Gentlemen’s Consignment

This was an absolutely horrible experience. Like the review before me I was defintely judged by the way I was dressed, coming from work which is a company that moves seniors, as I walked in the door. That was until they asked me what I had to consign. Which was a few Zegna sports coats, a few Armani sports coats, a few Calvin Klein sports coats, several high end dress shirts and some outerwear.
A few things sold and when i went in at the end of the second 90 days to pick up what did not sell I was handed all but one item. They said they were unable to find it and it would be just considered donated. This is not acceptable. Period.
How do I know they didn’t sell it on eBay (which they do)? The contract states they are not responsible for lost or stolen items. I wonder how often they hide behind this because of their piss poor inventory system?
Unfortunately the week before I brought in 15 ties and about 12 dress shirts. I was so pissed off by the attitude of the owner I walked in a few days later and demanded all my consigned items back. Lo and behold they could not find a sports coat i had consigned just the week before. WTF? They blamed it on theft. I owned two retail establishments in Royal Oak and never encountered the amount of theft they claim they did in 6 months in my 10 years.
This is one worst owned/​managed businesses I have ever walked into.

My wife and I were in town for the ARTS, BEATS, & EATS festival, & happened to stumble upon this place. I work as a manager for a very well known & popular men’s suiting company, but was dressed in jeans and a t-​shirt for the festival. When my wife, son, & I walked in, I noticed there were already about 2 or 3 people already in the store. It wasn’t until I reached the very back of the store, & started looking at the suits when we were greeted. It wasn’t even a warm greeting. It was more like we were bothering them. The lady there asked what I was «looking» for but only seemed truly interested in helping me after I told her that I worked in suiting. The worst part is, after my family and I left, my wife told me that when we walked in, the lady that worked there, looked me up and down, wrinkled her brow, & gave me the most judgemental look she had ever seen someone give… and the reason why my wife waited to tell me was because she knows how much I like vintage suiting & accessories. This is one place that will NEVER see mine, nor anyone that I know business.

Nice store… But I recently tried to bring in some clothes for consignment and was told they are very busy… i understand. But when i tried to schedule on different day, the women (not very people friendly) said well you can only have 15 items. I had more so she said you will have to make two appointments. I asked if i could just do one appointment, I live in West Bloomfield, (didnt want to make two trips to Royal Oak)…She wouldnt budge… WAY TO ACCOMODATE THE ONES TRYING TO HELP KEEP YOU IN BUSINESS. NO I WONT BE GOING BACK!!!
