Well I must say … DELICIOUS. I saw all the amazing reviews, I mean over 1000 reviews and 4.5 stars, obviously this place is doing something right. but I had to find out for myself. I picked up half a dozen donuts, 2 round rock original donuts, 2 maple glazed, 2 custard filled for me and my boyfriend. I had the original glazed when I got home and it was still warm, it was amazing. My boyfriend also loved and devoured them when he got home too. We will definitely be back soon for more!

These donuts are THEBEST, unlike ANY donut anywhere else! My parents try and get me to mail them some to Las Vegas!

Summer Road trip ’16! On our way home from visiting San Antonio, we decided to stop in and find out what all the fuss was about. We were hesitant, and the detour sign did nothing to ease our dismay. However, there were signs posted along the detour indicating that we were going the right way. Our second dismay was the parking. We were about to forego this portion of the trip, but we proceeded forward and discovered that the parking wasn’t so bad after all. We found a spot after a minute of looking. As we approached on foot, we noted the line of waiting people. Again, we were about to end this trip. We figured we’d get pics of the shop and just fib about how good the donuts were! As we were taking pics, one of the employees came out to us and helped us out. I am so happy that we didn’t let anything deter us from these soft, tasty, orange glazed baked goods! The detour, parking, the wait, and the hesitancy melted away at the first bite! It was so worth it! Great location! Fantastic service! Perfectly baked snacks! Find your way to Round Rock Donuts! Bonus: After checking out Round Rock Donuts, visit the other shops and restaurants in the vicinity!

There’s a reason this round rock doughnuts has 1000 reviews and its rating are stellar! Talk about simplicity in doughnuts and perfection! There’s a mix of doughnuts and pastries that included muffins, tea cookies, kolaches and cookies. So what I love about a 5 star doughnut place is a balance of cake donuts and fried donuts and round rock has done that. The blueberry cake is super delicious but you need to get the world famous donut. It was hands down the best donut I’ve ever had. It was warm, a bit flaky because it came out fresh, a perfect chewy bite and ugh the flavor was beyond me. I wonder what the orange color of the dough comes from(wondering if it’s part sweet potato) but nonetheless, best glazed donut in my life. Maple glazed also delicious: it’s a world famous donut with maple icing and just as yummy but a little sweeter because of the icing. The donuts are also super cheap: $ 0.79 for one donut and $ 7.99 for a dozen. Do yourself a favor and get a dozen! Highly recommend Round Rock!

I mean they’ve been on Man versus Food… which is why I wanted to hate them. Sometimes I feel like businesses pay those shows for advertisement. However, you just cannot help but fall in love with these donuts. They are moist. Gosh I hate that word, but they are. The original is the best. The glaze is so unique. If you get a flavor it is on top of the glaze — aka the strawberry is the original w/the strawberry frosting on top. I also really like their donut holes — same as the original, but holes. It’s so hard to describe the flavor so you just need to go. If you like donuts and are near Round Rock you should definitely stop by — but be prepared for a line. I wish someone would have told me that before I went for the first time.

I’m not usually into donuts(more of a muffin person myself, I gotta say) but their donuts are warm and fresh, and I feel the need to 5 this place because of how smooth the process of ordering a birthday donut was. It was a big, fresh donut with neat icing. I ordered it online less than a week in advance, picked it up, and everyone loved it.

I do believe this might be one, if not the only, rare 5-stars I’ve ever given. Only one word comes to mind when I eat a Round Rock donut… HEAVEN! It is the only donut I will waste my calories on. And for a chocoholic I actually prefer the plain one. *gasp!* I know, right?! I don’t think I’ve ever turned down a Round Rock donut. Even IF there are leftovers for the next morning, I just warm it up in the microwave with low power & it is heaven all over again. If you can only stop at one place in Round Rock… make it this one. Sorry, no picture. I inhale the donut before I even get to thinking about taking one. It is pretty sweet, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, it may not be for you, but at least take a bite & find out, before making that kind of decision. :)

