3.5−4 stars Will get quite busy here so come early. Food: lobster is big and flavorful. The other food are quite flavorful too and the portion is good. Price is decent as well. Service: slightly the down fall. Because there’s so many customer, everyone is in a rush. The server will loudly slam the tea pots on your table or will place the dishes in the most bored/tired face ever. Yes, it’s tiring and the workers probably just want to end the night already. But still, not the best attitude to expect. However, the speed of everything is good here. Interior: the main dining room is big, a bit too cramped, and decorated. The smaller rooms in the back are very old style and seems like the paint are fading away rather than an actual painting /décor. But, that’s hard to tell… art is different from everyone. Overall, good dinner place. Lobster is worth it. The service is so so but it’s not bad enough for me to not go anymore. So I will say, worth trying

After my first time eating here I know why they call this restaurant Lobster Bay because they serve the biggest damn lobsters I have ever eaten! The lobster we ordered seemed to weigh about 10lbs. with huge claws the size of my hands. It was prepared nicely with plenty of spices and they even added some small bits of jalapeño to give it an extra kick. The pieces of lobster were meaty and didn’t require much effort to get them out of the shell. The menu is pretty extensive so we settled on having the set dinner menu instead of choosing each dish. It first came with the assortment appetizer platter with jellyfish, chicken, beef, pork and bbq pork. It was big and tasty with enough to definitely share with our big table. Next came the seafood soup with crab meat. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary out the many times I’ve had it. We also had a sliced beef dish which was something I haven’t had before that contained preserved vegetables and bean sprouts. It was more of a Vietnamese fusion dish and was surprised that it was a bit spicy. Another dish that I thought was interesting was the fried rice we had which had bits of jalapeño and chili peppers. It was my first time having a fried rice which tasted a bit hot after each bite. The other dishes we had: free range chicken, vegetables with mushroom, steamed tilapia and tofu with dried scallop were all very good and tasty with nice big portions. They even had the complimentary dessert of red bean soup at the end which is my all time favorite to end a meal. The restaurant isn’t very big when your first walk in, but they do have a private dining area in the back of the restaurant with a few big tables. Even when we made a reservation we still had a good 30 minute wait for our table since the place was totally packed with people. The place itself is nice and a bit fancy, but seating is kind of tight with not much table space between yourself and others. Service was good here as we got our teas refilled a few times and they even changed out our bone plates a couple times. The food came out quickly once we put our order in with not much wait even though the place was busy. Good first time experience here and wouldn’t mind coming again if I’m in the area.

Lobster Bay is now my family’s go-to seafood restaurant. We used to go to New Capitol since there aren’t many option in the area. But LB is the newer, cleaner, and friendlier substitute. It’s located at the entrance of the new Pearl of the East Plaza on Nogales. Parking is easy to find and has handicap parking right in front of the restaurant which is convenient for my grandpa. The restaurant is smaller compared to those banquet size venues. They do have one private room. Also they have one large tv. We were watching the NBA Finals the other night. Since the place is still new, it’s fairly clean. Food is ok. It’s your typical Chinese seafood restaurant. Not amazing but not bad, better than the others. They skimp on your lobster, but who doesn’t? At the end of your meal, they serve red bean soup that’s not as watered down and also contains sticky purple rice. Don’t forget to ask for the current deals before you order! One time, my family said they came with 7 people for a weekday brunch and only paid ~$ 40. Overall, 3.5 stars for now.

