Play For All Abilities Park

Coolest playground ever… bring a ride on toy! Had to knock off a star though due to the lack of shade. We won’t be coming over the summer for that reason. If you do try it bring sunscreen!!!

This was really a one of a kind park! There are different little «sections» in this park. With everything from a giant sandbox to swings and of course the «typical» playground equipment w/​slides and things to climb on.
The «flooring» (for lack of a better term) around the majority of the play areas is a padded rubber. Very similar to tracks at high schools and colleges. This is very nice under foot and made it wonderful for my 11 mo old daughter who isn’t quite walking yet. I could let her down on the ground and not have to worry about her getting covered in dirt or wood chips or eating it!
There is even a section that is built to resemble a little mini-​town. Has paved streets, little businesses to go on and out of, as well as road signs and even three working stop lights!
This was a wonderful place to take the kids, we’ll probably be back before the end of our trip here!

Such an awesome park! My son loves it and I love that it’s always clean! There’s a little town that kids can ride scooters and bikes in, a huge playscape, sand area and even a quiet retreat play place. Kids can play for hours so pack a picnic!

I was going through the park to get to the trail and wow! That park is absolutely amazing. All the staples of a regular park plus so much more. If I was a kid, this would have been my dream park. They have a small town, with stop lights that work. Amazing.

Great park! Have your little ones bring their bikes or scooters so they can play in the Round Rock Village.

Super amazing place for the kiddos. If you are their at night please be aware there is not any lighting. I used my cell as a flashlight. Check this out… you won’t be disappointed to bring the kids here.

Seriously amazing. Everyone should take their kids here. Something to do for everyone even parents. My 2 year old loved the sand area, the diggers and other contraptions.
My family had a blast we will be making stops here every time we are in the area.

This is a very nice park. My 3 year old twin girls loved it here. I think the only thing I wish was they had some type of misting cool off station for the hot summer months. The park is very clean and opened for running and not crowded even when they are super busy. A food truck or snow cone stand would be great in the front of this place if the city allows it. I’m from Houston so I am not sure the laws in Atx. I do know it’s illegal to be on a phone call while driving in Atx unless you have a Bluetooth. Overall the park had fun things to wear down my twin 3 year olds. We will be back for a visit when we are in town maybe in cooler months.

This is a great park. We love the sand pit and the town area. I also love going for a run on the trail.

A little hard to find… making it a true hidden gem. Can easily spend the day here and not run out of things to do. And it’s FREE! Mom and kid approved!

Amazing park! The kids love all the swings and play ground sets. The little town with the stop light and HEB is cool. The sand area is big and the kids love to get all up in there.

Family friendly park that all the adults wish we had when we were younger!
This park has a large playscape, swings, a huge sandbox and everything else you would find in a park and then some. Imaginations run wild for kids here. There is even a city for the kids to play in with functioning stop lights and buildings to play in.
Awesome time for kids of all ages and even kids with disabilities.

This park is amazing! I love the little city. It was cool to see kids on their bikes and big wheels riding down the «street.» It’s also nice that there are sand toys sitting out for anyone to play with. Even though there were a lot of kids there, the size of the park makes it so that you don’t feel too overcrowded.

An awesome park. Sand put, plenty of swings, play city, and other miscellaneous play features. It seems to attract and entertain all ages. There are convenient bathrooms, a specific lunch area but also other picnic tables and plenty of benches. It is a little overwhelming, particularly during spring break. I’m excited to check it out again when the crowds are hopefully thinned.

This place is amazing, and long over due. The town with working lights and streets is incredible. I have kids with special needs and this place is a favorite for them!
I am guessing that whoever built it didn’t think parents would sit down much, as there is not even close to the amount of benches needed. The place is near perfect!

Love it. I was in town and looking for a place to take the kids for free play and found this on Unilocal.Very clean and imaginative for kids of all ages.

