We eat here often! Try the baked potato salad. Mmmmmm

Update, I’m back here 3 days later and although it was warmer outside than last time, it did seem like they turned down the A/C from artic blast to casually cool. Gold star!. I was indeed comfortable and not in need of a parka. And… I did taste the BBQ flavors in the meat this time. GREAT!

While visiting Texas on a business trip — I was treating a new acquaintance to lunch. When I asked around for the best family owned BBQ place I was instantly directed to This place. Upon driving into the parking lot(which was busy as ever with a drive thru) I could smell the wonderful aroma of BBQ which is always a good sign of things to come! The restaurant is somewhat cafeteria style and you take a tray and go up to counter to order your meat and sides. There is a helpful diagram explaining the types of cut you can request on the beef brisket — I opted for the lean cut which looked amazing. There definitely is something about having someone slice meat right in front of you — my mouth was watering! However when faced with the multiple options of sides I found myself confused — everything looked so tasty — so upon suggestion I went with the fried okra and homemade potato salad. For my beverage I felt it was inappropriate to order nothing other than the sweet tea — which was sweeeeeeet! There was a pickle bar next to the beverages that looked tasty too but looking at my tray and the amount of food on it — I decided to pass. My guest took some jalapeños to garnish her meal which looked like a good idea. There even appeared to be pickled carrots? New to me :) Being a New England girl BBQ is always a treat — and this meal did not disappoint. They give you a small bowl of hot BBQ sauce which complimented my beef brisket nicely — the meat was juicy and flavorful — the smokiness came through but didn’t overpower it. The homemade side of bread which had specks of cheddar in it was devine. This was the first time I’ve tried fried okra and it wasn’t bad at all — the small bites were not greasy and the okra tasted mild. Potato salad was spot on with tangy flavors and the chunks of potato were not to big or small(I hate big chunks of potato). Since this was self service we didn’t have a waitress but the bus boy was very busy picking up trays and cleaning up promptly. The tables were clean and provided a roll of paper towels for those that eat the meat with their fingers(ribs anyone?) Loved my experience here and I’d love to come back again to try more of those sides !!! Especially those mysterious pickled carrots.

The service was great! The food was excellent. The bar b que sauce had great flavor. Since this was my first time here I wanted to try a little bit of everything. So I tried the deluxe combo which comes with two sides. I got ribs, sausage, and brisket and for my sides I got beans and potato salad. The serving size is huge, I could barely finish half of my food. Definitely good for the price.

I have been craving BBQ for a few weeks now and I was in the area recently so I decided to stop by since it was a placed I bookmarked in the Fort Bend area. They were pretty fast with getting the order cut and plated. The prices are about the same as most places around Houston. The 3 meats and two sides was about $ 14 bucks. The 2 meats and two sides was about $ 11. The brisket here is very lean and moist and was sliced very thin. I really enjoyed the sausage here. It had a little kick to it like Chapel Hill sausage. The BBQ sauce was pretty tasty and warm.(I don’t like how it’s served cold at Rudy’s.) They have similar slice cheese bread like they serve at Goode company minus the jalapeño in it. The sides I choose were seasoned green beans that had bacon in it and these pretty darn good twice baked potatoes Au gratin. Oh yeah, they have good fresh brewed ice tea that was very refreshing.

Really amazing ribs. If there’s any reason to go here, go for the ribs. Sausage was very good too. Sides were interesting, good but not outstanding. Different twists, like the baked potato salad. The sauce I liked a lot too, I prefer a more vinegary-peppery sort of sauce. Difficult getting the BF to drive out to Rosenberg but it’s really not all that far given we’re already on the southwest side of Houston. Next time I go I think I’ll eschew the plates and get a pound of ribs and a couple sides to share.

We decided to try this place today not long ago. There was a dissatisfied customer in front of us saying he would never come here again he asked for some plates for his meal and he was told they do not have them. I asked for a sample of brisket no taste. We ordered the sausage and ribs I must say I was disappointed no taste beans were out the can the baked potato was bland. So no I want go back.

Amazing bbq. Was supervised we have been in town for a week for work and haven’t stopped here yet. Best bbq I have had in a while. People were friendly and the place smelled amazing. Great big meal for relatively no money. Ate like kings for under 30 $

Super nice staff and quick! Love the brisket and sausage. The sides they offer are very good and a good variety to choose from. Not sure why Swinging Door gets the customers over this place. The price is better and the dessert is awesome here!

My hubby and I found this place on this site. We were in the mood for BBQ and thought we would we give it a try. The food is fantastic! They ran out of the baked potato by the time I ordered my food. So, I ordered the ¼ pound of sliced beef with a potato salad and green beans. I also asked for BBQ sauce. All of it was delicious! The only thing that I didn’t like was the staff talks REALLY fast with an accent but they were mostly nice. I have a hearing loss and my hearing aids can’t handle fast talking people. LOL!

By far the best and more tender. It’s our go to staple when we are in Rosenberg and they are super nice to their customers. They have bar of condiments. We love the jalapeño bread. It’s amazing! Easy to get in and out. Lots of options you can’t go Wrong. We eat the 2 meat all the time and pick different sides almost every time. My favorite is the potato casserole. Delicious!

