Well hey, this place is so-so, y’know? Same as other buffets, nothing too outstanding except for the fact that it has some Korean dishes and a very nice staff. Apparently, we come here so often they recognize us and always has a plate of salmon and tuna nigiri for us. Awesome.

I really do not get joy in giving a bad review. It saddens me to put a business on blast but this place was awful. The food was so bland and clearly had been sitting out for hours. The sushi was definitely not fresh. My mom said at one point«god damn, even the watermelon is bad.» LMAO… How do you mess up watermelon?! They try though. The staff was kind and it is very clean. Its just not good food. And to boot its very expensive. Sorry guys… the buffet thing needs to stop. Its so 90’s.

I’ve never eaten at this location, but a friend and I stopped by there yesterday for lunch. We changed our minds when we saw the big hot-pink sticker on the door from health and human services that said UNSATISFACTORY. I’m surprised a restaurant can continue to be in business when it has this rating.

Shady indoors, not good selection, food was dry, food cost does not match the selection or taste, lastly my six year old son had to get charged an adult plate not kid.

The word vomit does not begin to describe how horribly bad the food is here. While buffet restaurants are not the normal place to search for top knotch food, the Buffet Palace is more like a shack than a royal palace. I might rename it Buffet Dump. The food is typical of your Chinese buffet, a collection of Chinese«stews»(Moo Goo, Kung Pao, etc), rice and soups. There are also desserts, a few appetizer items and sushi. This is the layout of what you can eat, if you can stomach it. The Chinese food is just plain bad. The sushi is rubbery and tastes about as wonderful as supermarket sushi at 10PM(If you like that type of sushi, more power to you). The only potentially shining moment are the desserts, which are hard to screw up. If you have a hankering for Chinese, do yourself a favor and visit the Panda Express(fast food Chinese) across the parking lot. You will be glad you did.

My expectations for Chinese buffets isn’t the greatest, and my favorite is the Buffet Palace down South on Westgate. It is strange that there should be such a large difference in quality between the two locations as they’re owned by the same people(I assume it’s not a franchise). First of all, the variety of dishes at this location is fairly limited. That I could excuse, but the QUALITY is so poor as to make this one buffet I simply refuse to go back to. The last time I went, the sauces were absolutely atrocious in both taste and texture. There simply wasn’t a single dish I found which was worth eating. Combine that with the(relatively) high price for a buffet, and you’ve got one place I simply won’t be coming back to until I see people review it and say that things have improved. I hope the owners are reading this, because there is simply no excuse to have such a large difference in quality between the two locations.

We stopped in here on a whim without doing our research. BIG mistake. It was pricey and AWFUL. The smell alone made me sick. It was so bad it was comical. I will NEVER go back, and would never recommend it to anyone. I’m not sure I’ve been to a place with so many dishes that were ALL horrid.

This place is alright. Nice sushi. Almost everything else was deep fried. Not many stir fries. The stir fries they do have look like they have been sitting in that syrupy sauce for a while.

I’m not a complainer. Nor am I a picky eater. I’ll pretty much eat anything. I have never taken the time to ever write a review before, but after my experience at Buffet Palace, I am obligated to warn you! There are no words to explain how horrible it was! The few choices that were available had without a doubt been sitting there all day and night. Many dishes tasted reheated and were not even edible! Their feeble attempt at sushi was an insult to anyone who knows sushi! It was all rice that was crunchy from sitting out all day with microscopic filling. After it all, I was charged $ 11 for it! I won’t be surprised if I’m very sick tomorrow. «Buffet Palace… the worst buffet!!» …Ever! The one star is for the nice waitress.

Horrible food! the focus of the restaurant seems to be in trying to offer a huge number of dishes instead of focusing on a few dishes and doing them well. So nothing tastes good! I love salmon and I thought it is hard to mess up salmon. But this restaurant proved me wrong.

