They always have what I’m looking for and the staff is knowledgeable about the products that I need, which I really appreciate because I’m way too picky about my products.

Came in here on a Saturday to pick up a few items. The Sales Staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, without being too pushy. Planet Beauty is like a boutique hybrid of Ulta/Sephora/Beauty Supply Stores. They also have lots of travel size items, which I love because sometimes it’s better to invest in the small size products when trying something new. I will definitely be returning again!

So sweet and helpful. While I know they are trying to sell stuff, Renee genuinely helped me solve a problem with my dry cuticles. The solution she found cost all of 6 dollars, and it turns out she recommended a lotion I already use to top off the recommended treatment. AND I finally found a resource for the lotion I started using years ago and have never been able to find, so I bought some. It’s like Sephora, only helpful, not snobbish, and priced for humans instead of Beverly Hills housewives.

What I don’t like about this store is that you can’t return a lot of different items. No returns on Kerastase, for example, which is annoying because it’s very difficult to find Kerastase products, so I have to buy them here, however, not everything from that line is worth the price. Anyway, some of the ladies who work at this location are not the most friendly, but the woman with the pink hair is incredibly sweet and helpful. I would give her 5 stars and the store itself 2 stars.

I probably won’t be coming back here after my experience today. So I shopped at this store when it was still located on the upper level, and passed by it at it’s new location downstairs today when I was shopping. When I went to ring up my item I asked the associate if she could look me up for my membership I had signed up a long time ago seeing how I didn’t have my card on hand with me that day. I’m pretty sure that’s when the rudeness on her part began. She stated«we aren’t sephora, we don’t have membership cards». I told her I was given planet beauty card when I signed up over a year ago that gave me 20% off on my purchase and that the worker even gave me a free nail polish on my birthday for being a member. She stated that she’s been working there for years and that they have never given cards or discounts or birthday freebies. At this point I was a little taken back by her tone and I was confused so to clarify I asked her if this is the same company that was located upstairs, she turned on a patronizing tone and said«yes we’re the same one, I’m happy for you but we don’t do that». By this turn in time I just wanted to pay for my stuff and leave and that’s what I did. When I got outside I dug through my wallet to double check I wasn’t being lucid and long behold I found my planet beauty membership card that stayed in bold print«20% Off VIP membership». Went back in to show her the card and all she had to say«oh that membership! Yeah we used to do those». Oh now you remember? Mind you I didn’t get an apology or discount applied. Associate«MKDAN14» needs training in customer service because her attitude and treatment was not needed nor appreciated.

Okay, this place totally deserves an updated review. After I posted my original review on Unilocal,Katie from Planet Beauty got in touch with me. She went out of her way to find a hair dyer that would work for my hair type. The store doesn’t typically carry this specific dyer so she had it shipped to the store specifically for me and she emailed me when it came in. I was able to exchange my blow dryer for the new one with the discount applied. When I went in, I was nervous it might be awkward but the manager Kim was friendly, and she let me test the heat and speed of the dryer and threw in a nail polish. I’m really happy the company took note of my review and they really went above and beyond to make it right. They really did a great job. Hopefully they make some internal changes about the way their exchange policy is stated and enforced. If I am at the mall, and I need something, I’ll shop there. I went to this location for the first time on 4th of July and I will definitely be back again. Very clean, organized store. I was getting sick of not being able to find what I wanted at Sally’s Beauty, let alone trying to get one of the employees to help me, so this place left a great impact on me. Upon entering, an esthetician asked me what I needed help finding(which was a waxing kit) and she directed me to all of their waxes. Gigi is what I decided upon, since you can really never go wrong with that brand, and I checked out the store a little before paying at the register. I cannot for the life of me remember the cashier’s name(probably because I was too focused on her awesome makeup) but she really made the experience. Very funny, talked to me on a personal level about the product, and between her and the esthetician the store was very welcoming. If anyone from the store reads this, your cashier with the chest/sleeve tattoos and septum ring was awesome. :) I will definitely recommend this store to anyone based off the customer service alone. I’m not a crazy fan of cosmetics, but I’d go back and see what other services they offer, since it looks like it’s a doppelgänger salon, too.

Do not buy any styling products from this place. I bought a curling iron and after 29 days the coating on the barrel was chipping off. When I brought it back to the store I was told that they have a 14 day return policy. I took the mfg name and made contract with them, only to be told that it is under warranty but I have to send it back for replacement. Not only do I have the expense of shipping back a defective product, but now I am without a curling iron. As a distributor, this company should stand behind their merchandise take my iron back and replace it. They can return it to the manufacturer, and keep a customer happy. Very poor business practice, and will never shop there again. I will go to Kohl’s, Target, JC Penny, anyone else that would exchange my product.

While I was traveling and shopping I had to make a stop into my favorite store… One of their reps… Macie Lujan… was wonderful to work with. she had excellent customer service and a deal of knowledge about products that would suit my hair and complexion. I was SOLD. Now I know that I can walk into any Planet Beauty and be treated like I am not being sold something just for it to leave the shelf.