I came here from Southern California about a year ago while visiting a friend, and I vowed to come back. I have returned. This place beats any BBQ place I’ve had in CA. I was planning to have a combo dinner like I did last time but my friends all convinced me to get a deluxe otherwise I wasn’t man enough lol. So I did. Ended up ordering the following: pork ribs, sliced beef, smoked sausage as my meats and macaroni and cheese(it’s on on your website menu!) and baked potato salad for my sides. The pork ribs was tender and smoother than smooth can be. The sliced beef was great texture and the sauce just made it even better. The smoked sausage was one of the best sausages I’ve ever had. I couldn’t just choose one meat as my favorite. I should’ve substituted one of my meats with chicken just to have more of a variety. The macaroni and cheese was alright, I was already full overall for me to enjoy it. The baked potato salad was the best side dish of any thing I’ve ever placed into my mouth. I wish I just had two of those. There’s just something so buttery and addiciting about Schuzle’s baked potato salad. The verdict: Smoked sausage: 4.5÷5 stars. Great size, great shape Sliced beef: 4.7÷5 stars. Tender and tasty Pork ribs: 5⁄5 stars. Eat these when you come here Macaroni and cheese: 3⁄5 stars. Good but nothing out of the ordinary Baked potato salad: 5⁄5 stars. Side order of Heaven I vow to come back here again when I visit the area.

Living in Texas as long as I have I still have yet to find amazing BBQ, however, this one will cure a craving for it. I had brisket, chicken and sausage. I would only order the brisket again. The homemade bread I really enjoyed, it’s cheesy and different than your typical white bread. I enjoyed the BBQ sauce as well. tangy and not overly sweet. The sides were ok, there’s hype over the hot baked potato salad, I think I just don’t enjoy hot mayo… I would return and try some other items.

Some of the best BBQ anywhere. The sauce is the best! I have been going to this BBQ place for years. Of all the BBQ places in Texas that I’ve been to, this place is in the Top Three! Some of the fancier places make the place all cute with décor. This place is simple with some of the best BBQ anywhere. The sauce is excellent as well as the sides.

The brisket was very good, somewhere between fatty and lean, which is where I like it. Could use more smoky flavor, but not bad at all. The ribs were middle-of-the-road, not quite tender enough overall. The potato salad and cole slaw were good(potato salad was better) and you get your usual pickles and onions that were nice and fresh. The jalapeño bread was good, but I called it cheese bread because there’s no jalapeño to be seen or tasted. Still, it’s good bread. My wife said the okra was delicious(I don’t like okra). I had a bit of her ham, and it was good. She liked the turkey as well. Service was quick and the place is clean and well kept. A good BBQ stop.

The BBQ is good, not knock your socks off but consistently good. The sides are tasty, my favorite being the baked potato salad. The family restaurant next door has a tasty hamburger but they are VERYVERY slow. They have this system of you ordering through drive-thru and then parking out front for 15 minutes for your 1 item order.

I love this place for it’s huge portions of basic, good cue and friendly people. $ 9ish will get you a two meat combo and two sides. Add a sweet tea for a couple bucks and you have one very filling meal. No, this BBQ is not gonna win any cook-off championship. It’s not dry rubbed with secret exotic spices or served in a pseudo bunkhouse decorated restaurant. But it is damn good meat with some tasty thick sauce. The sliced beef has that much desired red ring, the ham is moist and tender, the sausage is sliced pretty thick and pops nicely when you bite into it. It’s consistent and served up with hungry people in mind. I always get my sauce on the side because their fantastic cheesy, peppery bread is a side in and of itself when you dip it in that stuff! Yum… and double yum. And the sides? Yeah, you could make a great meal out of these. I love their black eyed peas. They are served cold in a vinegary juice with little green pepper pieces and onion. Love love this! And I usually get the cucumber salad. Yeah, I like vinegar. But their fried okra, mashed taters and mac n cheese are great comfort food too. Grab your own silver and some onion, peppers and pickles once you get through the cafeteria style line with your entrée. Grab a table, get your drink and dig in. It’s a mom and pop place. Been there forever. Run by some of the friendliest folks you will ever encounter. They have a drive through if you just wanna grab it and go home. It seems we go here a lot when we have to be out that way for any reason. It’s not that far off Hiway 59 either. So if you are traveling through I would recommend a quick stop for some sweet tea and a plate of cue.

Realized I never followed-up with the update. The lady(possibly owner) came to the house on-time, prepared, and with all the utensils, plates, napkins, serving tools, etc. Very organized, courteous, and provided a great presentation. The guests were thrilled with the food(bbq meats, bbq sauce, potato salad, beans, onions, jalepenos, bread) and even asked about them months after the event. Those guests have gone on to make recommendations to their corporate leaders at work to recommend using Schulze because they felt that confident that it could hit a home run with the execs in their company. Anyways, consider using them. Definitely worth it and will need to use their services again when we have a function that calls for bbq.
