Great food and a fun atmosphere!!! We waited maybe 10 minutes to get our food and it was delicious! Klaus works hard to make sure his customers are pleased. The dessert was my favorite part and let me tell you it was amazing!

There are few restaurants that have been so disappointing. Very small and very rushed feeling. Tried to ask what wine went well with the shnitzl and was taking too much of his time. Food tasted good but felt very rushed, out in under 5 minutes. Wanted desert but felt again very rushed so took it to go. Then the shock of the bill. Poorly explained and then rude when questioned. Would have a hard time coming back, bu t the food was tasty.

Do yourself a favor and come here and eat the Wiener Jaeger at least once in your life. Clause is amazing, he’s hilarious, and he’s a phenomenal chef and pastry chef. I love this place.

Well, my experience seems to differ from everyone else’s. This was our first time to Fritzl’s, which we chose based on all of the glowing reviews here. The meal was unspectacular at best. The service was rushed, and the food we received did not reflect the prices charged(which seemed excessive). We left disappointed. Maybe we went on an off night?

Absolutely amazing!!! Amazing food, amazing service!!! Klaus(owner) made my husband and I feel so welcomed and right at home. The food is incredibly authentic. If you’ve been to Germany or Austria this is the best place to experience Bavarian food. We’ve been to the Bavarian Grill in Plano but this is by far better food.

If you are tired of the same old food then go here! It is wonderful and Klaus is honestly the reason why. Food is great. Desserts are great. Beer is great. I don’t act like I’m some food critic and I rarely leave reviews but very impressed with this place and this guy.

Went there for the second time last night. It is sooo good! We definitely need to go more often. It was amazing to see how fast the owner was at bussing, waitering and cooking perfect food! We both had the weiner jaeger schnitzel and it is just perfection!

The food was pre-prepared, so it was served in less than 5 mins, but it was fairly tasty. A glass of Spaten beer is $ 6.99 and a full Schnitzel plate is $ 18.99. Just be prepared, there is an added 26.25% automatically added on top of your bill for tax and tip. For some reason, I had read the ‘gratuity included’ note on the menu, and thought it was meaning they had arranged things euro-style /figured everything into the total price of the food /no additional tip on top of that given everything is priced in. But it’s an additional 18% regardless of the size of your party(plus the 8.25% tax) automatically added on top of your total. Gratuity and tax are also not broken down /itemized on the handwritten bill, so if you need to check the total you need to add up the items on the bill and then multiply by 26.25%

Cool looking place. I like 2 dishes ordered(names too long. See pic). Dessert, cherry strudel was ok. Probably taste better if it was not warmed up in microwave. I was disappointed seeing my $ 7 dessert came from a microwave.

Such a wonderful place to go! The atmosphere and décor of the place is awesome! Gives the fill of being in Germany! Service is great. Food is delivered to you fast and it is amazing food! The owner Klaus is awesome, great sense of humor. He does it all himself and is great at it! He is on top of it all! Very authentic place and service! He also makes amazing pastries! I’ve been to Germany and have German friends so I know good authentic German food and this most certainly is a good place! Would recommend it to everyone!

Talk about LAZY! Been here no less than 3 or 4 times now, even once by myself. This guy, this guy here keeps it simple and keeps it homey and ridiculously good. As mentioned in prior reviews me and boy wonder are the only two who dig German food, as such we don’t go here as often as I’d like. Fritzl’s has the only spicy schnitzel I’ve ever had. This sick bastard even has Carolina Reaper powder in the back if you’re man enough to ask for it(yes I did and finished it)! Everything is homemade and during the week it is just him. Kitchen, waitstaff, bartender and busser. It is all phenomenal, good beer selection and he has«das boot» as well for the German enthusiast. It’s small, so get there early on the weekend. Thinking about it tonight!

Amazing! We’d been wanting to come here for a few years now and FINALLY made it. It’s a lot smaller inside than you’d expect but super cozy. The owner is wonderful and inviting and sweet. The food is authentic and REALLY good. The desserts are made from scratch and they even make their own wine and peach schnapps! We will come back again soon!

Great tasting Austrian /German food. Expensive as compared to other local establishments, but still worth going on the occasion. The bier is awesome, the house schnapps is great, and the food is outstanding. Only wish they’d be open more hours.

