Love this place! Everything is made from scratch, including the burger buns, ketchup, and salad dressing. My favorite dishes are the fried green tomatoes and the space jam burger. They also have a great brunch menu. The corned beef hash is delicious! As for drinks, I recommend the blackberry mojito and the Mexican martini. The décor is very warm and welcoming, making Svante’s a great place for family meals. Also, the history behind the restaurant is very cool– be sure to check out the story on the menu. There are also some old photos from their family ranch hung on the walls. All in all, Svante’s is a terrific place! A great, family-run restaurant serving fresh and local food. Highly recommend!

I came here thinking about getting a steak but changed my mind once seeing their great hamburger selection. My burger had a chipotle sauce with fresh jalapeños and goat cheese. The fries were served with homemade ketchup that was good too. My only complaint is when I ordered the peach pie with ice cream my pie was as cold as the ice cream leaving a little more to be desired.

Aren’t we all in this for the food? When you strip it all down aren’t we in this for the passion, the commitment to the food?(And I say this as a person who feels strongly that the wrapping on a gift is almost more important than what is inside.) Svante’s is the epitome of making the restaurant revolve around the food. Not one thing that will grace your table is not homemade or homegrown. The ketchup, homemade. The fries, hand cut. The beef, grass fed from their own ranch 3 hours away. The salad, organic greens. The ranch, fresh from scratch. The garlic aoli, scratch. The bacon jam, scratch homemade. There is commitment and appreciation of ingredients in every meal the craft and serve. And you can taste it. The burger is the best in town and inarguably in the Top 5 in Austin. And since I’m a presentation girl, there are no stars lost in this quaint restaurant. It’s a Hometown place, bright, clean, beautifully decorated. Welcoming. If you want an amazing dinner that doesn’t come off a Sysco truck, this is your place. This is not a $ 7 combo meal joint. And given that every ingredient has a labor of love behind it, I feel the prices are very reasonable. Not to be missed: Space Jam Burger(both stuffed and unstuffed are amazing) Homemade Ketchup Homemade Ranch A gem of Round Rock!

Svantes, you are the«diamond in the rough.» I don’t want to knock Round Rock to hard, but there is just so much soul-less food by owners that open a place on the side that just don’t love food as one should to open a food joint. Svantes is the exception, and in my mind, is clearly in the top 2 or 3 best places to eat in Town(maybe number 1!) Not only do I give it 5 star’s in Round Rock, I would give it 5 stars if it was in downtown Austin, or New Orleans, Or New York. The grass fed beef stands on its own, it’s some of the best flavored beef I have had. It is the star, and should be the star, front and center stage. But, what makes Svantes actually special is that its supporting cast is just as strong. Everything is homemade, from scratch, and with soul and flavor. My Burger had Homemade Bacon Jam that had amazing flavor counter balanced with a homemade aioli that was a near perfect counter balance. My hand cut fries came with homemade Ketchup, that was one of my favorite ketchup I have ever had! I feel like I am on the price is right«but that is not all, so come on down!» The salad I had was perfect… I noticed the hand picked red onion, and I enjoyed the light dill added to their very flavorful homemade ranch dressing. Svantes makes soulful food from scratch with flavor and purpose. You are missing out on the best food in Round Rock by not eating here, and you should not do that to yourself. I don’t write a ton of reviews that give such a positive and solid 5 stars, but Svantes deserved it.

The staff is friendly, and they were sweet to my toddler nephew, giving him a toy to play with while waiting for our food. Took a while for food to come out– +20 mins. Had to request a separate order of fries ASAP to feed the baby. Though they have gluten free options, the lettuce bun could not hold the burger and certain sauces are omitted if you request a lettuce wrap in lieu of the bun– they could be offered on the side for dipping. The farm fresh veggies and eggs sold through their store is probably the highlight of this place.

