Primo’s Pizza

I don’t understand all the nasty reviews on here, I went shopping in Royal Oak and then stopped in for a pizza, it was tasty and the girl that rang me up was a total sweetheart! Cassie? I don’t remember her name, should have written it down, but she was as nice and the pizza was good. Well worth the time to go there. Meter parking was a bit of a let down, but hey, a lot of cities have meters now, so I deal with it. I will be back!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Primo’s pizza. IN BIRMINGHAM.
I have given this place so may chances, and each time it’s been a disappointment. There’s almost no cheese on the pizza, they cut it too soon so what little cheese is on it slides to the middle, and their wait times are insane when they aren’t even busy (we picked up the pizzas, the wings were delivered).
Okay, we thought, but maybe the wings are the same.
Nope. They were cold, the flavor was bland, and they forgot our dipping sauces, even when we asked for extras. They sent a guy to deliver them. He arrived 25 minutes later (we live a mile away, if that.) and didn’t bring the right ones, and hovered for a tip. We felt badly and got him one.
The BIRMINGHAM location has THE BEST deep dish pizza I have ever eaten. This location has done wonders for my diet, because I no longer even want pizza anymore.

I’m not sure if it’s because they are connected to Hamlin Corner or if this PRIMOS is just bad. I ordered a slab of ribs. The sauce was dark and pastey, creative? Or old? Not really sure? Absolutely not the sauce from other PRIMOS. The French fries were oily, like old grease was used. I don’t normally complain out right in my reviews but for 20+dollars, I’m not going to be quiet. Straighten up PRIMOS, there’s a lot of places to order from in Royal Oak.

Worst customer service in the pizza business! Called today to use a coupon left on my front door and was told it was not honored, even though the coupon was left today. Asked to speak to a manager, was put on hold for 10mins and when employee came back on the line, was told «life happens» and hung up on. Was not allowed to speak to a manger at all. Will not be returning or recommending.

Pizza is great, especially when it is right next to work and you can grab some during lunch. Other things that are good; cheese breads, calzones, other pizzas and pizzas with meat. Go here if you are hungry and are human and like things.

As a long time customer of Primo’s in Birmingham, this location is a big letdown. A simple large square pepperoni pizza is even too much for them to handle. I was told it would be 15 minutes for the carry out and after 40 minutes, the girl with blue hair finally handed me a «pizza». No sauce and only half of the slices had pepperoni. My last 3 visits were all the same.
I won’t be back. Don’t waste your time or money.

This place has messed up my order twice already and I will never eat here again. I ordered a cheese pizza well done and got a lukewarm pizza and the dough was slightly raw in the center. I asked for extra sauce and got hardly no sauce. The cheese was not cooked thoroughly either. I called to address the issue and the manager could have cared less. No apology either. This is by far the worst place for pizza. I’m sticking to Benitos pizza from now on.

Pizza is full of flavor premium toppings love the pepperoni and you have to try the garlic creamcheese dip. Subs and pastas are good too. I love this place.

Used to be a great spot for pizza carry out. Has been on a bit of a decline the last few times. Will give them one more chance, but my basically raw pizza I got last time has me pretty distraught.

I didn’t ask for anything but Anthony the owner, comped me a free pizza and an invitation to his new restaurant. he stepped up to correct the issue

I ran into someone that used to work here that I used to see every few days when I stopped in for slices and he explained everything that happened.
1) Opened doors mirroring the Primo’s in Birmingham. VERY good stuff! Brought in famed restaurateur Buddy Orlando and some top local pizza chef talent. Chef Ross Bock oversaw the kitchen as a professional, educated chef.
2) Everything seemed fine. But the owner decided he wanted to mirror the crappy Oak Park Primos that closed down decades ago so he brought in some relic that used to own it. According to what I was told that guy pretty much ruined everything good.
3) Some of the top local pizza talent left, then Buddy left. Then Chef Bock left. Replacements rushed in to replace them weren’t up to par.
So there you have it. That’s why your pizza here isn’t up to snuff. Now it’s some strange amalgam of a cheap frozen bar pizza combined with a Frankenstein mix from Oak Park and Birmingham Primo’s.
Head over to Green Lantern or Pizza Popolous instead.

Tried placing an order over the phone asked the girl what was more popular round or square and I guess that was too difficult. From what I’m seeing from others I’m glad I hung up.

Since Unilocal is forcing me to write a Review… I was expecting a similar Primo’s Pizza experience, not even close…

Small carry out place with below average pizza. I’d rather eat that cardboard they sell at Little Caesars and have some money left over.

Wow. This place has gone from good to bad. The «garlic» breadsticks had no seasoning or herbs on them, tasted like they popped them out of the freezer and warmed them up. Terrible. And the pizza … Wow. Comparable to a cafeteria pizza. Never again.

Decided to finally order from here since the Oak Park/​Ferndale location is officially closed. I called around 8 pm and asked if they delivered to my address and they said yes we do. The person taking the order could barely take the order which was very simple. I asked if they could accept a credit card but she had issues taking the number. A simple order which should have taken two minutes to place took 10 – 15 just to place the order. An hour later i get a call from the delivery person stating they sent him to the wrong city. Apparently he called them back and they sent him to three different addresses with my order before finally showing up on my doorstep almost two hours after I placed the order. The delivery person was nice but I politely sent him away with my ice cold food amd chose to skip dinner for the evening. Maybe I should thank them for saving me the calories today but not likely to order from there again. If I do I should order a double side of good customer service.

Primo’s pizza in Royal Oak is, I believe, related to the Primo’s of Birmingham. It is a side door type of outfit, contiguous to Hamlin Corner, and for carry out mostly but they do offer delivery for a fee. We have received their flyers in the mail quite a bit recently, given where we live, and tried their carry out pizza last evening, and if you have a coupon it’s a pretty good deal. Other than pizza they have wings, salad, pasta and desserts as well.
Unfortunately our pizza was just not up to the mark. The dough was soggy and flavorless. The cheese felt slathered on and almost cardboard-​y. I had to use all manners of seasoning to make it palatable. The garlic sticks were not sufficiently buttery or garlicky. I looked forward to trying this place out, neighborhood joint and new place and all that, and was sorely disappointed. 2 stars instead of 1 star because of the polite and helpful person taking the phone order and doing the check out.
