Hobby Lobby

Poor customer service. I can NEVER find an employee to help. They do not take competitor coupons… other craft stores take theirs!

Dropped off a picture to have framed on February 2^nd and was told it would be ready February 26^th. It’s now March 3^rd and it won’t be ready for a couple more days. Did they chop down a tree and start the frame from scratch? Definitely will not be using their framing department again!

Despite their politics, I do enjoy coming here. The reason I didn’t give five stars, as they have not «WOW’d» me, and not four stars due to unmarked isles — it’s hard to find stuff unless you’re a regular customer. I do recommend this place, but otherwise just average as far as retail goes.

I go to the store on a weekly basis. I went in there today and was going to purchase a shelf when I was at the cash register I asked the lady if it was on sale she rudely said no I can just tell by looking out it is not on sale. Then proceeded to ask me if I want all the other items after she rudely was telling me the price of every single item is if I didn’t have money to pay for my items. I often go to other craft stores and usually they are pretty helpful by telling me to sign up or download the app for their store to get coupons this lady in particular did not even inform me about any of that.

Love this place! Need a quick gift for a friend? Go here. Get the gift, the wrapping, AND a card and its perfect! Associates are friendly, not over the top, but are helpful. I can always find a child’s gift here. I’d also rather support this family owned business and pick up something more unique than go to a Walmart for a generic item.

Not sure why it hadn’t occurred to me to review the Hobby Lobby – love this place. Even though we call it the Slobby Lobby, or start to sing Utada’s «Meet Me in Hotel Lobby» replaced with the lyrics ‘meet me at the Slobby Lobby’ every time even mention the place: it’s still an awesome find.
Now, I have decorated a psychic gallery (back when the North Star was rocking Lake County) with candles and fabrics from this place. I’ve found bottles that I’ve been able to put love spells and brews and salts and Hoodoo into. I’ve, found furniture here that has doubled for tarot cabinets. Have found trunks that I’ve carried traveling mysteries in…
We’ve found fabric for 19^th century clothes at the HL, science experiments, drawing supplies, calligraphy pens, ink and pen nibs, stamps, picture frames, lucky charms and glass doohickeys. Halloween lights and Christmas doo dads for that year we did a tree totally in silver and blue. We’ve gotten candy and votive cups, brass candlesticks and coffee mugs. We’ve used the place for its clean bathroom on occasion, spent time browsing just for funsies… We’ve gotten table supplies for trade shows, foam board and wood pieces, mini solar lights, baskets, easels and sketch pads… It’s been a go to place for us for at least 8 years.
The staff has always been helpful and sweet: even when their swamped. Everything’s neat and organized. It’s a great place and their sales are spectacular.
Closed on Sunday… so don’t go then… otherwise go and be crafty.

I love this place, especially the seasonal areas, which is usually filled with fun and new items which tend to get you in the holiday mood by the time you leave that area. The downside is that the seasonal area is picked thru quickly so you do need to get there early for once something is gone, it’s not restocked. So what you see on the shelf, is all they have in stock.
Sales… sales… sales, is another big things at this place. Just about every time I come here you can find good sales. It is not uncommon for me to come in here and stroll thru looking for what is on sale and would be a good birthday/​anniversary present.
The store is huge so if you have a hobby, more than likely you’ll find it here. Not to mention, the home décor section is really good too.
Hobby Lobby is one of those places which is a great place to walk thru and come up with ideas or get unexpected deals on those rainy days and you just want to get out of the home.
Be warned that Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday’s but personally I respect this and think it is good that they take off at least one day a week.
The only downside is that I find checking out can be a long experience. The lines generally build up quickly and the cashiers seem to be very, very slow. Partly because they are naturally slow moving, but some take extra long to wrap up the breakables.

I can usually find anything I need arts and crafts wise here, and their framing department does a great job too. Just wish it wasn’t so pricey, and also wish that all frames came with hanger hooks, etc. already attached. But that’s just a personal gripe! I love the huge basket/​trunk/​container and variety of photo frames selection here.
