So after getting the best cut of my life at a different location(you can check my history to see where), I procrastinated and decided to come here because it was my mom’s birthday the next day and I needed to look fresh for the woman that put me into the world. I called them up probably an hour before close, the dude said if I left now he could squeeze me in, which I really appreciated, so I left right away. THECUT: It was bad. The kind of haircut I get is a modern pompadour, but instead of having a a complete undercut, I usually get a fade(some call it a contour, or a blend) from the hairline so that the hair on the entire side of my head doesn’t stick out when it grows out(I have asian hair). I tried to articulate this to the barber as best as I could and said I wanted it to fade to the skin, but I want the hair near the hairline(I had a hard part) to be longish so it lays flat. But he ended up shaving the entire side of my head(not to the skin, but damn close) and giving me a blend on the other side, so I ended up with a way too short, asymmetrical haircut. Granted, it was a very modern, bold look, just not what I wanted. An experienced barber would have given me input and realized that a growing undercut with my thick, black, straight Asian hair will look very untidy when it grows out. THEAFTERMATH: I’m a laid-back guy sometimes; I just wanted a cut so I gave him a $ 5 tip on top of the $ 20 cut, even if I wasn’t satisfied and even if I was never going to come back. However, as soon as I got home my roommate commented on how bad it looked compared to the previous haircut. No worries, I’ll grow it out and get it back to normal. I got the cut in early March, It is late July and my hair STILL isn’t the length at the sides it was before I got it cut. I know this because even though I went back to my old barber and got a blend, the side on my hair still sticks out a bit unless I flatten it vigorously with lots of pomade. It probably won’t be till August until it’s back to how it was precut. CONCLUSION: Only reason I don’t give this place 1 star is because I don’t want to sour this place being the only review and being picky about my hair. They still have great hours and the barber was flexible and gave me a cut right before close. Plus the staff was laid-back and cracked a few jokes. If you want a different cut you’ll be alright. My friend came with me that day and he said his was«alright». One more positive thing: the number on this page was actually the owner’s personal number, so she was helpful and directed me to the right number. I won’t be coming here again, but it might be right for you.
