Residence Inn Austin Round Rock

I enjoyed my stay at the Residence Inn Round Rock. My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the (complimentary) continental breakfast was good. The room I stayed in was designed for an extended stay — the kitchenette area was complete with a fridge, stovetop, and dishwasher.
Location: Like another reviewer mentioned, the hotel is located behind a restaurant, but I actually liked that because that means the hotel is farther away from the hustle and bustle of I-​35. It also made getting dinner easier since, having been in the car all day, I didn’t want to drive around even more in search of food. Proximity was a bonus! :)
Noise: I knocked a star off for the noise level alone. The walls were paper thin. I fell asleep to the tune of a group of teenagers being rambunctious at the pool and was awoken periodically throughout the night by a baby crying in the room above mine. Light sleepers, you’ve been warned.
Staff: The ladies at the front desk were nice and courteous. Check-​in and check-​out went smoothly.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit and I’d stay at the Residence Inn Round Rock again.

First, arrival is odd with a dark poorly lit parking lot behind a restaurant right off 35. I would not want to be a single woman staying at this hotel. Booked a 2 room suite with living room. But each room only contained a single queen! Who would EVER request two rooms, and end up with only two tiny doubles total! (queens? doubtful) Buyers beware. This place offers tiny accomodations that ANY hotel can beat with their worst room. They have granite counters but it is lipstick on a pig. When I complained they said the couch turns into a bed and all rooms on property have same size bed. So, if you believe a cheap motel sofa bed is equivalent to a normal king out there, I encourage you to explore the wonders of this facility. Otherwise run away fast!

We recently traveled To Round Rock to meet friends who we had not seen in several years. Our friends made reservations for us at the Round Rock Residence Inn. We drove to Round Rock from deep South Texas, a trip of 6 ½ hours. We went straight to the hotel to check-​in, before the published check-​in time. The front desk people were cheerful and welcoming. They immediately checked with housekeeping to find out which rooms had been cleaned and could be occupied before the advertised check-​in time that day. This was very helpful, allowing us time to freshen up and change clothes before we met our friends.
The rooms were clearly designed for extended stays, even though we were only staying for the 2 nights. The living area consisted of a kitchen and living room. The kitchen appliances were all well maintained and fully functional. There is plenty of room to store supplies. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils for cooking and eating. The living area was comfortable and pleasant. The bedroom was well-​organized and had ample storage. The housekeeping was excellent.
We only ate breakfast there on one morning. The breakfast was disorganized and some of the food was not properly restocked. We were told this was because the person responsible for the breakfast had not shown up for work that day. What was impressive is that management pitched in to help provide the best breakfast possible to their guests.
One evening we played cards with our friends in the lounge. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, making this a nice experience. Good cards made even better for us!

I made the reservation a month or so before showing up with a group rate. We were traveling with my sons baseball team. Upon arrival there was not a room available. The lady stated she attempted to contact me but didn’t have a phone number. I’m not sure about that but they must not have google! I know they have my email address as I get junk daily. After speaking to her, she did make a reservation at the nearby Spring Hill Suites but no compensation was offered. Checking in at Spring Hill the front desk lady called the Residence Inn and said they should cover my room for the inconvenience. Thanks Spring Hill they were great… But I’ll stick to Hilton and Wyndham brands

Nice rooms, especially for extended stay. Refrigerator, stove, microwave, cabinets, and silverware in the rooms make it one of the best for longer trips. I’ve stayed at many Marriott’s and this one was definitely on par with the other Residence Inns. They had a great hot breakfast too with eggs, sausage, sandwiches, oatmeal, and waffles, with a large selection of muffins, yogurts, and coffee/​tea. I would stay again.

After a hellish, sleepless night at a nearby hotel we came to this lovely, clean, polite, well organized hotel. What more is there to say? CLEAN! Very polite staff. Very understanding that we needed a good place to stay with no advance notice and treated us wonderfully. A great breakfast to greet you in the morning. Did I mention that it was clean? Very clean. So nice — so very nice. We will be back.

