This is based on their brunch & beer selections: haven’t had dinner there yet. We went to brunch for the first time today. I was in there a few weeks ago filling up a growler, and noticed that they had a buffet. I went back to look at what they had, and made a mental note to come back for Sunday Brunch some time. My wife and I got there around 12:30, and only had a ten minute wait. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered my usual«Two-Pull», which is their version of a Black & Tan, but with their own brews. There is something about their brewing technique that gives their beers a very smooth finish, unlike other brew-pubs I’ve been to. The Two-Pull is delicious, and while we were eating, I had them refill my growler with it. The brunch buffet is pretty extensive, more involved than any buffet I’ve had in the area. Parmesan Chive scrambled eggs, creamy hash browns, bacon & sausage, biscuits and gravy, as well as a Creole chicken pasta, ravioli with sausage, roast chicken with peppered corn, prime rib, turkey, mashed potatoes, black bean chili, and salad. I sampled a little of everything and it all was just stellar! The place was packed, but they were well-staffed, and we always knew where our waiter was. One warning: the brunch is occasionally insanely busy. It seems to coincide with big, hit movies playing next door at the AMC theater. Also holidays — I decided this would be my Father’s Day brunch since next weekend it’s likely to be crazy. Really cannot complain about the quality of the food & beer for brunch. The price is just a little steep for my wallet, brunch is $ 15+ per seat. Drinks are a little on the high side, too(they gotta recover the costs of that huge buffet somehow), and my wife and I got out of there for about $ 55 before tips. So, to paraphrase Cookie Monster, for me Granite City is a «sometimes food». If I had the resources, I’d eat there every Sunday after church!

Dinner and service is great. Lunch service is terrible. Avoid if you’re on a rush or need to get back to the office.

I went here with a friend of mine for the first time. Was a Thursday evening and was decently packed so I would definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re going in the weekend. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgable. They are a microbrewery and have a pamphlet with their brews each perfectly described. I sampled the Bennie and ended up getting a glass(20 oz for $ 5 so not bad). Tried the prime rib sandwich and it was delicious but a little messy so I wouldn’t exactly recommend getting it on a first date lol I also got sweet potato fries on the side that were heavenly. Because we told our waitress it was our first time here she gave us each a voucher for a free appetizer and a cookie to sample their deep dish cookie dessert. It definitely worked and I will be making my way back very soon! Tl;dr: delicious food, great customer service, and amazing drinks.

This is where I go when I want a Sunday brunch buffet. Sure, brunch has exploded in the past few years, and almost every restaurant does some brunch thingy. There might be better places out there, but here I can eat three plates of the same thing for one price. Then go «walk it off» while spending more money at the mall. What are your options? There’s too many to list. I skip most of the items and fill up on cheesy hash browns, sausage, bacon, and prime rib. Just a big ol’ meat fest. When I’m feeling extra glutenous, I finish the meal off with a warm cinnamon roll. Service is always good. You may want to make reservations for brunch, they can get busy. There’s ample parking in the mall lot. You’re still most likely parking way the hell out there though.

Wonderful. Worth the long wait. Their shrimp tacos are divine, and the French onion soup tastes like grandma’s.

I visited this location every other month for our family dinner… Always enjoyed food… Especially my children… Food food and food service.

Positives: Server(Kelsey) was super friendly, food was delicious, atmosphere was nice! Negatives: The front of house is rude; they saw our group but just continued chatting with one another. The past 2 times I came here, front of house people were nowhere to be seen. We waited a couple minutes and just left.

Terrible experience tonight. Went here for first time for a birthday celebration. The food is not that great. Everything that was ordered was very under seasoned and some came out cold. When the food comes out it should come out all at the same time. The server staggered all the orders out in 5 minute gaps. The alcoholic drinks we ordered did not taste good at all. Service was just not that good. Abbi was our server tonight. Not ever going back

Granite City is a great place to go for Happy Hour, Booze and Brunch. The restaurant is clean, decorated well and has great service(busier on weekends). That being said, the food is overpriced when it comes to quality. I’ve been to Granite City quite a few times throughout the years and the food is generally adequate, but not great. However, I went to Granite City last week and I was unimpressed at best. The food was loaded with salt and not in a good way. Don’t get me wrong, I love salt and I would cry if I was told I had to cut down on my salt consumption. But I don’t like my food salty to the point where I feel like I’m licking a salt stick and can no longer taste any other flavor but salt. My beer cheese soup, salted pretzel appetizer(yes, I realize there’s supposed to be salt on this) and my sweet potato tater tots were ungodly salty. My boyfriend and I split these items and we didn’t finish any of them. My boyfriend is typically a human garbage disposal and won’t leave a crumb so this is unheard of. By the time we go to our entrees and had the sweet potato tater tots, we each had one and stopped at the first bite. Typically I don’t say anything to the waiter since they’re not the cook, but I was gurgling water and popping breath mints in my mouth half way through the meal. Once I let the waiter know what the problem was, he apologized and took the tater tots off of the bill. I appreciate the gesture and I hope that the waiter let the chef know why the food was so hard to digest. After my latest dining experience, I won’t be running back to Granite City anytime soon. If I want a meal loaded with salt, I’ll make a meal and let my four year old cousin go wild with a container of salt.

Very good Cuban sandwich. Also my wife had a ginger sesame chicken lettuce wrap that she said was excellent. However the tortilla chips were stale, but were replaced when we asked for fresh chips.

Service was good, food was ok, nothing to knock my socks off. Lettuce was wilted on my burger and it was done too rare — I asked for well-done. They seem to really want us to come back, offering first-time cookies and a complementary card for our next visit. We didn’t try the beer(both feeling under the weather a bit). This place is ok; the vibe is kind of an upscale Bennigans. Overall, though, lunch was a nice time.