So sometimes you find one strand of hair in your food, but our experience yesterday completely killed our appetite and made it our last time ever at this restaurant. My client dives into the Peking duck and lucky her, finds not one, but TWO strands of hair in two different pieces of the Peking duck! We were grossed out, but know that it happens all the time so we go on with dinner. We also ordered a 6 lb lobster that came with very little meat. When it was brought to the manager’s attention, he picked at the lobster for a bit and dug out one meaty section and said, «look, I found one with meat. I didn’t weigh this lobster so I don’t know if it was really 6lbs or not, but there are meaty lobsters and skinny lobsters. Your lobster is a skinny one, but just because it is skinny, doesn’t mean we have to throw it away and not serve it!» After going back and forth, we decide to just drop the issue. Now, the worst part was the honey walnut shrimp. As we get half-way through this dish, we find a black bug with pinchers that was about an inch big!!! Holy moly!!! We called the manager over and he grabbed the plate and told us he will take it off the bill. No arguing this time… Needless to say, our appetites were gone by now and we still had a table filled with food. As we sat there trying to forget about the extra goodies that came in our food that we didn’t order for, I look down into my bowl of soup and there lies the body of another black bug with pinchers… it probably was the baby of the big one in our shrimp… end of meal right there… Yuck, yuck, yuck!!! $ 250 meal with human hair and bugs is not what we were in for!!! I’ve eaten at some ghetto places in 3rd world countries and had a better experience than this! We are never going back to this place with poor service and definitely has cleanliness issues. Adiós!

Brought my dad here for dinner based on feedback we got from my uncle. The place is average size and primarily set up for larger groups. Everything appeared to be clean with linens on the tables. The wait staff doesn’t appear to be real friendly, just attend to business, which is fine. We ordered several dishes to try: Assorted Seafood & Tofu Hot pot, Scallops & Vegetables, Minced Fish & Chinese Broccoli and Salt & Pepper Squid. Then the establishment offers a free bonus dish with the size of our order, which we opted the cold steamed chicken. Everything was cooked well with great flavor. I would definitely go back.

Expansive English and Chinese menu. Price isn’t bad. We had 11 adults and the total came out to $ 145 after tax, before tip. Here’s how it broke down: — 6.5 lbs of lobster at $ 8.99/lb, approx $ 59. — 9 dishes off the lunch menu. $ 8-$ 9 each dish. Food was the typical Cantonese dishes you expect at a banquet hall type restaurant. Bit chaotic on Saturday lunch, but seems like they were able to control the flow pretty well. Private rooms in the back.

Came here on a family luncheon… it was either this or newport seafood. I heard great things about Newport seafood, but the one thing everyone mentions is the wait time. no thank you. I made a reservation for 5 people at 12:30. We arrived at 12:45 and was still able to get seated fairly quickly. the main take away here, is that if you want lobster, you must order a minimum 4 pounds of lobster. And each pound is roughly 10 bucks. we ended up getting the house special, and it was actually very tasty and full of flavors. we also ordered honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, fish with black beans and crab/shrimp/scallop fried rice. everything was on point, expect for the rice. It was lacking flavor and we barely noticed any scallops. We should have just ordered noodles or just got white rice instead. this place is a little fancier than sam woo, but then again it’s a little more pricier. the parking during the weekend, is ridiculous… but luckily, there’s a structure you can park at.

I wasn’t too impressed on my first visit, not sure what my relatives were raving about. But on my second visit, I realized why. We ordered entrees we didn’t have the first time and these dishes we ordered were prepared perfectly. The pheasants were fresh and the stir fried oysters were awesome… even on the next day. It’s a big menu so I’m sure we will find something better on our next visit which I can’t wait.

Lobster Bay has a good variety of seafood and other types of Chinese dishes. My family decided to try a mix of meat and seafood dishes to taste a good selection of their menu. We order the Lobster noodles, chicken, seafood tofu hotpot, sweet and sour pork, clams, and kungpao chicken. The dishes were pretty decent with a good taste in flavor, but the dishes tend to be pretty salty. Their lobster dishes are the most popular items on the menu. The lobster noodles has a buttery taste to the sauce. I wished it had a stronger flavor to it. The restaurant is in a plaza behind the golf course. Ample amounts of parking.

I usually go to Newport Seafood in Westminster for lobster, but the restaurant has been getting dirtier and dirtier as the years go by and it was time to search for a new place. Lobster Bay is located in a spacious plaza near Tasty Garden. I came with my family for dinner on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking and no wait for a table at all. Lobster is $ 8.99/pound and we ordered 6 pounds which ended up being too much for 4 people. We also ordered the fillet steak french style, sauteed snow pea leaves with garlic, and the manila clam with basil. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! The amount of food they give is more than Newport Seafood and we had a lot of leftovers. I still think the Lobster at Newport Seafood has better flavor, but this place is a close runner up.

