This would not have been worth reviewing under the last owners because there is no 0 star option. They were rude and suspicious of any customers interested in buying alcohol. New owners are kind, helpful, and happy to order what you need if they don’t have it. The redesign has more cooler space and brightens up the store considerably. Before, you’d be hard pressed to find anything more than Sam Adams. Now I see CBC, Pretty Things, and Notch on the shelves with selection increasing constantly. A few weeks ago I walked in and someone was setting up for a wine/liquor tasting! It’s like they trust adults to not act like fools and appreciate neighborhood business. How refreshing. I echo the previous commentator. Give it another go.

This place used to be terrible, but it has new owners and now it’s way better. They just redid the interior and their selection is getting better. More than anything though, the service is leaps and bounds better than it had been with the previous owners. They’re super helpful. If you used to hate this place, give it another go.

The selection here sucks; it really does… Once in a while there will be a decent, fairly priced bottle of wine, but not often. The liquor are all standards, and not overly expensive, not a steal either. It’s a liquor store, and the only one in the area. Minimum charge for cards: $ 10(pack of cigarettes + a nip = $ 10)

If you’re in a hurry, and need a six pack of cheap beer at a price 2 – 3 dollars higher than Blanchard’s, then I’d say maybe, MAYBE shop at Alex’s. There are absolutely no other reasons, however. Their wine and liquor selection is terrible. Their prices are unnecessarily high. Worst of all, the owners continually try and shyster their customers. Example: earlier this week, I needed a bottle of cachaca immediately for a party I was hosting. Alex’s had only one brand, a common cheap brand; however, I didn’t have time to drive to JP to find something better. So I thought«well, I’ll spend the 14.99″– a price which was CLEARLYMARKED beneath the bottles of cachaca. When I got to the register, though, the owner rang me up at $ 15.99. Now, this wouldn’t have bothered me all that much– I can certainly afford the stupid dollar– but this is the THIRDTIME in the past year that this EXACTTHING has happened to me. This is just crappy business practice. Three strikes, and you’re out. I won’t shop at Alex’s again.

I went here for some beer last night. I just got my license and had one of those temporary paper ID’s and the clerk(probably owner) quizzed me on my address, zip code and where my house was located. All with a suspicious eyebrow. I enjoyed that entertainment. He was eventually convinced, by the way. Anyway, the place is your typical small liquor store with a modest selection of six packs and 12-packs, and a decent sized cooler with chilled wines available. I didn’t really look, but I’m sure that they have you typical liquor selection as well. The place has Sparks, which puts it on the A-list for my wife. They have a good selection of shit-beers and enough good beers which puts it happily on my B-List, plus I can walk here. Oh, Alex you know I’ll be back, don’t you?!
