend Yumi Chung for your golf instruction!

I haven’t played golf since I was a kid so I decided to take a private golf lesson from Yumi to refresh my game. I kept on hitting the balls to the right but Yumi helped me fix my stance and how to move my hips and I started hitting the ball straight. She also did a really cool video analysis so I could see my swing and fix my posture. Yumi is also a golf pro so she knows what she is doing! Her lessons are very affordable and she is one of the best female golf instructors out there in the Los Angeles county!

My golf lessons with Yumi were spread through 5 weeks, 1 golf lesson per week. First golf lesson we got to drive the golf cart! I’ve never driven a golf cart before and it was incredibly fun! then off to work we went on the driving range. :) By the end of 5 weeks she took me out on the golf course and she taught me golf etiquette, pace of play, trying to teach me the things to not let me look like a fool. I ask a ton of questions and she answers them all very well!
My few lessons with her has been very fun. We laugh a lot and we have a great working chemistry together. Her lessons are great for couples, parent child, singles, business golf, beginners, advanced, intermediate players! I think her specialty is beginners since I’m a complete beginner and she’s been so good with teaching me golf.
Yumi is simply the best. She is patient, honest, down to earth, guides me step by step and with clear direction and helpful tips. She gives me her undivided attention for the entire hour and she goes over time a lot of the times. I can’t wait to golf with my friends now and my business clients!

She has cleared up so many confusions I had about the golf swing. She is great! I have been wanting to work with her for a long time but haven’t been able to make the time to come out and take lessons with her. She is very thorough and patient. She is an incredible instructor. Yumi is awesome! She is the best instructor I have ever had and I’ve had about 3 golf instructors in my life. Plus, I live in West LA, and drive a great distance to have her help me, that says a lot. Anyone that lives in West LA, Santa Monica, Culver City, knows my pain of driving far in LA, but its worth it.
She is good at what she does! I would recommend her to everyone. She really cares about your improvement and is enthusiastic about teaching. She gets super excited when I hit a good shot or when I’m doing well. She makes golf fun and challenging. She tries to not overwhelm me with information but is honest with me in the steps i need to take to get better.
I’ve been playing golf for fun for a long time. I can’t remember how many years. I used to play with my friends for fun majorly just to drink on the golf course. I’m trying to play golf with clients and I have to look like I know what I’m doing out there, so I went to go see Yumi. She works with full swing, short game, course lessons, she teaches etiquette on the golf course.
She has a lot of information about the game and really a good teacher. She shows me videos of my golf swing and what I look like, what I should be doing and what I am not doing… and what is causing me to not do what she wants me to do. Man, she’s good. I would invest in a golf course if I had the money :). I consider her a good friend because she has really good positive traits.
She has integrity, honest, and persistent. She checks in with me to make sure I’m doing well in the week and is very good at taking care of her students and keeps me motivated during the week. Currently, I’m taking lessons once a week with her to get better. I will continue to do so for I don’t know how long.

My grandpa kept bugging me to take golf lessons. I wanted to take lessons from a female golf instructor and they are very hard to come around. I found Yumi on Unilocal and she is wonderful. When I called her she was very professional, asked me about what my game was like. When I worked with her she was very detailed and attentive. She used her iPad and used video to show me what was happening in my swing. I signed up 5 lessons with her and I’m gonna get through those quickly. I’m serious about my golf game and motivated to improve. I think I found a really good instructor to work with and I’m super excited to get my golf game going.

Golf lessons with yumi is always a pleasure. I have taken a couple lessons with my husband dong. He is really into golf now and wants to play every day. Golf has been his favorite hobby for a while now. He goes and plays whittier narrows golf club and just recently asked yumi to order him a driver, woods, and a wedge. She has been gracious enough to take the time away from her busy-​ness to order clubs for him.
She has been very good at giving group lessons and ive been going out to take golf lessons from yumi frequently. She is one of the best in my book. My son has taken golf lessons with her since he wants to start playing golf with business clients.

Yumi is a great PGA golf instructor. She is fun to work with and always worth seeing.
I have been working with Yumi on my golf swing for over 10 lessons now. We had a break for a while because she was trying to play competitively. Her shoulder was in pain so she wasn’t able to further her playing career which is good for me. :)
I’ve been struggling to hit my balls solid. She has been working on my swing and especially the impact. She has a lot of knowledge regarding impact and how to get to impact. I understand that impact is everything. My golf club tend to bottom out a little different every time. Yumi has helped me to see why and helping me through it.
It’s a little frustrating in improving distance and consistency but I fully trust that if I do what Yumi shows me and tells me that I will become a lot more consistent. She uses video analysis to show me what I am doing in my golf swing.
I believe her golf lessons are solid! She is a great instructor. Work with her and you too will want to give her a 5 star Unilocal review as well.