Their lobsters are $ 8.99/lb and it is very delicious. They have multiple ways of making it to suit your taste so go crazy! Came here with my family and we ordered the house special black pepper lobster, super flavorful and I always walkout wanting more. The lobster is an absolute must, the house special fish filet was another really good dish, very crispy and flavorful. We also ordered the French style filet steak cubes that was very well prepared. The onions and mushrooms went very well with it. Lastly I really enjoyed their fried rice, I highly recommend ordering a plate to go along with all the seafood dishes instead of the white rice. Oh and people shouldn’t complain about their services, it’s typical chinese restaurant so tamper your expectation accordingly. This isn’t Mastros or the strip in Vegas now.

Overpriced Cantonese food that is not very good. Came here with my family for our day after new years dinner get-together. We ordered a family set meal with several dishes included and the whole meal was a disappointment! The portions are large but they also charge a high price for everything. We got 7 dishes and it costed more than $ 300. The food didn’t taste very good, and the ingredients were noticeably of low quality. The fish was not fresh and the meat was overly cooked and very tough. The lobster dish was good but once again the lobster wasn’t very fresh and the meat was tough and overcooked. The service was also very very slow and not very attentive, we had our private room and expected a bit more out of the staff but was pretty disappointed, drinks not refilled, dishes not cleared out, no one came to check on us. Overall a pretty lame experience and definitely overpriced with poor quality food. Would not recommend!

Chinese restaurants tend to get under-rated. This one, on first glance, seems like it won’t be as good because it was pretty empty during dinner time. But surprisingly, their food turned out pretty good and flavorful. Since this is a seafood restaurant, we ended up ordering a lot of seafood. Let’s just say, their Lobster was delicious. Their walnut shrimp was pretty good too. They serve beers here as well. Service was average, comparable to other Chinese places in the area.

Overview: Lobster Bay is a «B-health-grade» but wonderfully high end Chinese seafood restaurant that serves exceptionally prepared Chinese favorites aimed squarely at major Chinese get-togethers. The Establishment: With huge tables that seat up to 10, menus that are printed in both traditional Chinese and English, and almost an entirely Chinese staff, Lobster Bay has its target demographic nailed down: Chinese groups getting together for big events like wedding receptions, reunions, or business meetings. The décor is very nautical themed in the main hall but the private rooms(where I had the pleasuring of dining) are very plain and are a bit too small for large groups(good luck to the people who are seated by the wall if they want to go to the bathroom). The Food: While I think you can buy a-la-carte dishes, I have only been here when groups order the tasting menu, ranging from $ 300 to $ 1000 for a group of ~10. I don’t actually know what option we bought as the Chinese elders in my family always handle all the ordering. I think we buy the $ 500 option. This option includes at least 7 courses of slap your mama deliciousness. With ultra savory Peking Duck, juicy lobster that’s pre-cracked, fat buttery shrimp, amazing deep fried noodles, what I think is monk-fish, and a beef medley — I basically felt like the Chairman himself feasting on the best dishes of China. It’s THAT good. The Service: With well dressed and well trained waiters and servers that can easily balance 14 plates per arm, I was thoroughly impressed. The Location: This busy plaza in Rowland Heights is constantly packed so prepare to park fairly far. Conclusions: Lobster Bay would get my 5-star rating if I was judging it solely on taste and service but there are a few flaws that prevent me from giving it that 5-stars. Firstly the prices are completely unreasonable. For half the price per person I could have all-you-can eat sushi or all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. Secondly a «B-health-grade» is worrisome for a sea-food centered restaurant. Thirdly the layout and décor of the private rooms should be addressed. If these issues could be corrected, Lobster Bay would easily earn 5-stars as it serves some of the most flavorful, well prepared food Chinese food I have ever had the pleasure of eating.

