Mi Paraiso

1^st of all we were seated by a 9 year old girl (who was the best one of the whole night) & she took our drink orders and brought it out to us right away. From then on the night was a disaster. I don’t even know who our waiter/​waitress was because we had different people approach us throughout the ordeal. One lady took our order after we had to get her attention to come, some guy brought it out and didn’t even ask if we needed anything else, and another lady eventually refilled my tea after I literally had to make noise with my straw, so they could see it had been empty for a while. The food was decent, but the service was ridiculous! We then were trying to get the bill, and were completely ignored while they were having a personal conversation with another table for a long time! We finally got up without the receipt and went to the register. Finally, someone came to attend to us, and then comes the bill. I had gotten chicken and my husband got mixed fajitas. I remember my order obviously cost less than his, but for ordering mushrooms they were charging us $ 3! for a tiny bit of mushrooms!, which made my meal cost more than his! They never even told us there was going to be that drastic of an additional charge or any additional charge at all! I told her $ 3 for a tiny serving of mushrooms are you kidding me?!! She then removed the charge for mushrooms, and we gave the tip to the little girl because she’s the only one who did her job correctly. We will never be returning.

I had lunch here today and ordered tacos, the shell’s were stale and I thought about complaining but decided not to. However… When I found a hair in the salsa, that really pushed me over. I did complain then and they comped my meal. I will not go back! Ever.

We arrived late on a Sunday night and the staff was still VERY accommodating! Margaritas were DELICIOUS! Salsa that came with chips was delicious, especially their green salsa! I judge a mexican restaurant on margaritas, salsa, tortillas, and beans – ALL of those at mi paraiso were excellent! Between four of us, we had a beef fajita chimichanga, mushroom chile relent, enchiladas verdes, and a fajita chicken burrito. I tasted a bite of everything and was impressed by it ALL! New favorite, for sure!

I love this place. The food here is the best Mexican Food I have had since I moved to Houston 5 years ago. Sure, the place is slow and there are only a couple of waiters, but the quality of food override it all. I go to Rosenberg twice a month and I always have lunch there now. The five-​star rating is for the food. Hands down.

This is a fairly new restaurant in a location that has been at least 3 different Mexican restaurants. It faces stiff competition from nearby restaurants which serve equally good but cheaper food. Mi Paraiso seems to be a family business with attentive staff but I can see the writing on the wall. When I visited, there was only other patron and you can’t make a living with a restaurant that serves two families an hour. This must be a haunted location as nobody seems to make it, no matter what.

I thought the good was very good! We at the chicken fajita tacos and were very surprised at how great the chicken was. The queso was actually very good… I was a little disappointed in the under seasoning of the beans and rice but that was the best chicken I have had in a while!

Enthusiastic mariachis on Friday. Food has fresh homemade taste, but oddly under-​salted for a restaurant the night we visited. Very typical Mexican restaurant menu with no surprises. Attentive, courteous service. Will probably go back again on a Friday because the mariachis are the one thing at Mi Paraiso that most other Mexican places in this area don’t have.
