They Have taken some things off ther menu and added others(frog legs) but this place is still the best for what you pay. the food is a bit on the bland side, but for 7.95 a person you are not going to get top of the line. we still love this place services is good always clean. we will be back up there again when we go to Sac

So, I always go here on Sunday to eat with my boyfriend, because he’s the one that Made the Big-O– Salt water fish tank there. And Im so Proud of him… Anywho… I only come here to eat the Crawfish, since they always have them fresh and its only available during dinner time M-F and all day during Saturday and Sunday. I also come here for the oysters, clams and the big king crab legs. Yummo. For $ 13 a person here on the weekends, no buffet with that kind of food can beat that. So if you like seafood then this your your place. Also try the Korean BBQ, its raw but theres a cook there that will grill it right then and there for you. I wouldnt try: Sushi– NEVERFRESH! go to MIZU or Arigato. =) Pastries SUCK PIZZA– Bland and Gross looking

The place is large and well decorated. There is plenty of seating and space between tables. Most Chinese buffets I’ve been to have horrible seating(arrangement, space, comfort, etc). This place is great in this regard. It was very clean, and even though I’ve learned not to expect it in most restaurants, even the bathrooms were remarkably clean. The service was very good, very polite and quick to refill drinks and take used dishes away. However, I can’t give this place more than one star. Absolutely nothing I ate was good. I tried things from every bar and did not like anything. If I had to say something was good, I guess the spring rolls and dim sum weren’t bad, but they weren’t enjoyable. I felt sick the rest of the day after eating here. It’s not the worst restaurant I have been to, but the quality of the food does not justify the price. A side note about someone finding hair in their food: grow a pair and get over it. It happens.

Bland food. Nasty. Greasy. NOTHING was good. Their jello and ice cream was ok, but who can screw that up? Bad sushi, bad calamari, chicken on a stick was OK. yuck! Not going back.

This is a relatively new restaurant. The restaurant was really clean and nicely decorated. This is a Chinese food buffet, which typically doesn’t go well together honestly. Chinese food, buffet, yeah. So we decided to try this new place and see if it broke the stereotype that Chinese food buffets are not that great… So like I said earlier, the place was very clean and it was about half-full, which were good signs. They had several types of food, including all sorts of Chinese food and even sushi. We ate the usuals: fried rice, chow mein, seafood, general chicken, etc. None of it really stood out. We both tried the sushi and it pretty much reinforced that good sushi doesn’t belong in a buffet. The quality of the food wasn’t worth writing home about. There was a problem as well. There was hair in the food! Not sure if this is a fluke or not, but that’s a big no-no sign for us. Pretty disgusting and I don’t think we will be going back because of that. We didn’t bother complaining, but that’s just the way we are. The other nail in the coffin was that it was pretty expensive. If I remember correctly, it was around $ 20 per person. For that amount, you’re better off going to Thunder Valley and having their buffet!

It’s a very decent buffet and when I mean decent, it’s probably one of the nicest, well maintained buffets that I’ve been to for the price I paid. I went there with my husband on a Friday afternoon for lunch. I believe we paid $ 7.99 per person. It’s very spacious, nice staff, and most importantly very clean! Also had nice décor. I was amazed at the sushi selection because most of the buffets I’ve been to within the same price range had very little sushi selection. The main entrees are your usual items such as french fries, pizza, seafood medley, fried rice, regular rice, etc. I was a little bummed out that they didn’t have coconut shrimp. However, I was extremely happy when I saw that they had fresh siomai! It seems like every buffet I go to, the siomai has been left sitting in that steamer for SOLONG that the edges have actually started browning. They also had a salad bar that seemed to have good selection. Right next to the sushi station was a mongolian beef station? I think they should improve their dessert selections a bit though.

This place has a good selection, but the buffet line is not even a line! People are going different directions, cutting in front of you, and bumping into your plates like mad crazy cattle! Overall, it was decent… the fried crab with shell was delicious and sushi was good!

I usually hate buffets, but I’ll make an exception here. Had a few lunches here, and never disappointed, and, er, always full(well, duh!). Maybe because of the continous crowd, the food was always turning with fresh updates to the steam tables. I’ve so far avoided the american food, sushi and deserts, but everything else has been hot, fresh and very flavorfull. Also, dont miss the fresh grilled meats. Very clean place and restrooms. Attentive service, & easy parking. Lunch seems to be a better value. OK, one more taste before we leave…

Out of all the buffets Ive been to this is probably the cleanest one I’ve seen I think that a lot of people would like this place the manager is very nice as well. I think he does a good job at interacting with the people who come into the store. I’m still not a fan of buffets but if you are I’d go here… but for some reason every time my stomach never agrees with it…

Dramatization of conversation with BF about this place: Him: «So what do you think this place USED to be?» Me: «Uh… a sushi buffet?» Him: «Really?» Me: «Yeah.» Him: «I’m thinking more like… furniture store.» Me: «No… sushi buffet. This has always been a sushi buffet.» Him: «Then why is it so fancy in here?“j Me: «I don’t know…» At that point I wasn’t about to ask our waitress, «Hey, did this used to be a furniture store?» Besides, although I could barely comprehend how a buffet could be so fancy-schmancy inside, I wanted to believe it was like that on purpose. I mean, why else would any self-respecting Asian buffet not have the ever-so-cost-effective bananas in red goo?

