Giant Rowland Heights

The mechanic comes off as a snob. Everytime I need work done the prices go up. My bike has turned to shit since I went for a tune-​up one year after I bought the bike. I can no longer get out of first gear, and I can no longer go uphill. I brought it back and was told that I had to replace everything since nothing works. I will no longer step foot in this store and will be seeking out another bike repair shop.

I recently had some pretty major work done on my mountain bike. (Replaced the frame.) Hank and the tech crew at Giant Rowland Heights did a fantastic job. They answered all my questions and kept me in the loop the whole time my bike was in their shop. Great people, and stellar work.

Frank is the homie always takes care of you love that guy. Got my mtb there and I love it first time paying that much for a bike Dow but it’s all good best bike I have ever had NO PROBLEM like the homie Frank says…

Honestly I cannot say why one would come here when prices at the other bike stores in the surrounding area are so much more competitive. I’ve been here twice, and while the staff seemed cordial the initial visit, the second visit was as such–
–walk in, greeted by no one yet with 3 staff around you would expect a little bit more attention
–whatever, I’m not the kind of guy that expects free handouts anyways
–ask for out the door price for a new tire, tube for my mountain bike
–worker who has a hard time understanding English begins to feel frustration at me for the apparent lack of communication (l0l)
–after he finishes the aformentioned work, he then adds a $ 15 dollar service charge that apparently he didn’t think belonged in the original estimate
–at this point, I am still not phased
–calmly proceed to ask him why it was not in the original estimate, when I had asked specifically how much everything would cost, and that I only had enough money for the original estimate he gave me
–the only thing he is trying to communicate to me at this point is his frustration and keeps telling me «if you want cheaper, do yourself»

The only good thing I have to say about this place is the owner, Hank, who only caught on towards the end of the situation after I confronted him personally about he situation. He seemed to feel that it was an unfortunate situation and communicated clearly, and sympathetically to me that he would leave the bike and give it to me when I had brought the full amount on the invoice
Apart from the one terrible experience here, the only qualm I have at this point is the fact that this place charged me literally over twice the amount that another bike shop in chino did, and I might add that the other bike store cleaned, and oiled my gears and chain, and also tightened my brake lines and pads free of charge.

Giant has great service and a lot of bikes to view on the floor. Hank was very knowledgeable of the bicycles and gave great advice in trying to determine which bike to get. The mountain bike I got was on sale for roughly around $ 360 – 400 which was really good considering that they could run up to +$ 600 – 1,000 for a decent mountain bike. You can also test ride it behind the shop, and the staff will help you with any adjustments you need.
They also have a warranty here (I think a year) but I haven’t needed to bring it back yet. hopefully I don’t have any trouble with this later on like some of the other reviews I’ve read…
Overall, really happy with service!

Hank is by far the nicest type of people you can ever meet. He is patient with my tons of questions. He worked with me on my project and after price checking, Giant RH is by far the store to go to. The girls working the floor are super nice, pretty smiles eager to help.
Huge selection, friendly service and a complete work station with a dude in the back I’ve seen twice drop what he is doing to fix a bike on the spot!
Ask for Hank. You won’t be dissapointed. I’m a very satisfied customer. Ps I don’t even live remotely close to the area. But it’s worth the drive.

Walked in and was pretty impressed with this shop. Nice interior, products, and professional staff. The guys fixing the bikes know their stuff, and they sell parts, apparel, and accessories in the store. I like how the staff is pretty humble, and they aren’t badgering you to buy their stuff. I had a lot of questions and they helped me find exactly what is was looking for even if I wasn’t planning to buy anything. I’m was looking for a commuter bike to take out of state. Its in an strip mall populated by a lot of Asian retailers. The staff always have bilingual staff for English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Taiwanese on the floor as well. Overall… it was a good experience

Worst experience ever. I usually don’t write reviews but this time I need to get my words out there. Last year I brought my Tubular tires there for an installation, owner quote me $ 15 for the install. fair price I was happy that I found a shop locally that can work on my bike.
Last week, I brought my punctured wheels in for a tube replacement. This time the owner is not there, so the mechanic quote me $ 20 plus the glue. I was like OK fine, price went up but still fair. So this week I brought them another wheel in for the tube replacement. This time the owner is there but on the phone. He told the employee to check with the mechanic because he doesn’t know how much to charge. Well, after few minutes he couldn’t get a hold of the mechanic so THE OWNER just said it’s going to be $ 50
Really? $ 50 for a tube replacement? WTF?
What a contrast between now and when they first opened. Bad business, will never visit this shop in my life again. Terrible, visit at your own risk.

