This place does not even deserve a star! Worst car-​rental experience, ever!
I am really disappointed BIG TIME, i got confirmation with car reservation and when I got there, the Manager (EDGAR) told me that they do not have any car that i already reserved (wait a minute i got there on time! and you told me you do not have any car??) and He told me have to pay extra to get different car and have to wait maybe 1 hour or more (borrowing from other location — are you kidding???). HERTZ really really not professional, ruin my all day schedules!!! you should change change name HURTZ SO BAD
why we have to pay extra because you guys DROP the BALL! why you have to blame us because we made reservation in 24 hours? blame it on your system! if you cannot handle order that soon so restrict the system!
I run to the Enterprise and got my car within 30 minutes– thru online reservation with NO PROBLEM and they still respect me and professionally take care my order and still CHEAPER!
It looks like you guys do not need business! and thank you for ruining my day!

If there was a way to give NO STARS!!! I WOULD!!! I don’t even know where to start & I don’t even know how this Hertz location is still running! The absolute WORST rental experience ever! The first car they gave me has an engine light on. It started jerking on the expressway and I had to pull over and get assistance with getting the car parked. Picked up the 2^nd car they gave me around 8am the next day. By 10 am the car WOULDNT START!!! Had to call roadside who didn’t show up until 2 hour later. Ended up being 4 hours late for work! Called to speak with the branch manager and was hung up on twice. Just tried to call this morning and the gentleman I was speaking with kept claiming the phone was breaking up. I could hear him just fine. This is just the short version of the entire catastrophe of a rental experience. I rarely do bad reviews but this was THEE WORST! Please go to another branch! Also. they have fees that are only charged at that location. Spoke with cooperate Hertz and they were not aware of ANY of the fees and policies that I mentioned. The service was so bad, I will not stop until corporate Hertz does something about this branch specifically! THE WORST!!!

This place does not even deserve a star! The cars are dirty and disgusting! I came in after reserving something the night before and the person at the desk was a liar. They stated that they had called to let us know that they had called us to let us know the car was unavailable. I checked my phone as well as my husbands. What liars!!! People you are better off going somewhere else, with better quality cars and service. This place is a dump!

Worst car-​rental experience, ever! I made reservations at 10:30, came here around 10:45. I was told the car is still washing. They told me they also need to check tile pressure after car wash. I asking is there I said ok I’ll wait. And I got my car around 12pm, almost one and half hour waiting. I asked if they has any other car available for me instead of waiting on this one. They offered me a +5 dollar/​day upgrade option. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I usually went to enterprise for rental-​car, they just upgrade the car for free when the car is currently unavailable.
Second day, when I start engine, I saw ‘low tire pressure’ warning on dashboard. After checking on nearby gas station. Passenger rear side tire is leaking. It’s not because of weather. I only drove this car for 30 miles and the tire is low! How they check my tire pressure yesterday?
I called roadside assistance and they asked me to change another car in nearest airport (because it’s Sunday). So I went to John Wayne airport. They gave me a key to another car. I was shocked when I saw the key. This is like my apartment door key, not electrical, even no backup key. And the car apparently was hit by accident, rear bumper out of shape seriously. I can’t use this ‘key’ to open the trunk and the doors. Luckily front windows were rolled down so I can start engine first, and electrically turn on doors by using button.
After negotiation with manager, she gave me a upgrade car with a happy ending. But it really waste of time.
Maybe someplace for Hertz is better. I definitely won’t recommend this place to anyone!

My complaint is that this business discriminated service to me for whatever reasons. 1) I brought cash to pay for my 1 week rental (reservation made previous day online via their website) 2) They refused my cash of $ 103.43 even though there were 2 posted signs stating they are going to stop accepting cash payments effective on February 1, 2016 3) They refused to take me to the bank 1 mile down the street to make a deposit so that I could pay using a debit VISA card 3) I had to pay a taxi to take me to the bank and back 4) I had to wait outside because the office was closed when I returned with a sign on the door that read they were out delivering the customer to their destination or picking up a customer 5) Once they re-​opened, my card was declined because they tried to put a hold of funds on my debit VISA in the amount of $ 302 6) They failed to tell me of the $ 200 hold in addition to the $ 134.43 before I left with the taxi to make my deposit 7) I had deposited all my cash at the bank & had nothing left on me after paying the taxi fare of $ 15 to go 2 miles round-​trip 8) I asked them again to take me home then back to the bank to make the $ 200 cash deposit but yet they still refused even after I pointed out the sign on the door when I came back the 1^st time that they DO deliver and pick up customers 9) I called the customer service 800 number to complain about their service but the call center rep said all they could do was email the branch manager Kayla Tiper who was off until Monday 10) I finally got them, after 3 hours of just standing there complaining, to agree to take me home and then take me to the bank so that I could make the additional deposit of $ 200. I didn’t receive the rental car until after 12:30 PM PST Please note that I made my reservation online from home for 9:30 AM pick up on 1÷30÷16 because I had to go to work at 11 AM. I ended up NOT going to work because I was stranded at their store for over 3 hours. This should NOT have happened like this.
I might have even lost my job because I was supposed to meet with my employer before Monday in paperwork preparation for a new project assignment that is to begin on Monday.