OMG! The pictures really don’t do this place justice! I decided to come here on a whim during my trip to Texas, and I have to say I’m still highly impressed. This was my first time experiencing Round Rock Doughnuts and I have to say, everything was on point from the prices, to the taste, and the portions. I opted to get the Texas size doughnut half glazed half chocolate, and two cinnamon rolls to take back home. The doughnut was excellent quality! Melt in your mouth, sweet, and huge. I’ve yet to eat my cinnamon roll due to the size of the doughnut, however my mother says it is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and come here and try these doughnuts! TSA went crazy when they spotted the box, and most people I’ve spoken to from Texas have claimed they are better than Krispy Kreme, so to me that says something!

Donuts are so bad for you, but this place is irresistible. Fried things seem to be a specialty in Texa, so it’s no surprise that we have the best donut. The glazed donuts are made fresh as you order them so you get them hot and perfectly soft. They pretty much melt in your mouth and there is nothing else like it. The Texas size donut is cool to see and resembles a rosca de reyes but in donut form. I personally just order the regular sized ones because they are easier to eat and I would like to think I eat less this way. I have made it a tradition to stop at Roundrock Donuts early in the morning before an Ikea trip and have since associated the two. Be prepared for a long line but don’t let that scare you away. Not only are the donuts completely worth the wait, but the line goes by surprisingly fast. They have a great system in place and very efficient staff working hard to get everyone out as quickly as possible. The glazed donuts are what they are famous for and are a must, but I also love their blueberry cake donuts as well as pretty much anything else there. Parking is also tricky because the lot is not big enough for the amount of customers that show up any given day. I recommend finding parking in the street.

Ordered a birthday cake for my 3-year old daughter for pick-up the day before the party. I went thru the drive-thru to pick it up. I get to the window and they try to give me a graduation cake. The guy goes to look for it, comes back and tells me to park the car and they will bring the cake out. About 7 minutes had gone and no one came out. I went and banged on the front door. The girl inside just ignored me, thinking maybe I would go away. Eventually someone else came out, I told them I was waiting on the cake. He said ‘what cake’ and had no idea what I was talking about. I told him I need to know if it was baked so I don’t waste any more time sitting here. He got an attitude about it and went back to look. Then another person, I believe a manager, came out and asked me for my address and said they would deliver it. The manager called me later and said that someone else in front of me took the cake even though they showed it to him first. They tried to blame the other customer, saying he was picking up the cake for someone else, but in reality, that other customer did not have the same last name as me — the employee brought the wrong cake to the idiot customer staring at their cellphone while paying for their cake. When the manager and his employee got to my house they called me and said, ‘we’re here outside your house’. I said ok, I didn’t here the door bell… I went out to the front porch and they were just sitting in the car, as if I was supposed to walk out to the street to get the cake from them. I waited and they eventually got out of the car, brought the cake just to the bottom of my porch steps to where I could not reach it — you know, something a child would do when you ask them to give you something they are not supposed to have. He didn’t say anything and gave me the clipboard to sign for the cake, and then they just walked off without saying anything. No apology whatsoever.

I had a quick in and out experience in Round Rock on my way from Austin to Arlington, with our only stop being in Round Rock Donuts. Boy, am I glad we went! Being not too hungry in the morning we went, I only opted for one standard glazed donut and I got the order to go. Immediately upon taking my first bite of the donut, I wished that I had gotten some more for the road. I can say without hesitation or exaggeration that it was by far the best donut I have ever eaten in my life. Coming from New England, the donut scene is dominated by Dunkin’ Donuts and there aren’t a whole lot of independent donut shops around. The closest example I’ve had that was anywhere close to a Round Rock donut would be Krispy Kreme, and even that pales in comparison to what I had. The orange-tinted glaze is slightly off-putting at first glance, but the almost light-as-air texture of the donut put any qualms aside and once I bit in, I was in heaven. I plan on making a return to Austin at some point in my life, and when I do, I will make it a point to head up to Round Rock Donuts to get a ton of them!