Same name but if you can, go to the one down south. Pros: Variety is the name of the game here. Expect to get a little bit of all(not just Asian) foods. The Korean short ribs are pretty good when they’re cooked fresh. The sushi has enough flavor and meat to separate it from the California rolls you usually find on buffets. Cons: Alot of the dishes is hit or miss. Which is a shame because it’s near impossible to try everything that they have in 1 meal. Some of the sushi is overloaded with cream cheese, seafood is not always fresh, and the desserts are all pretty horrible except for the ice cream machine. Expect to spend $ 10 – 15. As far as Chinese buffets go, this place is little above average. The better Buffet Palace is the one down south in Gateway. Bang for buck: 7⁄10

This is a buffet and one of the best as asian buffets go. Not every dish is fantastic but I really love this place. I am a pretty picky when it comes to good food. My boyfriend is selective about his asian food and really likes eating here too. This is the same as the one that was on Anderson I have been to both over the years. They have a huge selection of food here including Sushi. Keep in mind a buffet is usually not going to be a 5 star dish. I have tried other chineese buffets and they were not so good. Down right inedible. In fact this place was voted one of the best buffets in Austin. In fact there isn’t another buffet in the Austin area that has as many positive reviews as the Buffet Palace restraunts do. I don’t know why all these negative comments about it ended up on Unilocal

I decided to cheat on my diet this week and I was CRAVING chineese buffet. I wanted neverending crab rangoon and soup! My favorite buffet ever was Buffet Palace but it had burned down, I heard someone mention this was the same owner/buffet. NO no no no it is NOT. Not even close!!! THis was the most disgusting buffet I have EVER paid for. We arrived at 6:45 and the sesame chicken looked so yummy and fresh, NOT! It was hard as a rock and must have been sitting there for hours. No generals chicken, no chicken lo mein, no kung pow, NOTHING there were 2 «normal» selections the rest was salads, very old shrunken sushi, and tons of deserts. Do not go here it is very dirty and no selection. The crab salad was warm, that can not be safe! Ugh! ehhhhhhh.…my skin is crawling just thinking back !

My step-son and I ate at Buffet Palace last Sunday. I have eaten there many times for lunch and hadn’t been disappointed, but I hadn’t eaten there for dinner. We probably won’t be going back. Too many better places. There were lots of choices on the buffet, just none that I cared for. Even the fried rice wasn’t special. It was pretty expensive too. I will be looking for a better RR Chinese choice next time.

Probably the worst Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. There was nothing good except for the lomein which is why it got one star. Actually the lomein wasn’t worth this one star, if I could have given this place zero stars I would have. Ew, no, please do not bother to pay the $ 30 for two buffets to eat here. Drive to Temple to go to Dynasty or drive to Nan Kings for a buffet free but delectable Chinese meal. Just don’t eat here ever.

I try to be optimistic when I rate a place, especially a asian restaurant in Texas of all places. So I will rate this comparable to other restaurants of this style in texas. I’m giving them 1 star just for sport, and another star for exceptional service. Anyone that says other wise, needs to get out more often. The food was less than average, though barely edible. What has been mentioned as sushi, you can forget it. I wouldn’t even mention the word sushi in this review if it were that someone else already said it. Yes I’m a avid sushi consumer, however I’ve been to other Asian buffets in Dallas that had real sushi at least. Their rolls have been sitting in this steaming pan so long that the fish is practically cooked, it doesn’t take much to cook ½ oz of fish. When I searched Korean rest in Round Rock on google, this was the first place that popped up. They have over cooked, fatty kalbi, and kimchee. All I got from this restaurant is a full stomach(i hope I don’t get sick), and a $ 11 tab. Environment is tacky and half clean. I would be afraid to check the bathroom. I won’t go back to give them another chance. Sorry.

This is more of a pan-Asian buffet than just a Chinese buffet. They have sushi and Korean as well as Chinese food. I went here for lunch when I had a huge appetite. I think it is a better deal for lunch than dinner and there is not that much difference between the two. Their sister restaurant in Killeen is much nicer and has a better selection of sushi but this place is decent.

I love Asian food, but Buffet Palace cannot exceed 3 stars in my book. First of all, it is a buffet. I hate buffets. Buffets are put on earth to make American’s fatter than any other culture on earth. Have you ever been out of this country? If you have look at the people walking around. They are skinny and they don’t eat at buffets. Most of the food here is typical Americanized Asian food, not spicy, not fresh, not that good. I do like a couple of the dishes. .They have chicken bulgugi(Korean dish that is kinda spicy) and sometimes on the weekend they will have spicy Octopus. If you must go, don’t eat for about a week and then go there and stuff yourself.