Smooth experienced with this rental. Omar picked me up (about 25min waiting, its reasonable because they picked another person) & did all paperwork. Deal with Edgar when returning the car, no issue, very smooth. He drove me back to the Caliber after all paperwork is completed. Good deal, professional service. Highly recommended. Thanks Hertz…

This place is horrible. Rented a car online, a rep called to confirm the reservation. I tried calling a few times the next day before heading there, but nobody would answer the phone. Got dropped off there and they tell me they couldn’t get my car. Why would you call to confirm the reservation and tell me you couldn’t get me car a few days later? I asked why didn’t they call me to give me a heads and they lied about calling. I would’ve appreciate if they didn’t lie. Don’t come to this location. Horrible service!

The only reason I used Hertz is because it’s what my insurance would pay for. They started charging my credit card for things they knew insurance was covering. I called and Omar just talked in circles and refused to fix the wrong charges. I had to have my insurance company call them to fix it. Then, I had to actually come in to make sure the charges were reversed. Omar is the biggest, condescending, sexist a**hole.

Went in to pick up a rental car due to a car accident. I have 50 $ a day rental and they offered me a Sentra or Altima… I even called to make they have cars available. Immediately went to enterprise and got a Mercedes. The workers were also very unprofessional. Lady behind the counter actually sat on the guest couch and was talking on her cell phone when we walked in.

Chiselers; dishonest, or incompetant employees; it’s hard to say. They were going to charge me for four days on a car that I would pick up on a friday morning and return on a monday morning. Although I asked for their AAA rate and they stated that I got it, a later look on the web of my contract indicated that I didn’t receive it. I canceled the contract. How do such people live with themselves?

I made a reservation a week in advanced online. Picked up the car on Friday at 12pm. Took about 15 – 20 minutes to get everything done. I’d say go when Edgar is there.
Dropped off today ⁷⁄₂₇ and took about the same time. There were two customers in front of me. I was asked if i been helped already which was nice.
Don’t be discouraged by the negative reviews. I was hesitant at first, but everything turned out perfect.

BEWARE of this place… No wonder it is rated VERY low!
When I picked up the car, I only asked to waive the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). But then when I got home, and checked the papers, the guy in the desk waived ALL insurance!?! OMG…
I had to go back and have them put the Liability and Medical insurance. The guy in the desk was flustered, he said that he did ask me about insurance whether I wanted Basic, etc. I reiterated to him that I just wanted CDW out. He needs to better learn to listen to customer requests…
OK — then… Had the car for about 5-​days…
Upon returning — Hertz wanted to charge $ 50 for a cleaning fee. What?!? In all my experience with rental cars, this was the FIRST time. For what? Pringles on the floor and some oil stains due to French Fries.
I told them that I’ll have it car washed myself. It took only $ 5 for a vacuum and a wipe. All good!
The stinky one is that HERTZ actually called the car wash (near the rental branch) to charge us a HIGHER rate?!? What a cheat!!!

Great service! I got picked up at the body shop promptly, and the staff is helpful and nice!

I had the worst experience at this Hertz! They were supposed to fax a contract to the body shop my car was in. Never received the fax after the body shop called multiple times. So they had to end up driving me to Hertz themselves. After arriving to the office which smelled like something died in it. There were 2 people working and 10 customers waiting. The employees were rude and not organized. After an hour of waiting I finally got the car. The next day upon returning my rental, it was the same process. Smelly office. Rude staff. Long wait. Only 2 people working. While one of the employees left the computer desk and started cleaning the windows of another car waiting to be picked up. This place is not organized and not customer service oriented at all. i will not use their service again. Nor would I recommend anyone to.

Either they talked to management or something, the service returning the car was fast and friendly, I’m pretty sure he remembered me from how pissed I was Saturday. I believe in change and improving for the better. I really hope they continue express the friendly and helpful service of today.

Customer Service:
WORST customer service ever. I had to deal with an associate by the name Christina, she has no clue what is going on, and VERY rude over the counter, or on the phone. I had to call this place few times due to their lack of knowledge and logistics of how things work, every time this person picks up the phone, it completely ruins my day.
The Cars:
The selection of cars are awful. The car I got is a VW Jetta that has already 50k miles on it, which you wouldn’t see from other rental companies. The car was dinged, scratched, and not even washed!!! the interior and the trunk smells like old gym bag.
Verdict:
This place is hopeless.

Worst customer service around… 4 people ahead of me and waited almost 3 hours just to speak to someone… Then they don’t have the right car available which was reserved in my confirmation. I even confirmed 24 hours in advance…
Go elsewhere if you can and save the hassle and frustration…
Trust me, you’ll be glad you did…

The staff at this location are very friendly and knowledgeable. The gave me the best rate for my trip. They had a good selection of cars with different options. I would definitely come back here and you should too.

I’m here at hertz with my mom and little brother… He’s 6 yrs old btw! And he politely asked for water and «Christina» replied «I would have to go upstairs to get the cups»… she disregarded my brothers request for water! she’s a complete bitch to customers! Excuse my language! Their customer service is TERRIBLE!

The customer service is great. It’s real easy to make a reservation online. Omar is the best. We checked in and out with ease.
I ended up getting a Toyota yaris and changed my whole perception about smart cars.
I’m definitely coming back here.