Really good donuts. Of course they’re popular for the big fat donut but I prefer the original glaze regular sizes. However, you have to try the Texas size. Make sure to let them know it’s your first time. Overall, great service, great people and very welcoming

These donuts rock. The glaze is different than any donut I’ve had before. They’re the airy kind that flatten out when you bite into em, sweet/flakey/slightly crunchy crust which are my favorite. There was a line that wrapped around the building and obstructed traffic, but we parked easily and were only in line for a few minutes. We got 6 glaze, one strawberry with sprinkles, an apple fritter and two drinks. $ 10. Pretty fckn good for kickass donuts. We quickly found a seat on the patio outside and were done in a matter of minutes. Staff was friendly. Good experience. Glad we made this our first stop on our way home to Arkansas. xoxo

OH my goodness !!! I love donuts and have been dying to try RR donuts out for months ! My friend brought me a dozen chocolate and glazed donuts and I demolished them! Even with them being day old, they were still delicious with a quick lil warm up. I look forward to taking a day trip to try them out fresh in the very near future ! These donuts take you back in time, to the donuts you grew up with made with butter and fried to perfection! I didn’t even take a picture, there was no time before eating 4 back to back !! Ha! Love it ! Must try!

I was questionable of all the rumors of a donut, but it is amazingly soft and fluffy! The two times I have visited this place, it was packed. Drive-in cars are around the corner and lobby line was almost out the door. It is doing really well despite it’s rather remote location. The plain donuts are oddly orange, but don’t let that deter you from ordering it. I like the other options, too, but I think the quality of the plain donut is what makes this place so popular… I mean, I felt like I needed to get more when I see everyone order MULTIPLEDOZENS. Nobody came out with any healthy-sized container(well, let’s face it. We’re talking about donuts here, but even so…)

Happy 1000th review! What can I say that hasn’t been said in 999 reviews before? Nothing! But I will say that they have really good donut holes. They say they give a dozen, but every time I get my order it feels like they give double. There’s always so much! The DONUTHOLES are light and fluffy. It can be a bit sweet; so I tend to take my time when I’m eating them. There’s a wait whether you go through the drive thru or inside. Service is friendly and they tend to move quick. Parking spaces are limited; so when it’s super packed it can be hard to find a spot.

I know that there’s a lot of hype regarding these donuts, but they didn’t seem all that to me. Perhaps I’m not much of a donut connoisseur, but these taste like some Korean mom and pop shop donuts to me. I did order a mixture of the original donuts as well as the specialty donuts. I was intrigued by the different variety of donuts that they had. Overall it was a good donut place, but I don’t think I’d drive out all the way here for them.

It’s been five months. five, LONGGG depressing months I’ve been without RRD. I’m absolutely, terribly yearning, some orange sticky glazed, melt-in-your-mouth, perfectly portioned Round Rock Donuts. For .69 cents, you can buy one fabulous looking hole, and for $ 6.99 their Texas Sized Donut can be allll yours. This thing is literally the size of your face, like THISSSSSSS big. First timer? Go for the original. Most definitely. It’s like biting into a doughy cloud immediately melting into your mouth — it’s TOO easy to not to eat just one. Coming during prime time? Be ready to wait in a long line BUT also be ready to receive fresh donuts, yes f-r-e-s-h lip smackin’, warm donuts. All they need to do is have delivery service, and cha girl up in CT will be one happy camper.

Their Texas Size Glazed donut is no joke! This small donut shop was busy inside and out. They had two drive thru lanes that had the line spilling out into the street with their parking full to order inside. Along with their famous Texas Size donut, they also have normal size donuts, muffins, and other pastries for sale. For the Texas Size donut, you can either order it with a traditional glaze or a chocolate glaze. Upon opening the box, I just wowed at the size and thickness of this donut. It had an orange glaze to it, which was different and delicious. Even with the size, the donut was fluffy and not dense. I am so glad I got to try this place out! Whenever I have family or friends visiting, I will definitely take them to Round Rock donuts to experience this Texas Size donut. Everything is bigger in Texas!
