The following is my experience with TruGreen
They were inconsistent with applications. I signed up for applications every 4 – 6 weeks. They claimed a «weather delay» on a bright sun shiny day (no rain in the past 24 hours). It was over 8 weeks and I was still on the phone with them trying to get service scheduled. They had me on the schedule for a «free application» on a Wednesday and no one showed up. I had them apply fire ant protection and the first application failed and they did show up to reapply and that did work. I am no longer a client.

When you get your yard aerated, there should be big clumps of dirt all over the yard and deep holes. Our holes are maybe a quarter of an inch deep and maybe cover half the yard. Waste of money for a less than half ass job.

I had their service last year. Was told I would receive a call 24 hours before they would show so I could unlock my gate to the backyard. Never got the call, but came to service my yard and left a card indicating they treated both my front and back yard and was told I received treatment for a specific grass that I do not have. I was rather confused and called to cancel my service even though they never treated my backyard with their only treatment they refused to give me the full or partial refund.

Can only comment on quote process, did not get service. This was the only company that would not visit yard, provided quote by GPS photo by fast talking salesman in Florida. Did not want to discuss my concerns, only their «experts» opinion of the services I need based upon my location. Pushed for annual contract and the $ 70 dollar discount I would get. Asked for written estimate, but never received.

If I could give them a ½ star, not sure I would even do that. Yard was 10 times worse after their treatments, finally had enough when they charged me for aeration, but I just happened to be working in my garage all day, and nobody came to do a service. I called the company and refused to pay for a service I did not get, and was informed that they would send a representative out to check on my lawn. I was home all day, and received a call about 10 min to 5 saying that they would come tomorrow instead. I immediately called and cancelled my service. That was 6 months ago, and I am still getting calls about when they can schedule a service for my lawn. Each time they call, I tell them that I have cancelled my service, but still the calls…
Bad business practices, poor customer service, and will charge you for services not provided… never, ever use this service!!!

I had the service for few months and in November when the guy came in for service, I told him I wanted to cancel my service. He asked why and I asked if the lawn is better than before? He agreed the lawn has gotten worse in the neighborhood after the service. They should be ashamed to put their sign on my lawn. Their representative called and I made sure to cancel my service. Worse was yet to come as they continue charging and spraying more junk. On Jan20, their rep called and asked if I wanted to free my lawn from ants and I told them the service had been cancelled. On Jan 21, their people came again and did some service and changed me. When I called on Friday to find out what is going on, they said cancellation is not in their record.
Record your call when you cancel the service as they are big crooks in my opinion. I had paid for it. Lawn will be messed up with whatever chemicals they put on, and make you pay for the damage also.
True green is because the only thing growing will be true green weeds :-)

No way! I hired TruGreen for the 10 visit service. The first service was aeration. I happened to be home when the young man came to aerate. He circled the perimeter of our yard and maybe made one or two trips across the middle of our large yard. I called TruGreen for a complete refund. As of now, they are refunding all but the aeration. That won’t do. Also, the local fellow told me that if I had booked directly through him, I would have gotten a better price. Believe me, we’re not happy. Very poor business practices.

Worst ever! My lawn is 100x worse than when they started. I’ve had them come out again and nothing happened. They never knock on the door but throw the invoice at my gate. Now my HOA is barking at me because these clowns did a terrible job. It’s been a few months too. We take care of our lawn with watering but I’m on medical leave and I’m unable to do the work myself. I feel like my family was taken advantage of and they are not helping me at all. I should have gone with Emerald Lawns but I trusted the sales guy Bob. I guess that’s my mistake. Seriously… these guys will only steal your money and kill your lawn. All I want is for them fix my lawn and refund me my money. I shouldn’t have to pay a dime until it’s showing results.

Bad, bad customer service. Wouldn’t come out to give me a quote on my yard. Insisted they could do it via GPS. Was told, «We will tell you what is wrong with your yard once we have you under contract.» Uh… no

TruGreen serviced my rental property for over 8 months without every informing me of any lack of progress until we visited the property. I received a phone call after I cancelled the service trying to offer discounts and perks. I asked for my money back due to their lack of communication, professionalism and integrity. Of course, they refused any time of recompensation. Thieves!

