Boston Public Library – Parker Hill Branch

Umm Yes, Yes, and Yes Again!
Let me just tell you why this place is so great… I’m sitting here right now, at 7PM, completely alone, using a computer with internet access. If any of you have ever tried to accomplish this feat at a few of the other public library branches, you what I mean. Sure, Copley has great art and architecture, the courtyard, and all those ethernet ports, but if you forgot your laptop, you have to wait in line for 3 hours with the derelicts to check your email.
This is a beautiful library, situated right next to the picturesque Mission Church and a little park that I just found out about. Inside there is plenty of art, both the cute kid kind and professional, and lots of tables for study and work. The table I’m at now haas 6 public computers (all open!).
Today they are holding a jazz concert downstairs, which I checked out. Jazz isn’t really my thing but I appreciate free live events of all kinds. The space downstairs is very nice… a stage, large projection screen, and I can stell they usually have a study area down there (probably for teens).
The atmosphere in here reminds of the library I used to go to as a kid, a stately building but fill of fun stuff.
