I knew it would happen, Grapevine is no more. Good bye, you’ll be missed.

I ride my bike to Grapevine when I can to get lunch and wine. I’m either European or desperate for wine in the middle of the day. I can’t decide. :) I love this place and am annoyed that Majestic puchased them because they’re famous for screwing things up. I hope they’re able to stay afloat. The wraps and salads are amazing and the outdoor patio is great.

Went here for some champagne a few days before Christmas. We have a particular brand that happens to be one of the cheaper champagnes, but also very acceptable taste. I didn’t know before I Google’d it just before writing this review that all non-vintage(NV) champagnes are blends and must be in the cellar for at least 15 months before being released to the market. Also, these NVs tend to have a pretty constant«style de maison»(consistent flavor from year to year). I’m telling you all this because one of my other favorite cheap champagnes is now back in stock after being absent for a couple of years. So, ignorant of NV characteristics, I asked the woman who finally stopped to ask if she could help, «Is one of these better than the other, and is the quality from year to year fairly consistent?» If she had had glasses on, she would have been peering over the top of them at me as if she were looking at some clod off the farm. She said something like, «at this price, they pretty much remain the same.» Despite her lack of customer service skills, I bought the champagne and we enjoyed it on Christmas Day. However, I come to Grapevine for the service, for the advice and to feel like when I leave there that I know more about wine than when I walked in. This was one day that I did not get any of those things. If all I wanted was a big selection, cheap price and very little in the way of assistance, then I would have gone to Spec’s. And who knows, in the future I may. Addt’l Note: I went to Grapevine a couple of days after this experience and had absolutely excellent assistance from a young man there in selecting a quality Cabernet. As it turns out, he was not a Grapevine employee but rather a distributor’s rep. This guy spent nearly 20 minutes with me describing Cabs, vintages, terrior, etc. Clone him as an employee!

Grapevine rocks for lunch with the best sandwiches in Round Rock. The Super Tuscan is like robot jesus on bread. Having Specs just up I-35 is an ominous development. Seghesio Zin at Grapevine: ~$ 23…Seghesio Zin at Spec’s: ~$ 17. Ruh roh, Raggie! I definitely appreciate the helpful employees and the free tastings(like Friday Night Fights), but I cringe at the high retail prices. 4 stars for the lunch and because I’m afraid that this location might suffer the same fate as the Mopac one.

Went to the Round Rock Grapevine Market to place our very large wedding order for alcohol. The woman we worked with was awesome, organized, great communication. Then she was fired a week before our wedding and they had the wine specialist handling the order. We transferred the order to the Austin store who handled it very smoothly. They separated out a few cases of beer so we could have a few for Friday. They even called us the day of the wedding after they noticed we didn’t have enough tequila. They added it to the order with no problem. Only a $ 25 delivery charge anywhere in Austin. Delivered on time. No complaints. They do NOT have kegs if that is an issue for your event. Despite the drama, Grapevine was still a breeze to work with.

This is the go-to place for lunch because the panini sandwiches always hit the spot. I love how all of the sandwiches come with a side of fresh(and always perfect ripe and crisp) red grapes. I usually get the chicken pesto panino or the ave maria(vegetarian) which are both excellent. The spinachi salad is also good and is a healthy portion(although no grapes). Friends who have tried the pizzas don’t care for them quite as much. There are vegetarian options available, and you can’t beat the olive oil and cheese tastings they have available while you wait. Makes you want to plan a wine and cheese party for your friends with all the new varieties that you try at the store.

Again, amazing. The skinny is still my fave but now we get bread and butter and the red pepper hummus. I keep forgetting that damn girls name but shes totally awesome, recognizes me and is totally comfortable with the store. I have to say, they do an excellent job of fully integrating their employees versus say, walmart, where you can ask people where the automotive section is and they send you to garden.

As far as lunch goes, this place is stuffed full of win. I have been in a rut before and taken a break to grab a quick sandwich, and find myself a much happier camper afterwards. I have a problem with cheese. I eat it all, as often as possible. The greek sandwich with halloumi and hummus is delicious, and the accompanying grapes are always(and I don’t know how they manage this) perfect, along with the salad. The pizzas are yumdedumdum, the ingredients are yum, it’s all yum and I cannot stress this enough. Yum. For the price, it’s especially adored by my heart and my stomach and my other special organ, my pocket. The tasting days are fantabulous and they have awesome customer service and sales and wonderfully affordable wine. For all of these reasons, I have started living in the corner of a back room here. I can’t say which one.

I waited too long to shop to Grapevine thinking it was going to be stuck up and expensive. Boy was I wrong. Tons of great wine and cheese and very knowledgeable staff to help you with anything and everything. I’ve had them research wine and order some for me, all without additional cost to me. Basically, if you like wine, cheese or stuff that pairs well with wine– go here!

