Rustica Pizza

We’ve only ordered take out so can’t speak to the in dining experience. The take out is dependable and professionally on time, every time. You must order the — this is important– the hand tossed pizza. The regular pizza seems to be like everyone else’s in Rozzy and West Rox, the hand tossed is special. Oh and order the cinnabites for the kids, they’ll love you and might even go to bed on time.

My husband got the buffalo chicken calzone and I got a tuna salad. The calzone was a bit messy but very delicious and the tuna salad wasn’t all that great. The delivery was fast and the delivery guy was very nice.

Counter service is great, owner is a good guy. Very personable. And the chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza is unreal

When ordering from inside Rustica Pizza, their overhead menu board is very limited in choices, though they do have more food offerings on their paper menus and on their website.
I ordered a large Greek Souvlaki sub which I thought was just okay /​average. This sub lacked flavor and was loaded with too many onions and not much of anything else and could have used more feta cheese & tomatoes.
While this sub was not good enough for me to order it again (particularly at $ 13.00), it was just okay enough for me that I would try something else from Rustica Pizza although I would not go out of my way to come back here.

Made an online order tonight. An hour goes by so I called them asking if they left yet. Her response «oh our server must be down so we probably didn’t get it.»
Never again.

Attempted to order online through their website tonight. After two hours of waiting for the delivery guy to show up I called them only to find out that their online system was down. Unacceptable. If the system is down than the website should be updated accordingly.
I don’t think I’ll be trying this place in the future.

This place is soo yummy and fast delivery. Best pizza around and then fried dough for desert my favorite

Since my last review we have given Rustica a few more tries to see if the service would improve. Sadly, while the food is still delicious, the service is terrible.
The very last meal we ordered (two Greek salads) was disastrous. My husband picked up the food and paid, to be informed as he was walking out the door that there wasn’t any pita. At most other places this wouldn’t be a big deal, but if you’ve had Rustica’s homemade fresh baked pitas you would be bummed too. At least tell the customer before ordering, or offer 10% off a trivial gesture that would show the customer that you care. When he got home, we had one incorrect dressing (ranch instead of Greek, gross), and two bites in my husband found the biggest grossest fly in his salad. He drove back to Rustica, the employees working didn’t really care and we decided that would be the last visit for awhile.
Later on that day the manager did call, but spent much of the phone call debating our concerns (hygiene, customer service, inconsistency). I’m not usually an obnoxiously argumentative customer but it kills me that the food is really good! He offered to put free salads on our account, but after we waited a couple of months and tried again, none of the employees would give us the free salad and insisted there was no such comp on our account. Yet another service fail.

Really good pizza– great variety of toppings. Their white pizzas are awesome– Mediterranean! I always ask for it to be cooked a bit longer.

Was craving a pizza and a salad tonight, as the heat had me hating the idea of cooking. The Greek salad was fresh and green, although the house Greek dressing lacked in flavor, and was thin. The large cheese pizza was warm with a chewy, satisfying crush and sweet red sauce.
The delivery time was originally promised for an hour after ordering for only two items, and then delayed an additional 10 minutes via Grub Hub. I then learned from a friend that the business is up for sale!
Overall, the pizza could have been hotter and delivered sooner. Otherwise, a good night of take-​out!

I’ve been meaning to write a review of Rustica for a while now and have finally come around to it. Customer service is a million stars, even our delivery driver smiles while he delivers the food. The staff in person is amazing, in fact it’s almost as amazing as the food. I frequently order from here for the best food and the best service. You guys are awesome!

Never again! I ordered via Foodler at 8:05 PM.
Told to expect delivery by 8:50 PM
Called to enquire the ETA at 9:15PM, was told it’s busy, we’re sorry, it should be there any minute.
Called again at 9:45PM. Told the same same thing. I added that if it arrives cold, I don’t want it. Was told that if that occurred they would refund my money.
9:53 still waiting.
Terrible delivery service.

