I’ve been hypnotized on multiple occasions — always with success. I pre-paid for four sessions with Janet to address overeating. Before hypnotizing me, she made me sit through a «presentation» for some sort of wonder vitamin(that she sold) which would solve all my problems. I awkwardly declined purchasing them and requested that we continue on to the hypnosis. I had difficulty«going under» with her… there were a number of clicks and noises from her recording equipment. While I was«under» I experienced an achy, uncomfortable feeling which constantly intruded on the experience. Another Hypnotherapist told me I’d probably experienced an ab-reaction”. Janet however just shrugged it off. Overall I was very unsatisfied with the session & uncomfortable with her. Since I’d paid for 4 sessions about 90 minutes previously, I asked that she refund the payment to me and allow me to only pay for only the session we’d just completed. She declined. I later called and asked if my husband could use my remaining credit with her since I wasn’t comfortable with her. Again, she declined stating that the sessions were non-transferable. My visit to her was a waste of around $ 400.00. I got nothing out of it & feel ripped off. I think hypnotism is a wonderful and Janet might be a decent hypnotist for someone else, but in my opinion she is unethical. Between trying to sell some multi-level marketing stuff to patients & her lack of interest in providing the service paid for, she has shown herself to be unworthy of the trust a patient needs to have in a hypnotherapist.
