I was looking for an inexpensive place near downtown Royal Oak, but all I’ve gotten is a non-​stop nightmare. I moved here late last year, and already have had so many issues.
1) Drafty windows: Be prepared to have winter winds blowing through your living room, even after you try to insulate these windows with the plastic shrink wrap.
2) Parking: each apartment is only given one spot, and there is a «guest lot» in the back if you have two people living in your apartment or have visitors, but good luck with that. The guest lot only holds about 8 – 10 cars and the spots are hard to maneuver in and out of due to the cramped space in the lot. Now that it has snowed, half of those spots aren’t even useable because it hasn’t been cleared. One of us frequently has to park at the Walgreens across the steet.
3) neighbors — get ready for a fun time with lots of interupted sleep! One of my neighbors screams loudly (and sometimes profanely) all day, every day. The police jave been called on them at least twice in the 3 months I’ve lived here, presumably for domestic disputes based on what I’ve heard. Another neighbor has a really loud car that they will just let run in the lot for hours.
4) cleanliness — the buildings have two doors which you must enter through to get into the building and to your individual apartment. These doors for my building have been spattered with something i can only assume to be a combination of blood and mucus for nearly a week now. I have called the front office multiple times and it still hasn’t been resolved. The walls and carpets in the halls are also stained and not well kept.