As a seasoned business traveler fond of Marriott chain hotels, I booked this hotel through Southwest several weeks prior to traveling. I received a confirmation number.
I arrived as scheduled only to be told they had overbooked my room and I had to drive BACK the way I had come (5 miles) and stay at a different Res Inn. The clerks were nice but had a handwritten list of those of us to be moved.
No one made ANY effort to notify me IN ADVANCE or to contact Southwest and have them contact me.
Upon check in at the SECOND Res Inn, the clerk told me the hotel often bumps existing reservations of shorter duration if they receive longer stay reservation requests. What type of service and professionalism is this???

When I return home I am writing to Marriott’s Corporate office AND to Southwest to file formal complaints about this unethical practice. If they wish to formalize a minimum nights stay policy THEN DO SO. Otherwise, you should not bump clients.
I will NEVER stay at another Residence Inn EVER.
Horrible practice by Management which Marriott needs to be aware of and fire the manager who is responsible.

The hotel has a decent hot breakfast, and also offers a light dinner. Complementary wine, even. The rooms are nice sized, with kitchenettes.
I had a flat tire on my rental car, and one of the managers, Jim Duffy, drove me in the shuttle to my work appointment three miles away. And at the end of the day, he came and picked me up – and drove me a couple of blocks out of his way to show me exactly where the tire repair shop was, so I was able to get my tire fixed at minimal expense and hassle. Very nice service.

A huge Thank You to the incredible staff at the Marriott Residence Inn — Round Rock who took in my sister, brother-​in-​law and their 6 kids in an unfortunate displacement during Easter weekend. Your generosity, kindness and resourcefulness turned this potentially sad weekend into happy lifetime memories for 8 exceptionally grateful young guests! Thanks especially to Jim Duffy for helping arrange the Easter bunny’s delivery of 8 wonderful baskets! Great job all around because you really went the extra mile!

— Bathroom was poorly lit. I felt like I was taking a shower in the dark.

This hotel is so great, Monica is fantastic and so is all of her staff. We are in transition moving from one house to another, a little stressful situation. Add to that one small dog who is more stressed than the 2 of us. Everyone here has made is so at home and the accommodations from the breakfast to the cocktail hour. A great value and a staff that is over the top.

We stayed one night at this hotel when we moved to Round Rock, only because we got to town too late to get into our new house. The stay itself was fine, nothing special, nothing bad. We chose this hotel because they had vacancies at the last minute and it was advertised as «pet friendly.» When we checked in our dog walked in with us and stood right in front of the desk. Nothing was said about it, and there were no visible signs relating to pets. We spent an uneventful night with the dog in the room, and checked out the next morning, again with nothing said about pets.
A few days after we checked out, I noticed that my credit card had been overbilled by a substantial amount. I called the hotel, and got a «we’ll check it out and get back to you.» Later I got an email that said that the hotel had «discovered» that we had a dog in the room, and we were being billed for a «deep cleaning.» I called the hotel again to protest, and was told that the fee was mandatory, as they would have to «fumigate» the room and shampoo the carpets (no, my dog didn’t make any unwelcome deposits). Then I complained to Marriott, which rerouted my complaint back to the hotel. I got an email in response from a really special a***olé named Jeff Nelson, largely misspelled and incoherent, accusing me of «sneaking a dog into the hotel.» He also found it «hard to belive [sic]» that I was unaware of their pet policy, which by the way is still a mystery to me. Further complaints to Marriott went unanswered.
I guess my advice would be that this hotel is in no way «pet-​friendly,» and their way of handling customer issues is combative and puerile.

It is located a bit out of the way and is about a 20 drive from downtown Austin. That said, the rooms are huge — separate bedroom and living area, kitchen with full fridge. They serve a full hot breakfast with eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, made to order waffles and much more (included with room). Free wi fi too.
The staff was super accommodating and nice. Décor a bit dated but unless you are spending all day at the hotel, it is not a big deal. Great place to stay.