$ 9.99/lb lobster. Is that the special price? First time coming for dinner with my family of 12. The servers were a little disorganized. We made a reservation, but when we were escorted to the table we were still hunting for chairs. Ok, quick turn over, we get it. It’s like all Chinese restaurants. No complimentary cucumbers or peanuts as other reviewers mentioned. Maybe they are really busy on this Sunday night so they went out of complimentary snacks? Then we asked for ice water. The server was nice, but never came back with the water. We asked again, to a different server this time. He came back with the water, after circulating around our table 3 times later. Food was decent like other Chinese restaurant in the area. But not memorable. We ordered lots of food and the table was full. So the waiter took our Peking duck, which was barely touched, and informed us he was to placed it on a smaller plate. The dish came back without the shrimp crackers that my niece and nephew were looking forward to. The bill– we only asked for it three times. It was overall an very odd experience in terms of service. I hope it was just an off night for lobster bay.

A new seafood restaurant in the area. It’s not $ 6.99, but $ 8.99 per lb lobster if you order $ 30+. There is a private party section in the back, and the front part of the establish is not huge but the high ceiling definitely gives you the sense of spaciousness. Instead of dim sum, there are lunch specials, a variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables ranging from $ 6.95 to 8.95. These come with a soup and white rice. Soup: dried bok choy broth — it’s light, with pieces of carrot, and not greasy at all. I love dried bok choy because it has so much intense flavor when it’s in a broth. They didn’t add msg in this, 4.5 stars We requested low salt in all the dishes: Roast duck: crispy skin, juicy duck with the plum sauce(4.5 stars) Baked pork chops with Peking sauce(more like sweet and sour fried pork chops): decent pieces of pork, sauce is on point with onions(4.5 stars) Bean Curd with 3 ingredients: tofu is lightly fried, delicious seafood dish($ 4.5 stars) Chinese Broccoli with Minced fish: this is made with fried slices of garlic and this type of cured fish, not quite your salty fish strong, but decent. It is a bit on the saltier side, probably due to the cured fish. Lobster with scallions and ginger(4 stars): a hefty 5.5 lb dish. The lobster sure is fresh, we even got one with roe in the dish. In order to get low salt in this dish, you have to order ginger and scallion, not stock/salt n pepper, because then salt can be adjusted. However, this dish still managed to taste above my threshold salty… At the end of the bill: we saw that other people got fruits at the end of their meal, but we didn’t so we deducted a bit off their tips. Then a staff approached us and asked if their service wasn’t good, because they apparently have a rule for 10% tips. So we mentioned about the fruits. Despite that she tried to make up for it, it’s already too late. I still gave them 10% afterwards, but seriously, if this is your policy, you better write that down somewhere clear, especially on the bill. To Insure Prompt Service — try again, you’re almost there, Lobster Bay.

The lobster was bomb, lives up to the name Lobster Bay! We went for dinner on Chinese New Year’s Day, saw this Cantonese /chinese seafood restaurant in a new plaza, went in, looked at the menu for a minute and decided to give it a try, and it didn’t disappoint. The menu is a little different from regular Cantonese /Chinese seafood restaurant, more varieties in good ways. Live lobster special was $ 9.99 per lb with food order $ 30 n up. That was pretty good deal if you ask me! The food: Housemade soup, with seafood, chicken, pork and herbs: lots of good stuffs in that soup, the soup was very flavorful, hubby liked it a lot. Spicy clams with clear noodles in a hot pot: big and tender clams in spicy broth, so delicious, I loved it. Fish filet with greens and mushrooms: the flavor was light, the fish filets were fresh and tender, veggies tasted so good too. 5 lb lobster cooked in house especial way: huge lobster, meat was so tender and flavorful, loved the way they cooked it, it was amazingly delicious! I was really surprised and impressed by the food, the service was above average than regular Cantonese /Chinese seafood restaurants. We will be coming back for sure, hopefully it will be as good as the first time!