As a total noob to golf, I needed an instructor to show me the way. I found Yumi on Unilocal!and promptly gave her a call. She was able to fit me in her schedule and I got a lesson with her right away.
She taught me the basics from putting to full swings in a very easy to understand kinda way. Additionally, she also offered video analysis, which was a neat application where you can actually see your swings and stance on a screen. I appreciated her patience with me while I asked her repetitive questions. I will definitely continue my lessons with her until I can confidently play by myself. Overall, highly recommended!

I’ve been playing golf for about 2 years now. I learned to play the game because my company hosts tournaments sometimes. I’ve been playing very seldomly… Maybe twice a year. But, I’ve wanted to improve my game for my health and exercise! I have taken lessons before but she’s hands down someone who I enjoy working with.
We have been working together for about a month. 5 lessons total currently and will continue to see her. She’s been very friendly, very easy to talk to, super patient… Since I’m not very good. She’s encouraging and I would like to recommend her to as many people as possible. I don’t often leave Unilocal reviews but since Yumi has asked personally, I’m writing one for her. I’m so glad to have met Yumi and her talents and skills are astounding. Sometimes it’s very humbling that I can’t do what she asked me to do. She uses video analysis v1 program and compares me to my first lesson or to her swing or a tour players golf swing.
It helps a lot since I need to see it to learn it. She’s been helping me with my short game too and we’re just about ready to take the lesson to the golf course. She can allow you to hit off grass or mats. She has options sometimes. Not all the time.
I want to again recommend her to everyone. She’s works with juniors to adults… All ages and gender. She has a lot of knowledge about the swing and can definitely help you improve.

I took a lesson with Yumi a while back and she is a great instructor. She not only knows how to listen to what you may be struggling with but also gives you a second by second analytical advice by videotaping you. I myself am a beginner so I had a hard time hitting the ball but by the end, I was hitting it pretty consistently (although it was going off to the sides), all on the first lesson. It seems to me that we spent a lot of time on the posture, which helped a ton.
I will definitely be going back shortly!

I just had my first lesson with Yumi. I’m brand new to golf, so she’s got her work cut out for her. Yumi is a very patient instructor, and a wealth of knowledge. She makes sure you understand what you need to do, but also makes sure you understand WHY you need to do it. I learned a lot and will definitely be going back to see her soon!

i took series of lessons from yumi because i wanted to work on my driver. i wanted more distance and control. after the first lesson, i fully understand what a golf swing should be abd worked towards achieving that. after just a handful of lessons i am hitting the driver better than before. she told me i would have certain struggles and was honest. she was extremely patient, kind, and a good instructor. she knows what she is doing, very knowledgeable |

I have taken a few golf lessons with Yumi and my swing has improved dramatically ever since. Yumi is a certified PGA pro and utilizes video tools to expose flaws and analyze every aspect of my golf swing.
Yumi is also very helpful in suggesting different methods to correct minor flaws of my swing, which includes stance, proper way of holding the club, wrist movements, etc. Now, I have more confidence in launching the ball further and straighter. In golfing, all you need is consistency and hitting the ball straight, right?
Each lesson lasts for about an hour but most of the time goes beyond the hour mark. I would definitely recommend all avid golfers take lessons from Yumi. Totally worth it!

Yumi Chung is a very professional instructor. She was able to identify and correct a major flaw in my stance and back swing that I didn’t even realize that was wrong. Yumi is skilled in the use of modern instruction methods thru media tools to help her students visually see though video replay and animation where the flaws are in their stance and swing.
Besides Yumi’s professional knowledge of the fundamentals of the game. Yumi has the ability to make the learning process enjoyable. I’m not real big on receiving instructions myself truthfully, but Yumi had a way of making lessons fun. I actually looked forward to going to my lessons with Yumi.

I’ve taken a couple lessons from Yumi and the experience has been very positive. She was working at another site previously and I had to stop due to work changes. I just started again now that she’s closer.
What I like about her is the meticulous attention and knowing how to make adjustments designed for you. In addition, she’s LPGA certified meaning she knows the game of golf that includes etiquette, proper rules, and taught under the right system not from one’s perceived notion of the game.

I took lessons from Yumi through referral from a friend. She was an awesome instructor. What made her awesome was the fact that she would try different methods to help you. She knows that the standard cook cutter approach doesn’t work for everyone and she is flexible and will work with you until you get it. If I didn’t travel so much for my work, I would continue to be getting lessons from her.