Beware. This business will gladly rob you blind. We went into a contract with this company for treating our lawn every two months. We agreed on a fee for each visit, and the number of visits allowed for a year. Within three months, they had made all of the visits for a year and charged us for them. They wanted to continue to come out and charge us. The last straw for me was when they called to ask if they could aerate my lawn and I told them NO. They did it anyways and charged us. Now they will not quit calling us!

This is the worst case of customer service I’ve seen in years. Not smart with online reviews these days. They were a no-​show/​no-​call the first visit. Sent us an invoice for aeration and never actually scheduled it. 6 un-​returned calls to customer service and Bob Hossle, the sales rep who assured me I should call him with any questions/​comments/​needs anytime. Just called Scott’s today. They’re cheaper and hopefully know how to run a good business. Fingers crossed.

We had service from TruGreen since May. Our lawn program was supposed to included pre-​emergent and targeted weed control, but crabgrass shot right up and continued to spread regardless of their treatments.
We called twice to ask them to treat for the weeds, and still the problem got worse. It finally got so bad we had to rip up the affected section of lawn and re-​sod.
After trying to upsell us on aeration for the second time (even this far into the season), we decided to call it quits.

Very satisfied with quality of service. I initially thought he was pulling my leg about the grass gonna be so green and the best lawn on the street. Well so far so good. Not sure who these folks, that are complaining, dealt with but I would highly recommend this company.

I have been with Truegreen for over 7 years and my yard looks worse now than it ever has. I have had several techs and an inspection manager by the name of George Espinosa out only to find out that Truegeen is not willing to assist in helping to make my yard look better. I continue to receive calls from Truegreen trying to set up and aeration treatment to help get the yard looking better, but they are not willing to assist with the treatment in any way. I have left several messages for Mr. Espinosa this week, and I still cannot get him to return my call. Truegreen’s customer service is absolutely horrible, it is almost impossible to get someone on the phone that has any authority to offer any type of solution. I will be cancelling my service and searching for another lawn company.

i have been using True Green’s services for over several years now and my lawn does great in the crazy Texas weather. I no longer have to pull any weeds. The weeds are just gone. Excellent customer service and ease of website for account activities such as payment. I must add that if you do not give your lawn a few years to recover from poor care, don’t criticize True Green, they can’t fix your yard in one season, it takes time and TLC and True Green will provide that care.

Judging the photos, a person would assume that after paying for the 6 or 7 treatments a year and following their techs guide would provide similar results to the beautiful, perfect lawns that must have been posted by trugreen.
The real results are much different.
My lawn is completely full of weeds, broadleaf, clover, stinging nettle, some things with yellow flowers, and it has almost been taken over by crab grass. My lawn is the worst in my neighborhood.
Trugreen states that they offer an individual lawn analysis and an individual treatment plan. The treatment plan is always the same,“Water one inch a week.” I’ve seen about five different techs spray my lawn, and every one seems coached in what to say, because they always say the exact same thing.
I also payed for fire ant treatment which is guaranteed for a year. They sprayed, 5 days later the ants were back, I called and they sprayed again. I cancelled my lawn contract with them a couple of months later, and when I got around to calling for my prepaid, guaranteed fire ant treatment again, they said it only applies to contracted customers, and my prepaid treatment was cancelled.
I had Trugreen treatment for 4 years, my lawn is worse than ever. It would seem that TRugreen puts «weed seed» in their spray. I spent over $ 1900 on treatments, my lawn looks like hell.

If I could have given half a star I would have. Fredrick came out and promised me the moon and the stars. When they came out to treat, the wrong treatment was given and the aeration was not done as we discussed. I tried to contact the field rep multiple times and he never returned any of my calls. I called customer service and they never followed up or came back out as they said they would. DO NOT use this service. I’m calling Scotts TODAY.

I’ve cancelled their service yrs ago. Lawn never improved with their service. Now I’m getting MULTIPLE calls from an 877−340−9902. The moment I say I’m not interested they hang up. Next day another phone call. I’ve repeatedly told them to stop calling. Does no good. Very shady operation to say the least.

Although they are very good at answering and making sales calls, their customer service is quite poor. They give you a reminder call for treatments and then no one shows up. I called the office and was assured that I would receive a call from a manager but no one called. Tired of this from them after years of paying them. I’m looking for someone else.