Uggghhhhhh. I’m so torn. So very torn. Consider this review a caution… I’ve been to Svante’s twice now. The first experience was so horrendous that the manager apologize and refused to let us pay.(One entrée was sent to us with HUGE globs of fat and two pieces of actual meat) The second visit was about two hours before closing and the place was pretty quiet. We couldn’t help but here several complaints from numerous guests. «This is the wrong drink» to «I didn’t order this burger…» to «its been 45 minutes… will our food be ready soon?» Yeah *cringe*. We ordered a Space Jam burger and a Bleu Cheese burger. Both were most excellent. Like, I licked my fingers in delight, good. No joke. Two beers and two burgers plus a very long wait for food came out to $ 50 for two people. That just seems a little steep. IDK, friends. Good luck!!! May the food force be with you!

Food was very good but i cannot give 4 or 5 stars because of what happened and what I saw in restroom after my meal. I saw an employee did not washed their hands after she used the restroom. that to me it is just disgusting people can really get sick. Sorry but i will not return to this place.

My wife, daughter and I stopped in for burgers one evening, and we were one of only four tables occupied. The restaurant was clean, and nicely decorated, and the staff was attentive(like I said, only four tables…). The food was good, but $ 50+ for three burgers & three drinks makes this place too steep for a «burger place». I’m not a «value diner» looking for platters of food for $ 2.99, but I just don’t feel that the price was worth what we received. I understand the freshness, local beef, etc., and I appreciate it, but I wonder if the rent in this premium location drives prices higher than what they will be able to sustain. I wish Svante’s best of luck, and hope they have a long future. I might be back, but I won’t be a regular.

Wow was this a bummer. After reading all the reviews we thought we would satisfy our burger craving here. I was wrooooong. Bun dry Meat tasteless, dry Sliders, three burgers with about 1 ounce of meat, ordered medium served well done. Note grass feed beef is too dry for well done. Four of us had a burger none of us will go back. 80 dollar meal. We thought it off there were only a few tables at 6:30 now we know why.

Svante’s Ranch Direct is located directly across the street from the Brass Tap and I honestly cannot believe I have never really noticed it. I was craving a good burger and after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Svante’s is a farm-to-table restaurant with most of their ingredients locally sourced. Between that and the beef being grass fed, I am happy to give them my business. I had lunch here on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty slow. Not sure how packed it gets on a weekend, but it would be a great place to enjoy a hearty dinner. Immediately upon walking in, we were met by the bartender was really friendly and personable. The decorum really reflects the character of the restaurant and the ambiance was very relaxing. Onto what everyone really wants to hear about: the food. They serve American food, so burgers, stews, steak, sandwiches, etc. To start, we ordered the stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms are stuffed with kale, Italian sausage, and goat cheese, which sounds amazing; unfortunately, they were not quite as good as they sounded. They were good, but there was more sausage than anything and it really eclipsed the flavor profile. Personally, I would have preferred more of the goat cheese. When the entrees came out, I was more satisfied. We ordered two burgers: the Space Jam and the Texas Pride Burger. The bartender had recommended the Space Jam and I can say it was the stronger of the two. It comes with pepper jack cheese, garlic aioli, greens, and a sweet bacon onion jam. I was not sure initially about the jam, but it was sweet and savory and really added a unique flavor. It truly was a delicious burger and I would recommend it. The Texas Pride Burger was served with smoked cheddar, jalapeño, pickles, and BBQ sauce. The burger was cooked perfectly and while it was good, it was not spicy enough for my taste. I cannot necessarily dock them for that since I am a fiend for spicy food, but I would have preferred this burger have more of a kick. Do not let this turn you off though if you are someone whom is more sensitive to spicy food though. Overall, a great restaurant and I will be back. Any place that is farm-to-table, serves grass fed beef, and has great food and service deserves repeat business. I will need to try more of their menu before I can decide if I would give them 5 stars, so 4 from me in the interim.

