Tizka Salon

It is time to give Tizka another great review! I still see Alison Olyinger-​Shuai and she is AMAZING! While she was on maternity leave I ventured out and had a hair cut and color at another Marin Aveda Salon — it was HORRIBLE! Even though Alison was kind enough to give me her color formula to pass along to the stylist — I came out with dry, brassy hair and an awful haircut — all that for $ 250!
I was sooooo happy when Alison came back and LOVE my hair again! AND Tizka has a super sweet new receptionist now — Samantha (Sami) — she could not be nicer and more helpful!

I saw Kristen today for cut and color and was very satisfied. My past couple of trips to my old salon have left me feeling disappointed. A friend told me about Kristen and today was my first time. I gave it four stars because the cut I requested was VERY basic, but I’ll def be back again. I have no idea why this salon is listed as $$$$ (ultra high end). I felt like the pricing was very average for Marin County.

I just came back from Tizka Salon and I had Courtney, and she did an amazing job! She really listened to what I wanted my hair to look like, and gave me some recommendations as well. She cut it the perfect length and styled it so beautifully! i loved showing off my hair to everyone, i got so many compliments! She also gave me a really nice head rub during the shampooing! She was so fun to talk to and there was no doubt in my mind when she was cutting me hair that it would turn out bad! And it has happened i have Curly hair and I am very particular about how my hair is cut, and she nailed it! I will def be going back and requesting Courtney to do my hair! I cannot stop touch my new soft hair!!!

Courtney did my hair and it was AMAZING! It was gorgeous and the color was awesome :) Im now a really dark brown now but i am going to go back to her to go all blonde :) Id definitely recommend going to see her, she listened to everything i was concerned about with my hair and she’s such a sweet girl! Im so excited to go blonde with her!

Today was my first time at this salon, following my hairstylist Courtney from her old salon. I absolutely love this place, it is gorgeous and the staff is not only efficient but also super sweet.
I must disagree with the not-​so kind comment bellow. Courtney has been doing my hair for a while now. She is amazing, and believe me, my hair is not easy to handle. Not only do I have a lot of hair but it is also super thick. When I first went to Courtney I had a horrible highlights. My hair’s natural color is dark brown and I wanted a golden blonde. Courtney worked her magic and I left the salon feeling gorgeous. I could not imagine a best hairstylist. Courtney and the rest of the staff at Tizka are super sweet. They make you feel like you are at home. I love this place, and if you are looking to get great results Courtney is the best hairdresser out there!

Rut has been cutting and coloring my hair for many years, and it always looks great. In fact, people regularly stop me to ask me where I get it cut.
When I moved here from Chicago almost sixteen years ago, finding a good hairdresser was harder than finding a new doctor and dentist. A friend recommended Tizka Salon, and I have been a happy client ever since.
The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing — highly recommended.

First time at this salon today, following my hairstyling Lynsie from her old salon.
Tizka is super cute! I’d never been in downtown Ross, and this building has so much character and feels like HOME. The ceiling has cool exposed rafters, it smells lovely, the area is quiet and comforting, and the other staff there are really nice.
Can’t wait to go back!

I have found my hair dresser for life at Tizka Salon: Erica Krueger. Normally I am one to cry and have anxiety over getting my hair cut, but from day one Erica has made it actually FUN. She will give me the style I ask for, and I love the grand reveal when she’s done with my hair. I swear, the Aveda hair dye she uses sparkles in the sun.
The ladies there are all nice, too, and remember me each time I go in. I appreciate the great service, and will recommend them to anyone. Truly, Erica has made it fun to be a girl!

I love the owner, rut, she’s lovely and cheerful and tries hard to run a good business. Unfortunately her staff is sub par, they are completely unprofessional and catty… most of them have zero social skills or don’t understand the concept of the service industry. Unfortunately due to her staff I doubt I’ll ever be in there again which is unfortunate because I love rut as a person and a stylist… if you must go
only ask for rut!

I made an appointment at Tizka salon after moving to Marin and searching for a place that had a great reputation for working on blondes.
The salon is so quaint and comfortable, and the owner got me right in. She is a lovely Norwegian woman who knew how to get my hair back to beautiful without using bleach, and gave me the best haircut of my life.
I’ve been going here for a year and a half now, and my hair has gone from dull and damaged to healthy and shiny. I love the attention and personal connection I feel every time I go in, and always look forward to the cup of hot Aveda tea they offer.
The services I receive at Tizka have become one of the more relaxing and enjoyable things I get to do to pamper myself, and I look forward to going back more each time.

Had a great experience at Tizka. Rut (owner for 20 years) colored and cut my hair and she did a great job. She gave me some great advice about what and what not to do and I was extremely pleased with the results. I once had a bad experience here, but Rut made sure that didn’t happen again. I was offered hot tea throughout my visit and Rut gave me an incredible head and neck massage during my wash (an extra treat which I loved!). I love the Aveda experience and products and will definitely return.