Grapvine Market is not your average liquor store. The floors aren’t sticky from all the spills, the staff doesn’t look like they haven’t showered, there are no brown bags, and the store doesn’t smell like the inside of an airplane… this is high-end! «Man, I sure am hungry and tired from all this booze shopping…» «Don’t worry weary shopper… have a seat at our gourmet café! « That’s right! A café… in a liquor store! Because nothing says«gourmet sandwich’s» like aisles and aisles of hard liquor! The sandwiches are so fancy I had to keep asking what the ingredients were! The cashier kept giving me the look like, «You don’t know what THAT is?!» Look gourmet sandwich maker guy… You’re the one making sandwich’s in the back of a liquor store… so, don’t look at me like I’m crazy. The sandwich(although I still have no idea what was on it) was good… but in the end, what is Grapevine selling? Liquor. I do like their shiny floors, friendly staff, gourmet sandwich’s, and organized aisles… but it doesn’t make their liquor taste any better then anywhere else. So why are you paying more for it? It’s all made in the same place… it all serves me the same purpose. It’s back to the corner liquor store next to the adult video store for me. Maybe the smelly guy behind the counter will give me a bite of his fast food hamburger if I get hungry.

Grapevine Market is a fantastic store for wine and liquer as well as a helpful deli counter for sandwiches as well as great cheeses and cured meats. Friday evenings and Saturdays they often have wine tastings which is a great way to be introduced to some varieties you don’t often try and the staff is always knowledable and helpful when you have questions. I also have to give props to their cheesemonger who hooked us up with some fantastic cheeses for a party we had recently. I’ve also been to Spec’s and while you can get some good deals there, it feels like a corporate chain while Grapevine feels like an Austin neighborhood store.

If you’ve been passing by Grapevine Market thinking it’s too upscale or expensive for you, do yourself a favor and go check it out. I would go on a Saturday when they do wine tasting and you can have more time to browse as it is like a liquor superstore. Everything from a $ 5 Merlot to a $ 385 Château Mouton Rothschild can be found here. They also have lots of wine-friendly foods like cheeses, breads, imported sweets and crackers, and chocolates. Plenty of wine glasses and accessories can be found. Lunch is amazing. Pizzas, wraps, paninis and salads made fresh to order. I had a side salad for $ 2 that had more mixed greens than you would have gotten at the grocery store for $ 2. And the panini I had was amazing, the Ave Maria. This will be my new Saturday lunch place. As another reviewer said, the map is wrong, this is at Hester’s Crossing by Wells Fargo and Gold’s Gym.

If I hadn’t done a little bit of online research, I would have never thought of this place for lunch. It is primarily an awesome place for wine and beer and other types of alcohol. While waiting on my food to be created(the website says«slow lunch served» mostly because they cook your food to order), I looked around the store. I have lately been hooked on a drink called Sparks, and I noticed that they did not stock the drink. I asked one of the sales reps and they knew of the drink and said it was only stocked in the Austin store at this time. He did point me towards another place in Round Rock where I could find some Sparks. Once you get over the initial shock of how much alcohol is available in this place, head to the back of the store and there is a little café that has a nice selection of grub. The prices are decent and the food is yummy. I wanted to order a Chicken Pesto Pizza, but was told that it was not available. I opted for the Cheese Pizza and did not regret it. It looks small, but turns out to be plenty for lunch. The mint and honey green tea version of Sweet Leaf tea was not in the cooler, so after a short crying spell, I chose a Sprite from Mexico made with sugar instead of «high fructose corn syrup» — whatever that is. Let the sugar high begin! Next time I go, I will order the Sticky Toffee Lava Cake for dessert to enhance my sugary intake. Anyway, just go and check out this little market with surprisingly tasty food. You may have to wait a few minutes for your meal, but you can find plenty of trouble to get into while you bump your way around the store.

can’t eat fast food everyday. I-35 @ 45 in round rock is like a giant food court. luckily, there is a place that makes good fresh food. the little café area is cool too. nice big window that sort of ‘overlooks’ round rock. plus there’s something about being surrounded by hundreds of bottles of wine that is oddly comforting.

I bought wines here before, quite a good selection but I am here to write about the café instead. I didn’t know this place offers lunch service until a friend suggested to come here and it turned out to be pretty darn good. The café is hidden behind the store right next to the deli and you can browse through and try the cheese sample(hmmm) while waiting for your food. I ordered the turkey, bacon & avocado croissant and it taste real fresh! Somehow my friend’s panini took longer to make but she liked her order too. This is definitely a refreshing place for lunch at Round Rock.

All hail GVM. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff, coupled with a fantastic selection of wine, beer, and booze. Wine tastings weekly, and a strong lunch menu make this one of my favorite places to spend money.