I had been wanting to check Svante’s out and after another recommendation from my manicurist I knew I had to go. After picking up my husband and daughter from the airport I knew I had to sell him on the idea and on to roundrock we went. Wife 1 Husband 0. Svante’s brick and mortar is located in a super cute area of roundrock. It sort of reminds me of downtown Georgetown. When we walked in the place was empty. I walked to the back of the restaurant to find a woman on her cell phone who apologized for not greeting us. It was really no big deal. We’re all human and the place was dead. The décor was super cute. It gave me a very homey feeling. Like I was on a ranch, lol. We were seated and placed our drink order. I ordered a magnus margarita. I later learned the man making my drink was part of the Svante family. He really took his time making it. The margarita was delicious with just the right amount of liquor. For our food we went with the stuffed mushrooms as a starter, space jam burger, Texas Philly cheese steak and chicken tenders and fries for the little one, because trying to get her to eat anything else right now is like pulling teeth, Ahhh! While waiting for our food a women walked in inquiring about the restaurant. This is how I learned about the history of Svante’s. The gentlemen really took his time explaining the story of how it all started. You could tell he was really passionate about it. Another older gentleman came over to check on our table. He was very friendly and after learning we were military brought us free tickets to the Austin Spurs military appreciation night. All the food came out together. I would usually prefer the appetizer come out prior to the meal, but we were starving so we didn’t mind. The mushrooms were delicious. I’ve never had kale before(I know I must be living under a rock), so I was a little apprehensive, but it blended pefectly with the cheese and delicious sausage. My husband did nothing but rave about his burger and homemade ketchup. I must say the ketchup is amazing. The only thing I can compare the texture to is salsa. My Texas cheesesteak was equally good, but I must say they really outdid themselves with the chicken tenders. I probably ate more of my daughter’s meal than she did. I know bad mommy, but I couldn’t help myself. The chicken tenders were perfectly cooked and the homemade ranch OMG. So much buttermilk perfection. I would bathe in it if I could talk Svante’s into selling it by the jug, lol. We also got a 10% military discount but I later saw on their facebook page this was a discount they were offering that week, so I’m not sure when we go in again if we’d get it. Bravo Svante’s. You’ve done an amazing job and we’ll definitely be back.

Man, I really hate saying the redundant, «I really wanted to love this place» reviews, but if it fits, then damnit, use it. I was hoping to have my socks blown off with this burger experience, but it was just good. I love a stuffed burger. RIP to «Moms Buger Bar”– and beings we’re in RR, Svantes is the only place I know of that offers that. I didn’t know to what extent, but we were told they stuff them with cheese if you go «Magnus» style. That sounded all kinds of gravy, except that the burger standard is already $ 12 minimum– to add it stuffed, its an additional $ 3. Klawt?! I LOVE the fact that its a good, clean beef, but shit, $ 15 for a burger, with a husband AND2 kids eating too. yeah, not today. I ordered the Bleu cheese burger, minus the sauteed mushrooms. It was a wonderful, wonderful burger itself, but I swear it was missing bleu cheese? It didn’t have crumbled bleu cheese, that’s for sure. The spicy chipotle aioli did not do it for me. and it was too much. I scraped it off– but it saturated the bun. Oh well. at the least the burger itself was lovely. The bread however, I agree with others, is too much. My bun was a little dry tasting, and wasn’t soft, or buttery– like. It was too much, and it stuck to what cheese I DID have on the burger. Too much! I opted for the sweet potato fries, and they were pretty tasty! My husband had the All American, and had no complaints. He didn’t care for the fries– they seemed baked and dry, rather than fried and greasy. LOL But, fries need grease! My boys ordered from the kids meal, and had sliders and mac. Both of them loved their orders. The sliders are def not large, but with the side of fries, they walked out full. 2 burgers w fries, 2 side salads, 2 sweet teas &2 kids meals came to $ 53. A lot more than I anticipated. We bounced between here and Mooyah, and while the service was fantastic, the ambiance was lovely, for $ 53, I would have rather gone to Mooyahs. I’d return, yes, but I know now what to order, and to come as a date night, rather than a family dinner.

I never got to venture out to the food truck, so I was super excited when I heard Svante’s was opening a brick and mortar location in Round Rock! I have to say that these guys nailed it. I have been raving about this place for the past four days to all of my friends and family. My mouth is still watering thinking about the Space Jam burger(bacon jam = best invention ever). And the homemade bun is the perfect addition(it almost tastes like the combination between a pretzel and a Hawaiian bun, but less sweet). This burger is absolutely incredible and it truly is as good as everyone says. Don’t forget to add the sweet potato fries! Hope to be back in soon!

