Very good food and service! I usually get either the orange chicken or general tso’s chicken, and both are delicious. The service is also very fast; my food is usually ready within 15 minutes. Definitely one of the best places to get chinese food in Rowlett.

Stopped in for the very first time today and glad that I did. Great lunch specials, nice price from 5.75 to 5.95 Includes a choice of 3 types of soup, I picked won ton. With your entrée you get steamed white rice, brown rice or fried rice. The servings are pretty big, I brought 1⁄3 of mine home. See my pic of General Tsao’s chicken. The spice was just right. The ambiance inside is nice too, a very vibrant color on the wall with a couple of tv’s to view and subdued lighting. I will definitely be back for more.

Chef Chen’s is awesome! The food is great not to mention I’m in love with the asian guy with the bun there, he’s just so cute and funny. If he didn’t have a girlfriend I would definitely ask him out (; All of the driver’s are really fast at deliveries and I really appreciate that.

They always say 30 – 45 minutes, but it has never taken more than 15 minutes. The food is hot and delicious. This is our go to chinese takeout now that we have been lucky enough to find it.

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write a review for Chef Chens! I have been frequenting here for years now. My husband and I ate here on a Sunday afternoon for less than $ 13 together. This includes soup, entrée, rice and egg roll for each of us. It is enough food that I am always able to bring left overs home. The inside is nothing to speak about, but the food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious and they get your order out in lightening speed.
It is the only Asian hole in the wall that I visit. If you are in Rowlett/​Rockwall it’s the only place I suggest!

Quick lunch whilst the boy did homework with the Lin’s daughter. Great family place. Mrs. Lin is a peach and kept an eye on the kids. The Orange Chicken and Garlic Shrimp were solid for a little mom n pop joint and a cut above the regular Fry and Go. Only down side is I wish they delivered in our area. Our option are piteous at best. This may not be fine dining, but it’s not supposed to be. Solid, consistent and tasty is what keeps you in business! Well done!

The hot and sour soup was perfect! The crab wontons were sub par. I mean it was basically only cream cheese and green onions. Now for the entrees my dish was pretty salty. Like I took two bites and I just couldn’t do it. My wife had the ginger broccoli beef. The flavor was great, but the beef was very chewy. I would recommend the chicken or just straight veggies. The service was a bit shotty. It looks like most of there business is to go, so the «wait staff» is poorly trained. I would order to go next time instead.

Clean and nice, small place. I ordered Cream Cheese Wonton… no taste, just warm cream cheese inside. Good Spring Roll. The orange chicken had a great taste but was overcooked. I think the fire was too hot. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken and he said it was ok. The fried rice was good but didn’t have enough vegies in it like I prefer. All in all, it’s an ok place but definitely won’t be on our fave list.

Chef Chen is our second favorite chinese spot in Rowlett! Their food is always really fresh, they have quick delivery, and they are a local! Service is always really great and we have never had a problem with any of their staff or management.
I have gotten several things from them but one of my favorites thus far is the Mongolian Chicken. It is really tasty, not too greasy, and always comes piping hot. Their vegetables are always crisp and fresh and never overcooked. Totally delicious, super efficient, love this place!

Just moved to Rowlett and looked for some good Chinese food. Unilocal did not let me down! Had some great chicken fried rice and tasty wontons. Really nice service. Will be ordering again soon. The lunch sounds like a good deal. Might try it later in the week.

My third visit to this place and it has gotten better. I still got to try other items on the menu. The from desk guy was pretty attentive. They got my food ready very fast. I can see myself eat here on a regular basis. Back to lunch. I’m so hungry …

Good Chinese food! China town is one of my favorites here including their egg drop soup. I like it here especially because they serve brown rice! Good service and price is just right for the amount of serving. I only ate inside once and the ambiance could be better — it was a little dark and not very welcoming. But don’t let this scare you off, because food is great! And if it’s your first time, they’ll walk you through the menu and they will help you figure out what you like! You can also customize how spicy you want your food, which I think is great. They have fast delivery too! This restaurant definitely became one of my go-​to Chinese restaurant.

Good food, terrible customer service. I order delivery from chef Chen at least once a week sometimes more. One time the orange chicken they brought me was way overcooked, couldn’t eat it. Next night I order kung pao chicken and ask for them to also bring an orange chicken at no extra charge. They refused. Not good business.
