Dr. Boren and Dr. Sanders are, as you would expect, extremely knowledgeable about their art. The value add with the Rowlett Smiles dentists are that they are both super personable with a bedside manner that is unmatched in my 45 years visiting many dentists. The greetings, familiarity with the chart and prior dental work, knowledge and concern for family members… the doctors are wonderful! The staff is also top notch! Every member of the staff wears a smile and greets me when I walk in to the office. From the receptionist, to the assistant to the hygienist to the doctor, I have met nothing but sunny, courteous and professional staff there. I have an upcoming root canal(fun). I’ll update on the procedure.

I’ve gone to Dr. Boren for several years now, and have always had a great experience there. Contrary to what some of the other reviewers have said, I’ve always felt his prices were very reasonable. My daughter recently needed her wisdom teeth taken out. I got an estimate from an oral surgeon for $ 2700(this is what I owed AFTER insurance). Dr. Boren did them for $ 700, and they were extremely impacted. Another time I went to a dentist that my insurance recommended and was told I needed«deep root planing» for $ 2500 that would not be covered by my insurance. I walked out and went to Dr. Boren, and had my teeth cleaned with no problems. After he finished I told him what the other dentist had suggested, and he said that was ridiculous and I didn’t need that at all. I feel he is very honest and fair with pricing and telling you what you really need, and what can wait. There have been several times that his own dental hygenist thought I needed fillings, deep cleanings, etc…, and he has come in and said I was fine, and I didn’t need it at that time. Those would have been perfect opportunities for him to upsell me and he didn’t. Let’s face it, all dentistry is expensive, and all dental insurance stinks!(I know because I sell every dental plan out there, and there isn’t a good one.) At least here they will work with you and be honest about what things you really need, and what things you don’t. You can’t complain if you know you have a one-year waiting period and choose to have work done anyway. Would you rather have him refuse to treat people without insurance or people with sub-standard coverage? These are issues to take up with your insurance companies. If you don’t understand your benefits, call your insurance carrier before you go to the dentist.

Horrible People Horrific Treatment!!! DONOT use this facility, unless you have absolutely no other choice even then I would think long and hard before walking in there. All they care about is money. I needed a few things done and I called my Dental Insurance Provider to give me a break down summary of my current dental benefits. I had a year waiting period for major dental which includes crowns, bridges, dentures, partials, surgical extractions and dental implants. A lady from the front desk informed me that I had wonderful insurance benefits and we would get started right away. After going over things I was then presented with a treatment plan estimate and which I again questioned the year waiting period. Only to have my worries met with reassures. Only to be hit with a HUGE bill months later that no it is not covered and I’m to pay the bill. After speaking to my Dental Insurance provider it was bought to my attention that Brittany from the office called and got specific codes and was that time informed about my waiting period for major dental. I feel that the office staff misrepresented itself. I was told one thing by the office when they knew what they were going to bill for would be denied which would leave me with a balance. Come to find out to make matters worse the ROOT Canal he did ~ tooth eighteen abscessed a few months ago and will have to be surgical extracted now. So, I get it now why they are called ROWLETTSMILES! They lie and smile in your face while stabbing you in the back taking all your money. I have submit a formal legal complaint to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. I do not nor will I ever recommend this PLACE to anyone.