A cozy family owned restaurant that offers high customer value. The owner is really friendly and extremely funny, crack jokes every time he opens his mouth. The food is really good and come out quickly, within 5 minutes. The price is on the more expensive end, but it’s about the same as other German places in the area. They have 2 sizes: half and full, price ranges from $ 13.99 — $ 18.99. The only complain I have from this visit is that the full portion is actually 1.5, not actually full. Because you usually get 2 schnitzel, not one full and a half cut piece(experience from previous visits). Besides from that, great food, beer, desserts, coffee. Great way to celebrate oktoberfest. Try everything when you come here.

The very best, authentic German cuisine you will find in the USA. Not saying this as an uneducated endorsement.. have been to Europe and Germany a dozen times for business. . It is a hidden treasure in our land. The strudel beats New Braunfels Naglens bakery by miles and the dinner entrees will take you back to Munich. Homemade Schapps also to top it off.

One of my husband’s team members is half-German. Since I have a bit of German in me, too, and grew up eating homemade saurkraut, we’ve had a good time talking about the German restaurants in our area. Fritzl’s is a favorite of hers — a true dive, but a very authentic Austrian-German dive. Earlier this month we finally had time to join her and her husband for a dinner. Fritzl’s is about a 30-minute drive for us and isn’t much to look at from the outside. It’s located in a typical tired suburban shopping strip. But this is where it’s important to not judge a book by its cover. The inside is very kitchy. Brightly painted walls are covered with memorabilia — signs, mottos and tons of dollar bills signed by previous customers. Our friend said that it reminds her of her grandfather’s basement in Berlin. So there’s that. There are also only about seven tables. We got there shortly after it opened at 5 and were the third table seated. Within 15 minutes, there was a line from the bar to the front door. There are limited seats(3, I think) at the bar and a sofa that would seat about 3. If you don’t grab one of those seats, you’ll be standing as you wait. Moral of the story: Get there early. We started off with a pint(a full pint) of Spaten Oktoberfest. Dinner was plated and served very quickly. This is fairly impressive since it seems that the owner/chef, Klaus Fritz, is a one-man show. He greets, he seats, he cooks, he serves, he clears and he collects payment. The night we were there he did have a teenager helping — a great kid who worked fast. Our friends, who’d eaten there before, said that they believed he came in early to prepare most of the food except for the schnitzel, which doesn’t take long to fry. If that’s the case, the food doesn’t taste like it’s been cooked in advance — it’s served hot and tastes very fresh. I ordered the wiener jaeger — wiener schnitzel stacked and covered with cognac mushroom cream sauce. I chose my sides and went with saurkraut(served warm, tasted slightly sweet and not super-sour) and spaetzle(a type of dry pasta, so it’s important to mix it with the sauce for best flavor). I could have ordered roasted potatoes in place of one of the sides. My husband had the potatoes and I wish that I’d ordered them instead of the spaetzle. It was good, but the potatoes were really really good. Consider that a lesson learned for next time. My husband ordered the sausage and schnitzel — a weiner schnitzel, served with kielbasa and bratwurst with a dash of cranberry sauce. For sides he ordered saurkrat and spaetzle, but was served potatoes and spaetzle. A side of saurkraut was quickly delivered and in the end, we were happy for the error since it allowed us to taste the potatoes. They were(as I mentioned earlier) a winner. Before dessert, we both ordered a shot of the homemade schnapps. Schnapps are a brandy steeped with fruit or vegetables. Our friends told us the schnapps is different every day. Ours was a slight pink color, having steeped with grapes and pineapple. It was delicious and now I want to try to make some of my own at home! I realize this makes us little piggies, but we also ordered dessert.(Note: We only ate half of our dinners and took the other half home as leftovers!) My husband ordered the black forest cake. Klaus, the owner/chef, started his career as a pastry chef and his skill was evident. The black forest cake was moist and tender and delicious. I ordered the Austrian cheese cake. The creamy(not too sweet) cheese layer was sandwiched between lemony tender cake. Yum, yum! I ate it all. If you’re looking for a place where the owner makes you feel super-important because there are only a few tables, go somewhere else. Klaus is busy making delicious food and serving his guests and may or may not have time to stop by to chat. If you want to have a delicious dinner and could care less about touchy-feely service, you have to go to Fritzl’s.
