So I wanted to shed some light on this plaza in it’s defense. The smell that people are complaining about… is most likely not due to actual sewage or garbage. It’s almost certainly due to the Tofu King location near the back(which seems to also be where people complain about the smell). Tofu King has one of the more authentic«stinky tofu» dishes, which is supposed to be foul smelling by nature. In fact, the stinkier it is the«better» the recipe is supposed to be. However, if people are complaining about cleanliness of the plaza then i have nothing to say for that. Secondly, there is a second location that is worth visiting which is the pastry location that is near the front. Forgot what it is called but they have this green onion pastry(savory) that is pretty unique and mainly taiwanese. According to my dad, there are not that many locations that make that sort of pastry and definitely not many that make it well. We always buy 1 – 2 dozen every time we stop by.

Like the other reviewer, I was here when it was popping, the side stores and fish ball place was packed at night. They had HK concerts projected on the walls and people filled up the back section, despite the nasty smell. Fast forward 10 years, and going through it is like visiting the ruins or a ghost town. The outside stores still get some business but the indoor part is almost completely abandoned, Star Boulevard is still around, but it’s almost sad seeing the indoor part and the back alleyway almost completely barren. The fishball place is still awesome though. And yes, it’s a street vendor, don’t expect 5 star hotel treatment.

Hong Kong plaza. Eh. There’s really nothing here that requires a special visit. I use to come here as a kid when it was seriously booming. All the stores were full, the restaurants on the side were all full and busy. Currently, it just smells like sewage in the front parking lot and the rear parking lot is just destroyed.

It’s a small indoor and outdoor shopping center, a mini mall with predominantly Chinese restaurants, home décor, clothing stores: men and women, a hair salon and jewelry store. There are usually sidewalk vendors selling stuff outside such as phone accessories, plants, and cooking utensils.