Went here for dinner. While the food was good it quickly got very crowded and loud. I did love the taste of the Idaho nachos I felt that the Ruben I had could have been better. The inclusion of a full cole slaw inside of the sandwich was a little off. Yet I attribute that to my dislike of most slaw in general. All in all it was not the atmosphere I would pay 10 buck for a sandwich to eat at.

For a brewery with a limited choice menu I would rate this place 4 stars considering their quick service and most importantly the limited choice menu and quality of good. Ordered fish tacos and peppercorn burger with fries with their light beer. Wow! Fresh, Flavorful & Fabulous! Burger was cooked as I wanted medium, could taste the butter in the toasted bun! Onion straws and bacon added to the taste. For a quick stop before a movie this placed wowed me.

Pretty standard chain dining experience, with consistently good food. Clearly whoever designed the menu shares my love of avocados, so that’s a plus. It’s nothing to write home about, but the food and service are reliably good, and the location is convenient(right next to the Rosedale Mall and adjacent to the AMC theater). Major props to the sweet hostess on our most recent visit who swooped in to get snacks and milk for my two-year-old twins when she saw they were getting antsy(our server was pretty busy). It really helped our dining experience go smoothly!

After a couple hours of fun and people watching at Rosedale, we decided to stop in at GC and have a bite to eat. No wait Sunday around 1ish, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy the mall was and the fact we needed a Sherpa to find my car. Get seated in the dining area and have a solid view of the Vikes game going on. Which, strangely didn’t make me lose my appetite. Server was very polite and attentive, went through the specials and the brewing situation. We opt for the bbq chicken flatbread as an app. I roll with the steak salad while she rolls with the prime rib french dip thing. Water is filled throughout our wait, then the flatbread arrives. Very well done flatbread. Just enough BBQ for sweetness and the cilantro was spot on. Only issue is the use of red onion. Something I’ll never understand is why you’d insist on throwing onions on a flatbread like this. Totally takes away from the flavor of everything else. But, onions aside, it’s a very well done dish and I’d definitely order it again. Steak salad arrives and it’s served how I really do not like. In one of those stupid half cocked bowls that makes cutting the steak next to impossible without flinging salad everywhere. All that is moot considering I didn’t get a steak knife and attempting that feat with my butter knife would have only made my date laugh more at me than I intend. I wait, get a steak knife, and dig in… or try to. Good crispness to the veggies and I’m a huge fan of the blue cheese crumbles in the salad. The steak was cooked medium rare perfectly. Balsamic vinaigrette was an ok pairing for the salad. I was hoping for something a bit more on the specially crafted side, instead of a basic balsamic, but, it worked I suppose. A solid salad overall, just change dish. French dip was very solid though. Solid baguette to bring it all together, really thin sliced beef, and the jus wasn’t too salty. Big fan of the provolone on there too. A very well done french dip. Overall, a solid mall destination for lunch. Considering the alternatives, it may get another visit from me in the future.

I want to like brunch buffets… I really, really do. I’ve been to the $ 15 Granite City all-you-can-eat brunch twice, now, and each time I wish I would’ve gone somewhere else. Now, I’m not saying this because the food was bad — the food was fine*(*brunch is a life changing experience and should never be just«fine») — it’s simply because, despite having the option to eat all I can, none of the options were really worth overdoing myself on. You have your omelettes(which are custom made right in front of you, I will give them that), your pasta, and bacon; things everyone would seemingly want and get at a brunch buffet. My question, however, is where is the Eggs Benny? If I’m paying $ 15, I’d like a larger brunch selection versus a breakfast and lunch divide. This may seem harsh, and if you’re into pasta salad with a side of hash browns, then by all means, this brunch is for you. But if you want that love child that is brunch, where your burger is in the middle of two waffles(does this exist? Because this sounds incredible) and other strange menu items such as that, then I’d recommend somewhere else. Granite City, believe me when I say it’s not you, it’s me. For now, I’ll be sticking to your lunch and dinner menu, only.

I know GC is a chain but I actually really enjoy my experience every time I go here. The portions are huge, the menu has a decent number of unique options, and the brunch is on point. Service is great too. They really know what they are doing over there. I’m not a beer drinker but i usually go with someone who is so I would recommend the beer sampler… it comes with a crazy amount of beer for like $ 5. My food recommendations for GC are the peppered maple bacon pizza(sweet, savory, salty deliciousness on an thin flatbread), waffle fries with seasoned sour cream, asian shrimp appetizer(sweet and spicy glaze), and the overlake sandwich(turkey and bacon sandwich with garlic aioli). The Chicken bruschetta salad is a beast of a dish that is very nice to share with a group of friends. Oh yeah, every item on their brunch menu is fricken mouth watering, especially the breakfast hash browns. I could literally eat gallons and gallons of those. Their caramel rolls are also worth the $$$ brunch price. Overall, GC is great place to stop if you’re looking for a hearty meal after a long day of shopping or a couple hours in the theater.

Granite city is actually a pretty good spot to catch a game and grab some grub. Came here to eat, drink a beer and catch the MNF game and they didn’t disappoint. Ate the Idaho nachos, which were awesome and had the avocado bacon grilled cheese sandwich, mmmm. Flushed it down with a couple of pints on Octoberfest. Can’t complain…

I am a picky person when it comes to handing out 5 star reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars plus in my book. Everything was done perfectly in regards to service from the top down, the timing of my order prep and the quality of the food. Splendid. Will eat here again, soon I hope. I went back here a couple more times since the first visit and the last time I went will be the last time I eat here. They served me a large thimble of pico de gallo with a small basket of chips. Skimpy portions do not earn my business. The price is not my main concern, but rather how I am treated. I am not cheap and I do not like being treated cheap!