Svante’s is a restaurant doing it right in Round Rock, TX. I was so incredibly impressed with their food quality and staff when I ate there for dinner. +Get the burger upgrade and stuff it. You won’t regret it. +Enjoy their sauces(ex: dressings, ketchup)…they are all homemade in their kitchen and delicious. +Come for brunch. The chef told me himself that he is constantly developing his menu and that brunch is a must-do. This is the newest and hottest farm-to-table restaurant in downtown Round Rock without the downtown Austin snobbery. It’s fresh and good and you need to go. P. S. The reason I docked a star is because the server gave us an appetizer that we didn’t order and then charged us for it. We tried to send it back to the kitchen but she said it was ‘on the house’ yet it showed up on the bill at the end of the meal. I mostly blame myself for not speaking up about the error so it’s really more on me than on Svante’s that I walked away paying for it. I would still go back to eat there again because the overall experience and food was so good!

If you’ve read anything about these guys then you pretty much get their connection to Austin and Texas. If not check out their web page. I love that the meat is grass fed. Big score there. My server was very friendly, so another big score. I ordered the classic American. I’m just not into all the creative fancy crap when it comes to burgers. You can’t go a la carte here so I was forced to have fries. I’m just not a fry person and theirs are really nothing to brag about except that they are crispy. I ordered my burger medium with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard and American cheese. They were out of that cheese so I got pepperjack. The patty itself was quite tasty. I did enjoy it. As for the burger over all? I was more underwhelmed than impressed. There was too much lettuce. It was like they were using it as a filler. I pulled most of it off. Instead of a slice of onion(which is what I was told they use) they put two ringlets on it. Why bother? Lastly the bun was over kill. Too much chewy bread for me. Over all this was a burger fail. Much better burgers out there to be had. Maybe if I did this paleo style I would enjoy it. I dunno. Perhaps, but, they’d have to give me a full slice of onion. I really get disappointed with places that under utilize the flavor of the onion on a burger.

Fresh, friendly, and delicious. My wife and I had the Beef Tongue Tacos(sounds nasty, but totally the opposite) and the Space Jam burger, which was out of this world. The Michael Jordan of burgers(had to go there with the name of the movie reference), having that last bite of the burger was just as satisfying as when MJ extended his arm for the winning basket for the win against the Monstars. Totally recommend this place, next time I come to town I will be coming here to grab a nice juicy burger! Side note: the restaurant served grass fed, hormone free meat.

Wanted to try a local round rock spot. Very interesting it’s like a hopdoddy but not as good. The different burger styles remind me of hopdoddy. The beef is good, I like how they have there own ranch. The bun was very sweet tasting not to keen of that in burgers. I feel this place should be 3.5 stars. The price for what it is, overpriced. The amount of food you get is my reasoning. I probly won’t be back but glad I got to try it out.

This was literally one of the best burgers we have had in awhile! This was a food truck that went brick and mortar, they have a ranch that they source their grass fed beef from as well as their farm fresh eggs and they make their own bread! They have wonderful service right now, everyone was attentive and gave good suggestions on the menu. We really wanted to try the burgers although they had chicken fried steak as a nightly special which changes and we were tempted to try that as well but we stayed true. I got the space jam burger, not stuffed(If you get a stuffed burger it will be HUGE and we wanted to try two different burgers) and ordered it medium rare as the suggestion of our server. Honey got a Texas Pride burger medium rare as well. We tried the deviled eggs with bacon as an appetizer. The eggs were good, didn’t have the relish flavor but the saltiness was made up with the bacon. My space jam burger was out of this world! The bun was amazing and the onion jam was perfect, it was a little sweet but savory. The burger… wow, it was amazing and I gobbled it up, something I never do with burgers. The texas pride burger was also very good but I liked my space jam burger better. We would definitely be returning, they also do brunch! They also have a full bar with local draft beers, specialty cocktail and wine! It is a lovely space tucked into downtown Round Rock and a welcome addition.
