From design to finish the job was handled with professionally and with skill. Every project has small issues and there was a miscommunication that resulted in a delay that was handled very well and the project was completed to my satisfaction. We now have a fantastic deck to enjoy the beautiful fall weather well ahead of the initial schedule we were given.

I worked with Novalee. She provided us with three designs from which to choose(at different price points). She is a talented designer and great to work with.

The beginning of my experience was the opposite of B H. Archadeck of Austin was the only contractor who returned my calls in regard to my project. Overall, I’m happy. I’m definitely pleased with the result of the work. It’s very good quality construction. It also looks great, including the flagstone for the patio, which I was worried about at first. The beginning of the process was excellent. I enjoyed working with Noelalee in developing the plans. She has a lot of knowledge and experience that helped us decide what to include and change. Construction began about a week past the proposed start date. Work was steady for about 2 or 3 weeks. But then progress was very slow. This is where communication seemed to break down. I wasn’t kept updated as often as I should have been. Construction went on for an extra month because of delays, which seemed to mostly be due to Archadeck stretching itself too thin or not having enough employees. After the project was finished, the inspector came back and said some changes were required. I’ve since been told that these things aren’t strictly requirements, but more of what the inspector would *like* to see. However, three months later, and I have received no more news on whether these things will actually be addressed. Archadeck was also supposed to install a drain in an area that pools with a lot of water near the foundation. This has not been done. Even though there is a 5-year warranty on the project, I’m worried that any real problem would not be handled promptly by the company, if at all. This is our first house and first experience in hiring someone to do major construction. I’m glad that we have a patio that looks great and is unlikely to fall apart. It’s just that the path to getting to this point wasn’t as smooth and open as it should have been.

I called 3 different companies to do proposals for a deck, and 6 weeks later I’m still waiting for Archadeck’s proposal. Their customer service over the phone isn’t too impressive, nor is their follow up.