Way overpriced. Pair of road bike gloves were $ 25. I could get similar if not better pair of gloves in amazon or ebay. Plus side is that all the products were very extensive. Also have a a nice service station. The tune up service is very pricey.

Was not impressed with the women’s bike selection, at all. The two female sales associates working this past Saturday morning did not try to help with selection and didn’t seem knowledgeable about the slim selection they did have on hand. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Too bad, because I had money to spend and was looking to purchase that day.

Poor return and/​or exchange policy. They sold a bike rack that did not fit my car per the manufactures manual. Went back to exchange or return and was denied. Prices are over-​inflated. I later checked Sports Chalet and they had the rack for $ 40 less. Do not buy from this place. From now on I’m buying from Performance Bike in Pasadena or Ontario. Only reputable stores honor and guarantee what they sell.

Rip off alert. Bought new bike, after one month tire tube had a factory defect. Owner wouldn’t honor warranty and told me to call Giant USA. Then changed story to the problem being a thorn from a tree. Really?!?

Beautiful, pretty big shop. Unfortunately, the bike I wanted to look at they didn’t have in stock but could order it for me. I will not buy something without checking for size and fit first.
Language barrier didn’t help-couldn’t get a catalog or an idea from the Woman working if and when they would have one in stock to try out. I will have to find another bike shop that carries Giant.

Hands down best customer service, Hank is extremely knowledgable with bikes. I went in for a Tune up and there are three levels of tune ups depending on what your bike needs. In my situation my bike needed a lot of work and Hank recommend the second level tune up which he explained exactly what he was going to do in detail. As a customer I am extremely happy with the work that was done to my bike.

Awesome bicycle shop specializing in giant products. I walked in and was amazed with the layout and variety of goods. Bought some giant cycle jerseys, giant socks, and some photochromic oakleys. They gave me 10% discount all around. Met hank and he was very kind inviting me abot the shop and weekly rides. Will go back constantly now.

This is the place to go if you’re looking for a Giant ride, or if you’re looking to accessorize with the latest and greatest from Giant. Not gonna find anything from Specialized, Cannondale, Trek, or the like here, as the name on the front obviously suggests.
Nice thing about Giant RH is that they do sell more than the typical bike shop. I mean, all the usual tools and accessories, but a much bigger and more comprehensive selection (of predominantly Giant brand gear). They also have a much bigger apparel section than the typical bike shop as well (of almost exclusively Giant brand gear). What’s nice is that their merchandise is also clean. What I mean is that it’s kind of annoying when you go to a bike shop and what you’re looking for is covered in dust and clearly had been neglected. Not so at Giant. All new stuff in stock.
Typically, Giant-​affiliated bike shops carry just a few of the brand’s bikes and accessories in-​store. Giant RH obviously has much more than that. From the latest Defy/​TCR/​etc to U-​locks to bottle cages to pumps, they have just about everything you need if your whip is a Giant and you need to go all matchy-​matchy (like I do).
As for the service side — can’t speak to that, other than prices. Prices are pretty much in line for what they do.

It is past 11 and myself and other customers are still waiting for them to open. They open at 11! As other reviewers have stated they can’t seem to open on time. Not good business when someone is passing through from an apt looking to purchase 2 bikes for the family!

This place is an awesome place for bike repair. I took my bike that hadn’t been used in years in for a tune up. Hank looked at my bike and within minutes gave me an estimate. He seemed very knowledgable.
There are 3 levels of bike tune ups, and he told me the one that would fit best with how frequently I plan to use my bike. He recommended the least expensive option and didn’t try to up-​sell. He gave me a reasonable time frame for the repairs to be done and they were completed within that time.
I was not there to purchase anything else, but there were many options for bikes an accessories on display.

Amazing product outstanding service. Hank is the best. Extremely knowledgable knows his product well and make recommendations based on your needs. Will be a regular customer.