The pizza: still excellent, for the most part. Service: I have to revise my assessment to «problematic.»
Their website is still hideous. Use the telephone to order. Otherwise, you pretty much have to select one of their pre-​selected «special» combination of toppings; «build your own» doesn’t work for website orders.
I used their website to order a pizza with three toppings, and instead got a plain cheese pizza (which also mysteriously cost more than a plain cheese pizza should!). I told the delivery guy that he could take the plain cheese pizza back, and we would wait for the toppings we’d ordered. He graciously told us to keep the pizza we hadn’t ordered and he’d bring us another that was as ordered.
A few minutes later, though, the manager or owner (I’m not sure which) called to tell us that their website malfunction was our problem — that because their website messed up, we would have to deal with their web folks if our order was messed up.
I spent a few minutes trying to convince the man that since he set up his website or chose the company that did, flaws in how it reports orders are really not the customer’s fault. No dice — he wanted us to pay for the cheese pizza we did not order and I told the delivery guy he could take back to the restaurant.
It was only when I suggested that he check his records to see how frequently we ordered from them and that this was our first complaint that he agreed to send our pizza with the toppings we ordered — though he insisted on an extra charge for it. We were hungry, didn’t really like the plain pizza, and coughed up the extra money.
We eventually got the pizza we ordered. The pizza was both cold AND burnt — much worse than what we had come to expect from them.
We will continue to order from Rustica for now, but will ALWAYS order by phone. If the food remains good with reasonable consistency and the management shows respect for us as customers, I’ll post another update.
Honestly, I was really insulted to have someone arguing with me about what I ordered — why would I suggest sending back the pizza we didn’t order AND offer to pay for the original order no matter how late it was if I was just trying to make trouble for them?
If I’m going to pay $ 25 or more for a pizza, I expect management to be polite if someone makes an honest mistake, and I hope these folks learn their lesson. The food is too good for the place to go down in flames due to one hot-​tempered guy insulting customers.

First off I’ve never done a review, nor do I know these nice people here, and I never had a Unilocal acct… welp…about a month ago when I (literally) randomly picked this place out because I was working in the area… hands down the best chicken broccoli linguini alfredo I’ve ever tasted (imo beats olive garden, fridays, Texas roadhouse, chilli’s, wherever. …) these guys put their hearts into the food and take pride in what they deliver, and awesome customer service. …I literally opened a Unilocal acct so that I may write a much deserved review… they’re affordable and they give you so much food too… it’s crazy… but this is possibly the best hidden thing in town right now… they’re so good that I’ve been asking for jobs in Roslindale/​hyde park/​mattapan just so that I can sneak here for a bite lol… honestly…think I’m lying? Try it for yourselves… won’t be disappointed!

Ordered a large New York style pizza. Pretty good for Boston and one slice was very filling. Good buffalo wings and Greek salad. Delivery was on time and driver was friendly. We will order from them again.

After a long hour debate about ordering for dinner, we decided to try this place. Really happy we did!
We ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza, mozzarella sticks and the Greek salad. The chicken Alfredo pizza was so good! There were ample amount of toppings on each slice. The chicken was yummy and not at all dry. The Alfredo sauce was super tasty. The Greek salad was one of the best I’ve had. Everything was fresh and the feta was very yummy. Mozzarella sticks were good too. Pretty standard pizza joint mozzarella sticks.
Really had an A+ experience here that I had to write my first Unilocal review to tell everyone to try this place out. The counter help was very nice and courteous. Came in a little early for pick up and the counter help went back into the kitchen to ask the cooks how much longer. Another server checked in with me about my order to update me on when it will be done and brought it to me once it was ready. Great service and great food! Also the inside décor was very cute and the whole restaurant was very clean. Will definitely be back!

I’ve been regularly ordering from here for a little less than year now. It’s so good! I LOVE the Rustica Supreme pizza. Any time my friends from CT come to visit me, they ask if we can order it. They do not skimp on toppings or the quality of the toppings. As someone who is from NY and CT, finding quality pizza in Boston was super exciting!
The Greek salad is also delicious and is my go to salad from here.
They will continue to be my go to pizza/​calzone place!

Their pizza must be made with cheese wiz. It’s disgusting. Not to mention I ordered 1 large cheese and 1 large chicken parm pizza, and they delivered 1 large cheese and one small cheese. Didn’t offer to correct the order when I called… never again.

The service is great. Great place for take out. We went on a Friday night when it was very busy, but they acknowledged us. We took it out, but it would have been okay to seat in.
The deliver guy (wearing a white wig — it was Halloween) was literally running from and to his car with pizzas. I even told him that it’s pretty impressive to see a deliver running, smiling, in such a great mood. I didn’t think twice he really wants your order fast and warm as possible. He was such a nice guy. I asked his name (Paulo) and told him from now on I’ll be ordering for delivery.
Next time I’ll order my crust thin.

Pizzas are huge and delicious!
Pastrami sub was great.
Italian sub was a huge let down… literally full of bologna! Disappointing Rustica! Pull those Italian subs together and you’ll have regular customers every weekend!!!
