So, as a medical type facility, aren’t they supposed to have UBER attention to detail? My orthopedic surgeon wrote me a prescription for a LEG sleeve, as I just had surgery on my LEG(read: NOTKNEE). I go to Hanger to get said sleeve. I am seen by a «specialist», he measures around above my knee. I’m sitting there going. hmmmmm…ok I have scars from knee surgery from 10 years ago, but my scrip says«compartment syndrome» as my diagnosis. This, my friends, is my lower leg, not my knee. He comes back with a KNEE sleeve. I ask him how this is supposed to help my leg(which by the way, still has bandages over my incisions, so it’s pretty damn obvious what I just had surgery on. He says it helps with the compression etc. I go and pay for it, and I’m like«ummmm, so… you realize I didn’t just have knee surgery yes?» Both the front desk lady, AND him say«oh but your prescription says neoprene sleeve». Yes, but it also says COMPARTMENTSYNDROME. So they take back the knee sleeve, and go searching through some catalog, totally bewildered. They say they have to order it for me, fine. Thank god it’s the same price. I come home to a message that they actually HAVE it in stock. HELLO I JUSTHADLEGSURGERY I can’t go driving back and forth! Anyway– finally got it, and yes… it helps my leg. But I guess I should thank my surgeon for the idea, and not this place.

They are awesome to work with. Sergio is great with children. I have a Hanger closer to my home but I go out of my way to go to this location because of how great they are with my family.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to this location, but as I was cleaning out my office I came across prior documentation on a problem I had with this office. Since they have no reviews, I felt it’s best that I start one. Of course my issue revolved around their billings. Being in healthcare(dental) myself I’m very aware how billings works though this is a medical setting I expected Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics to be on the ball. They were not. Prior to being seen, I specifically asked their front desk person what my copayment would be and was told our insurance through CalPers would cover it. Guess what? They coverered nothing! Received no assistance from this office, nor did I receive any assistance from their corporate office in Bethesda, Maryland. It wouldn’t have bothered me had I been presented a treatment plan of the services to be rendered, but I was like the blind leading the blind — wasn’t quoted any amount verbally or written. Their prosthetist/orthotist was excellent and I had no complaints with their clinicl staff.
