If you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer in a great atmosphere… this is a great place! The food, however, is nothing special! My husband and I went for the pizza and salads, which are raved about, but we are sadly disappointed. This is a bar with bar food, not a restaurant.

I have been here a few times now and I can say this is one of the best places to go in Round Top. The pizza is always great, the sangria is delicious and the atmosphere and friendly people make it an absolute pleasure. Order anything you see with the candied jalapeños. They are very tasty and made locally. If you can, plan to go on a night when they have live music. It makes it that much better. If you are stupid(like someone who left a negative review after customizing their pizza to basically be a salad), you may just want to stay in the city and go to your favorite vegan place. The rest of us will be just fine without you.

02/14/2016 My sister and I left Austin after a road trip from Corpus Christi and found ourselves driving through Round Top as we were curious about so much we had heard about this town. Found«Stone Cellar» and saw it was opened in the middle of the day. Stopped and ordered two glasses of wine. We were treated«royally» by the staff. We began asking questions about upcoming Spring Market Days. We were introduced to the Owner, Jon Perez, who graciously took us on a tour of the Dance Hall next door to the Stone Cellar and the grounds. He explained the historical significance of the«Depot» where Stone Cellar is now and the Dance Hall next door. We were given a first hand tour and couldn’t have been treated more special! We ended up spending about 6 hours with these wonderful folks and look forward to returning very soon! Cowgirl Hats Off to these Wonderful People in this Wonder Place! Hope you get a chance to visit Stone Cellar and the Dance Hall in Round Top during their Spring Show or anytime you are just passing through!!! Always so much to see and do in this very special part of Texas!!!

We had a great time here! My man and I came into town for the annual Nutcracker and stopped here for some beer & pizza before the show. I love that they have lots of local beers and the mead wine was very unique! The margarita pizza filled us up and we had a lovely time watching the rain from the huge covered patio. John, the owner, was very friendly and the staff was extremely helpful and cheery. I’m surprised to see the passion reviews to the contrary, because we really liked this joint.

Good pizza, good beers, great live entertainment and TVs for watching some sports. And of course the perfect setting. You can’t go wrong! For the people on here complaining about your stupid custom pizza orders, get over yourself. This is a bar in a small town. Your lucky they even have pizza. Go crawling back to the city if you don’t like it!!!

4 stars for the fact that the population of this cute little town of Roundtop, TX is 90, yes only 90. They have tons of visitors but how can you pay the rent on that. My only suggestion is they add larger pizzas for big groups. Maybe some chicken tenders and burgers, more salad options. Service is friendly, live band on the weekends and a nice selection of tap beers and wines makes it hard to beat.

After Royers had a 45 minute wait, and not knowing about any other restaurants in Round Top — and starving — we went to Stone Cellar. We both got the Classic House salad — $ 11 and was served on a foam plate, which is smaller than a normal size paper plate. We also both ordered grilled chicken to be added for an additional cost of $ 4 each. Obviously bringing this basically $ 5 – 6 value salad up to a whopping $ 15. Not bad you say? For starters it was basically a handful and a half of lettuce/spinach. 2 small slices of tomato. A few shreds of cheese and a huge handful of boxed croutons. Last, but VERY least, for my extra $ 4 I was given approximately 2 tablespoons of what appeared to be the Tyson pre-grilled chicken from the deli section of Kroger. It was the most hungry I have ever been after spending $ 15(plus tip!). Never ever again. Will bring my own food to the antique show.

Awesome building and atmosphere. Owners are very nice and the food is good. We had nachos. Definitely try it!

Great local bar with a fantastic selection of Texas beer. They have average pizza but it’s a great thin crust pizza that compliments lots of beer. The owner walks around at night and socializes with patrons and will talk to anybody. They also have great live music on some days.

I had a custom order pizza of half cheese half veggies without cheese which I get Is a difficult order. But I was really disappointed. I could hardly even call it pizza. It’s all about the bad crust. I think it might have been a tortilla and it cost $ 15! It was really bad. Totinos is is better. I had it take out and so when a large pizza was more like a few crackers with things on it I ended up crafting a meal out of stuff in my car that was better.