3.5 Stars… Went for weekday lunch, $ 7.95. Drinks, including hot tea, are $ 1. Nice variety of food for the price with food and sushi and a few dim sum offerings. There’s even a grill station where they will grill to order at lunch time. I also liked the Chinese dessert soup. Comfortable dining space with a modern feel. The buffet stations were constantly being tidied. Plates were cleared frequently. Will definitely be back.

for a buffet, it was great. first of all, it’s cheap. about $ 10/pp for lunch on sunday. plus, we got a bottle of toasted head chardonnay for $ 18. second, there’s a large selection of food of good quality. there’s sashimi(seared tuna, tilapia — this one was frozen and not good, sake — yum!, maguro) and sushi(from various nigiri to about 12 different oversauced rolls). king crab and prime rib. made to order grill, including chicken, short ribs, salmon and jumbo prawns which were amazing. a variety of chinese dishes, including dim sum and various soups. fruits and salad. dessert. third, service was nice and friendly. plus, it was clean.

It was my father’s birthday so we book party of 16. They accommodated and we got seated rather quickly; their service was great and attentive. The food though was a letdown; they were grossly under flavored and not as fresh as it should be. Some of the dumplings were very dry and tough. I wish sushi could be more selection and a little bit fresher. Though their restaurant is very nice and clean that’s nice. Overall, service was great; I wish I could say that same thing about their food.

Besides the Moonstar Buffet and Beijing Buffet. Eastern Max Buffet of Roseville is now one of my favorites when it comes to buffets. They have alot of Seafood and different styles of Beef and what, I really like the best was the Prime Rib. And not only that. When the very first time, I walked into the Eastern Max Buffet this place is just as big as the Moonstar Buffet and the Beijing Buffet.

Never again. I can’t believe I took one of my dearest friends here and we paid nearly $ 16 each plus tip for such bland food. We got there around 4pm on Saturday, one of the first people to show up for dinner. It wasn’t crowded at all yet and the service was great. Waiters are constantly offering to refill our drinks and picking up our plates. Nothing really stood out that made my mouth water. My husband had sushi that had really great presentation but he didn’t mention much else about it. He said after two bites of salmon, he didn’t want it anymore. We had prime rib, fries, sugar roll, and chicken to name a few … everything tasted average. I think I’ll just stick to my usual buffet place in Citrus Heights off of Greenback Blvd.

We were there the same night as Antoinette, a couple of hours later. We just came back from Tahoe and didn’t want to get home to cook and it’s 8:00 pm. Everything is as she said, bland, bland, bland. Some are worse than bland. The prime rib was dry, worse than what I make. The sushi is much less than Mizu in terms of taste and variety. The space is open and clean and inviting, and the wait staff is very efficient. Other than that, the stroll through the Nugget market next door was the high light of the evening.

I give this one a 3.5. I went during lunch on a Saturday, and it was fairly busy– which means the food should be somewhat fresh. And it was. It just wasn’t anything special and impressive. No particular dish really stood out except for the french fries, fried chicken wings, and sugar roll/chinese donut. The waiter gave the bill before we had a chance for dessert. I ignored it until after 3 more rounds. I appreciate their cleanliness though.

I have to disagree with the previous Unilocaler… Asian buffets can be good and this is not bad. For 8 bucks at lunch… you can’t ask for much better. I mean compare it to any Chinese restaurant or fast food Japanese place you go to. What are you going to get for 8 bones? Exactly, «Bones.» For dinner its $ 13 dollars and they bring out king crab and prime rib. Not bad… just prepare for a little wait. Eastern Max Buffet is clean and offers a large variety. The customer service is good and the food is decent. This is coming from a Chinese man.

No Asian Buffets are ever good and this is NO exception, spend the extra few bucks and go to a non buffet restaurant please. 99% of the food is bland and boring. If you are used to bland and boring because the wife and/or mom is a horrible cook then this is the place for you.

For having only gone for one visit I liked this place a lot. It’s different for a buffet cause they have BBQ meats… however the salmon was not very fresh tasting… They also have Mongolian BBQ. My kids did not like it as much as Mizu or Asian Seafood Buffet but I would say it is the best of the bunch… but I do know I get tired of the same buffet so it is probably just that it was new and different for me. Very new and nice décor and most important very clean. Try it!
