Round Rock Public Library

Two stories of book heaven. They have a very large selection of audio books as well. My favorite part, is the wall of nooks. Places to set up your own little private area to read or use your laptop. The WiFi is fast but they do not have a lot of places to plug things into. In the meantime: Books, BOoks, BOOks, BOOKs, BOOKS! :)

Excellent Librian’s face 2 face service & help to sign up my grandson’s first library card and electronic online access Overdrive, which returns books & all materials on due date. No late charges or lost books — MOM!
While signing him up, they signed me up for my own card, even when I had another library card in a nearby city. This allows me online access to ALL of their books, audio books, magazines & newspapers, What a deal!

Wonderful selection of book. I love how you can get 15 books at first and then upto 50 at once. They have a huge section of books for kiddos which also includes puppets and DVDs. They have several computers and IPads for the kids to play on.
Upstairs is for the adults, which I can’t really rate yet because I’ve only been up there briefly due to 3 kiddos being by my side while I’m here. They do have many computers with Internet access for people to use.

This place rocks. You can search for books online, have them pulled and just pick them up yourself at the Hold Section. There is even a self-​checkout that takes seconds, so there is rarely ever a wait in line.
I get a lot of books for myself/​my hubby and kid books/​DVDs for my little girl. They even have puppets you can check out.
The only reason it’s not a 5 star rating is that the catalog is not as big as the Austin Public Library, the online log in is a pain (14 digit account number, really?!) and parking is sometimes hard because they are on the downtown Round Rock drag.
So, if you want to stop for a beer or a slice of pizza while you’re there, it’s pretty cool… as long as you can get a parking space. Seriously though, they have the nicest people working here and the atmosphere is just what you’d expect in a «nice» library.
I love this place. :)

Love this library. We visit every 2 weeks to refresh our very «eager to read» two year old’s books.
I really appreciate all the board books they have to choose from. The Pflugerville library never had any and Round Rock does. Mom’s with little kids really appreciate it.
I know they work hard to out together fun and interesting events and their efforts do not go unnoticed.
I’m proud to support my local library. They are great!

This library is great. I especially like that the entire downstairs area is not a «shhhhhhhhh!» zone since the better part of it is the kid’s section. They have several computers downstairs and kid computers for the little ones. They have awesome storytimes for babies, toddlers, and school age kiddos. There is a young adult room, movies and puppets, music CDs, and audio books downstairs as well. The upstairs is basically everything else and they have a good amount of computers and study tables. I’ve always found what I need. The online catalog and renewal system is a easy and helpful. The check out system is cool, ask for a keychain card so you don’t even need your card and you just scan it place your books on the pad and ta-​da! I go often for the kid books. Gotta read to the kiddos! Also worth noting the bathrooms are tornado safe rooms.

I love this library! Their summer programs are fabulous, workers are so helpful, and everyone there just seems to really care that you have the best experience while there. They have a snake named Rockssssane and the kids love to go and «talk to» her. Always clean and neat and kid friendly.

I love the Round Rock Library. My family members and I are all big readers, without the Round Rock Library there is no way we would be able to read as many books as we do. There is a huge selection of graphic novels for adult comic book nerds like myself. In addition I have been able to try out many new cook books before deciding whether or not to buy them. While at times I have not been able to find specific novels I am looking for I always walk away with something great. In addition to having helpful librarians and a good lineup of children’s programming, they also have a wide variety of media available for check out. I’m a stay at home dad during the summer and the library has helped provide many hours or entertainment and learning for my kids.

This is my favorite library of all time ever. Tons of community classes, weekly kids programming and the easiest self check out system ever! Interlibrary loan has never been easier

They have a really slick check in/​check out system that rivals the Matrix. (the first one, not the crappy second and third). You just set your books on a black pad, it checks them out to your card on your keychain and you’re outta there.
Super duper awesome kids area with cozy places to read, computers, and a dedicated kid’s librarian desk to help you find the one Pokemon book your kid wants out of the 35,000 shelved books.
They also have great hours! Get your kids here now so they can speak intelligently to these dinosaurs when the only thing that is available in the future are the kindle’s grandkids. Now… get to readin’!

So let’s say that you have your normal library service in Austin and you also happen to spend time in Round Rock. In that case, you need a texshare card (free from APL, renewable yearly) and your APL library card too.
Your Texshare card is used to create an account with RRPL. You don’t have online privileges but you do have many others. Not a bad gig, but I would have loved to be able to reserve online and for a fee, I could have also bought a membership — but since I’m here a couple times a year, I can deal. Your situation may be different.
Your APL number and key fob are then tied to the RRPL account so you don’t need another card! HOW COOL IS THAT. Took maybe 20 minutes to get through line and hooked up, and then I was set loose in the library (which is of course a totally fun time).
They have a huge DVD section and the entire bottom floor seems to be teeming with kids, while the upper floor is a bit more reserved and has more reference folks. I am still getting used to their book placement, but it’s like learning a new grocery store — every library is a little bit different.

