Easy in easy out. And…24 hrs after making my appt, and one hour at the actual facility I have films from my scan and a CD to hand deliver to my doctor(hand deliver is my choice). Other really large radiology practices(with the word«Austin» in their name) might want to re-figure out how to make a process like this quite simple again – not to mention FASTER. Just wish the 6 pages of forms had been provided to me BEFORE my appointment(or at least mentioned to me when the appointment was made). Nothing new, but I’m getting old enough that bringing a list makes any information more accurate.

I recently visited the Preferred Imaging office at the 711 W 38th location. Arianna(the coordinator) was so helpful in helping me book my appointment and explaining the procedure. Geovanni was the MRI technician and he was absolutely awesome. The IV was painless and he explained each and every part of the MRI, while constantly checking on me to make sure I was ok in the machine. I can’t give a better review for this company!

My wife went here for an MRI. The service was very good and the staff was very friendly. A few months later, we received a bill after we had already paid the co-insurance. I went ahead and paid it to avoid any late payments but emailed the management right away. Long story short, the management was very fast to fix the issue and quickly refunded us. The employee on the phone was very professional and understanding. We will definitely use this place again if we have any MRI or imaging needs. Excellent service and highly recommended.

In May 2012, we took our 9 yr old daughter to ARA for a non-sedated pediatric MRI. We’re still paying the $ 1,400. bill. So I wasn’t happy when my Dr said I needed an MRI for my back. He told me about Preferred so I called and happily found out that they were only $ 100. on my United Healthcare insurance. ONEHUNDREDDOLLARS! That was amazing but even better was my experience with the wonderful staff. I had no predisposed opinions about the MRI until they attempted to put me in the very closed, older machine. If you are not claustraphobic, you will not have an issue. However, I completely wigged out. The tech noticed I was hyperventilating and pulled me out, calmed me down and we tried again. And again. and on the third time, I was a manic mess, crying and begging her to let me leave. She called my husband back who was surprised to hear the words, «your wife is freaking out» because it’s not like me to react this way. Long story short. We had already paid and I needed imaging. The tech and staff were very kind and said we could reschedule and they wouldn’t charge us twice. I came back a few days later with a CT scan order instead of an MRI. Because of my recent panic with the MRI, I started to hyperventilate again as they put me through the CT scanner, but the tech stood there, holding my hand and rubbing my arm, speaking reassuringly and soothing. So very VERY sweet. The people at Preferred Imaging are angels. Both techs gave me a hug(yes, HUGS) before I left and wished me luck. The girl at the front desk was one of the most friendly medical admins I have EVER met. Don’t waste money going to a cold imaging place where the people don’t care about you. Go to Preferred. Pros: * Nice, clean lobby with room for kids and family to sit * TV and remote so children are not bored * Amazingly friendly, kind admin staff * Bathroom connected to the lobby * Wonderful, compassionate Imaging Techs * The least expensive /cheapest place to have MRI or CT Scan done * Nice CT Scanner, comfortable * Has Xanax on hand as long as your Dr signs off for it ahead of time Cons: * Older MRI machine with narrow passage that will not fit obese patients * No sedation for children or people with claustrophobia * No Pediatric procedures * No open MRI, only closed