Got in out car and drove with not destination. Stumbled upon this hidden gem. Was just passing through so we ordered a small pizza to share, delicious– I wanted more! Nice beer and wine selection. The atmosphere was very comfortable and quiet. Loved all the open doors and for the time of the year there was a cool breeze. We will be back!

This place must survive off of rich Houstonians who think it’s quaint to overpay for obviously frozen food and horrible service. We should’ve stuck with our tradition of going to Royer’s instead.

Very unfriendly and rude! The minute we entered the place last night we did not get a friendly vibe from the male and female workers at the bar. I hope they are not the owners. They need to be let go immediately if this is the way they treat customers. I am sure their day was busy being the antique show is in full swing, but come on people… get a grip. I could not even believe how bad the customer service was and I will not return due to this. The pizza was an 8 on a scale of 10 and the beer selection was decent. My friend wanted to take back her $ 4 tip, but didn’t LOL. The band was really good. Nice outdoor seating area.

Unlike other Unilocalers we had a grand time. I wanted to photograph the sites, and chill, ordered some type of sangria, some type of dark german beer(were allowed to taste test first), a supreme pizza with extra crunchy crust. The food was delivered to our table outside, weather was awesome and was a beautiful break from the mundane,

Nope. Just nope. The service here was so distasteful that we actually walked out instead of placing an order. The SO and I were in Round Top for an afternoon of small town-ness and a concert at the Festival Institute, and we thought a glass of wine would be a good pre-game plan. We stepped into Stone Cellars and it seemed nice enough. We approached the right side of bar, and found two female bartenders casually chatting with a few patrons seated in stools. After standing there for a few minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff, we started to get a little antsy. While we were waiting to be acknowledged by one of the two unoccupied bartenders, a big old dude walked up to the far end(left side) of the bar, and ordered a beer. Just like that, the bartender served him, without giving us a glance. After the big old boy left, the bartender turned to us, and said, «You can come over to this side of the bar if you want us to take your order.» No, I don’t think so. F’ that. We stared at her, and then we stared down at the empty portion of the bar in front of us. Then, we simply walked out of the place without another word to her. Stone Cellar, this is how you’re going to treat your patrons? Making us feel unimportant and unworthy of service? It’s not like there were any«order here» signs posted, so we weren’t breaking any sort of obvious rule. You run a bar. You’re behind the bar. I’m in front of the bar. Just take my freakin’ drink order like every other normal bar transaction.

Overpriced and very average. Salad was good, but way overpriced. I have made better pizza at home. Great venue if you like to sit outside and listen to live music. Good wine and beer list. Next visit I will have a glass of wine and listen to some tunes.

This place is a hole ! All the staff are on drugs & wear in appropriate clothing. The food is prepared by a crack head in the kitchen

We stopped for dinner in Round Top after the antiques show. Recommended by someone in town. Won’t go back. No service to speak of. You place your order at the bar. Wine is served in plastic cups. You can order an individual pizza or 10 inch pizza. We ordered individual and the crust is noticeably different on the individual size pizzas versus the 10 inch. The 10 in liiks much more appetizing. They brought the wrong pizzas. I will say that their Stone Cellar branded wines are quite good but that’s the best I can say.

Absolutely love this place. We stopped here because we thought it was a winery but it isnt. We fell in love and enjoyed it so much we are planning a birthday celebration weekend there. They have a full bar and the guy bartending was super friendly. We met the owner and he is very friendly as well. They have a pretty decent menu. We had the personal sized pizza and shared it because we didnt want to get too full and it was crispy and fresh. The Sangria was good. It had a tad too much orange juice in it for my taste but that was my drink of choice while we were there. They have a cute patio and bands play there very frequently.

Don’t waste your time reading these old reviews! Went last nite and my wife went to a party there today. There is NO service provided. You have to go to the bar to order and pick up all drinks. They will deliver your pizza which has certainly been frozen prior to delivery. It took us twenty minutes to pay our bill last nite. had to wait in line behind all the people trying to get drinks from the one bartender! The WORST. Don’t waste your time or money!