So, no place is perfect and this park certainly has far more inclusive features then most. I do have suggestions though — like don’t go on a hot sunny day and if you really want to sit bring your own lawn chair.
Hard to locate the first time. When traveling south toward the tracks you must make a U-​turn and pass the tracks to a small and little marked drive way to enter. There is no break in the median. After you have found it once it’s fine.
Pros:
There are several family restrooms.
Its a large park with many choices for play. Large play areas with many features. Don’t assume it’s just for the smallest kids it is great for really big kids too. There is an area geared to the smallest of children shaded by large trees. I like that parents can easily guide and play too.
Cons:
Cross fencing which feels more like a dog park — not only perimeter fenced and double gated (at the only single entrance /​exit) but the swings are segregated and the city is segregated etc. It’s odd. I don’t like the feeling of the cross fencing. The outer fence is a nice safety feature but the rest? Just odd and disconcerting.
Most play areas are unshaded and full sun. Besides the heat and sunburn issues the play items are often too hot to touch. The slides and round about for example are too hot to play on most days. I would like to see additional sun covers over whole areas similar to the music area.
There are benches but not enough for the number of people visiting. I’d bring a lawn chair to solve this. It’s hard to sit still here anyway — too much to do :)
My thoughts on parking in general here:
Zero shade in the parking lot.
Although the parking lot is located at one end of the park the fencing requires you to walk half way around the large perimeter to enter the only gate. It would be nice to have an entry gate on the side of the park where most of the parking is located because as someone else posted — getting out of the playground with a meltdown in progress and safely to ones vehicle is quite an extra chore at this park. On that note — there are plenty of families dealing with disabilities that do not qualify for a parking plaque.

I came to meet up with my Mommy friend and her kids. I haven’t seen her in ages! I also finally got to meet her kids. She said they were coming out to this park so I agreed to meet up with her. I know Mommies are busy so you gotta multi-​task your dates.
I was pretty impressed with this park. I had no idea it was here. There’s a cute little town set up with different buildings and a mini road fully equipped with traffic signals. There’s several play scape areas for children of all ages. It’s great because there’s also areas for children to enjoy that are in wheel chairs.
It was about 9:30AM on a Thursday so there wasn’t much of a crowd. My friend’s 4 year old daughter was checking it all out one by. We were there for about an hour when the crowd got bigger and tons of kids were every where.
There’s lots of benches available for seating and TONS of shade. This is super important here in Texas. Oh and I noticed how clean it was too. Well done guys! I would definitely recommend this park for your little ones.

Great place for kids.
Love taking my nephew here. He is only two but everything is a blast to him. Heck even some of the small children’s ride are fun for me. Lol
I can’t wait til they have the new building done. Parking is super easy. My only gripe would be is more lighting. It gets dark quickly and it would be nice to stay past 8.

This is a wonderful park to take your kids. I love all the different areas to play especially the different sensory areas. Both my kids are on the autism spectrum and when it’s really busy it can be difficult.
The first time we visited there were tons of people there and several parents brought trikes, bikes and scooters for their kids. My children don’t understand that it’s someone else’s especially if the child is no where near it. I would normally have to drag them away throwing a fit. On our second trip I brought their plasma cars with me. I was so upset that I had to basically handcuff to my arm because if my daughter got of hers someone would get on it and ride off with her screaming behind them. Then to make it worse parents that were there didn’t pay attention, so I have to then be the bad guy to someone else’s child and ask them to return my daughters car! She was so upset she willing walked to the gates and left on her own. That’s not my daughter at all!
I’ve found that if I try going on days or times it’s not busy it’s way more enjoyable. Oh and the train is not so great for kids with sensory issues. I didn’t see it coming the first trip and when the horn went off both my kids started screaming then covering their ears.
The free Easter egg hunt was a great experience for my kids! I love the park and everything it has to offer for my children. My two spend hours there at a time making sure they play in each area before we can leave. After the first few trips I’ve learned what upsets them and know to try and go when it’s not crowded.