I’m so happy to finally have my Texas Star card, so I can go to this awesome library and actually check something out. I’ve been here quite a few times and the place is always busy with well behaved kids. It’s pretty quiet like a library should be. Their reading/​video materials are expansive — much broader than my current library and the staff appear much more pleasant and helpful. Will probably update to 5 stars once I’ve used their services a few more times.

For some reason I am not within their district so they consider me a outsider and that means I would have to pay a fee to check out books for the year or a few months… which doesn’t make sense to me since I live 12 mins away… I have paid the fee once a long time ago but I don’t see how its worth it for me since I can just go out and buy the books then –_–
Well today I needed to print out something and I needed it fast so I took my chances and came here. The guy in the front told me I could use a quest pass to log into the computer and was very informative.
The printing part I was a bit confused with cause it told me I could get my prints downstairs or upstairs. while I was trying to figure it out I saw an employee who was helping a girl get her prints. I asked her how it worked and she was pretty snobby about it but did help me.
They have a machine 10 cents per page and it gives you change so I guess when you understand what to do its very simple and fast cause you don’t have to talk to anyone although I think they should leave instructions somewhere.
Environment was clean, organized and spacious… it was not exactly quiet because of all the clicking the computers were doing.
This place would have been a good place to stay all day and read a good book when I was little but now that I am older I have other things to do and do not have the luxury to and would love to check out the books here …
All the same I would definitely be back to print stuff out

This place is a gem. I am most familiar with the library’s programs for young children (especially «Toddlertime»), and they are excellent. We especially enjoy the enthusiasm of the librarians and the fact that storytimes are offered on multiple days of the week and sometimes a couple times a day. What a fantastic place for (free!) quality time with the kiddos!

Yep, I’m a fan. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Not only do they have a self checkout system, they allow you to get a family card. My family and I can check out 45 items at a time. What a deal!
Of course, they don’t always have a lot of the more current items in stock. However, you can hook up to their Nook or online books. THAT is so super to me!
I love the kid section, too. They have story hours and games to keep the kiddos busy.

In all the cities I’ve lived in… this is the smallest library i’ve ever been to. BUT its probably the most convenient. I love the self check out and the family card lets you check out several items and everything has the same return policy. Even the videos have the same duration. Usually media of that sort requires a quicker return date.
the kids section is on 1^st floor, adults are on 2^nd floor.. still very small. tiny even. But it gets the job done. for the most part. But I guess after having left one of the libraries at UT (1 of their 17 libraries) how can it compare?

Awesome library! My kid loves storytime and if they don’t carry a book you want they can borrow it from another library. Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable.

I enjoy sending time here wondering around and researching different topics, and I like that the quietness upstairs. I spend some time there looking through the books and wonder if I have the time to read everything that I pick up. I like that the online renewal makes it easy if you can’t get the books back in time.

I have decided that I am quickly becoming bored and dissatisfied with the selection here. In my opinion, the fiction section is a bit on the sad side.
The good: three weeks for DVD’s are nice
The bad: there is such a small selection of DVD’s that most of the time I walk out with none
The good: the drive through drop off spot is quite convenient
The bad: it’s only good if you found some books to borrow
The good: I love, love, LOVE the self check out option. Makes things quick and easy.
The bad: half of the time, the thingy that de-​magnitizes (or whatever it’s doing with the fog horn sounds) doesn’t work on DVD sets… resulting in the security buzzer to go off when you leave. Embarrassing!
I yearn for the days of Connecticut libraries where almost everything you’ve ever wanted was available. All you had to do was go online and you could request just about anything, free of charge, from just about any library in the state. And it would get delivered to your town library for you to pick up. You didn’t need to pay for cards for different towns.

As libraries go, this one gets the spiffy points! They are conveniently located in beautiful downtown Round Rock off of Main St with easy access to the best of what the area has to offer.
The staff have always been very friendly and helpful and the library has many ammenities to accomodate most interests. Their book selection is extensive along with having computers upstairs with internet access should you need to get in some more intense research time in the online world.
Another of the libraries spiffy points is having Meetings Rooms that can be rented for various meeting/​events/​get-​togethers at very reasonable prices. Our local Round Rock Star Trek Fan Association has been meeting there for years and we’ve always had great success with meeting room availability and using the ammenities some of the meeting rooms offer.
Nice home-​town library with warm happy fuzzy vibes. If you’re ever in the area, please pay them a visit.
