Great experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly, food was amazing! We had the Asparagus and Mushroom cheese and spinach artichoke dips, both very good. We were all very pleased with our main entrée choices(both vegetarian and meat eaters). Excellent find, we will be back.

My daughter is on a kick… She loves everything Parisian and wants to love in France. She has always been a fan of crepes and we figured this was perfect to celebrate her birthday. We had a little wait, it was a Sunday about 11am. It’s adorable, but super small. Clean. The staff was ok. The server was fabulous but the hostess/bus girls had attitudes and didn’t want to be bothered. I also could see the one chicks butt cheek so… They serve pop from a can. We never even were offered anything to drink other than the water the hostess brought us. My fiancé and I each got a chicken crêpe; they were both good, but pricey. I felt it was way over priced for what you’re getting. And mine was super spicy and I ran out of my can of pop AND water, took my fiancés water, but had to practically beg to get more. My daughter got a sweet crêpe and it was fabulous. Well worth it’s price– considerably less than ours and hers wasn’t from the kids menu ;) I don’t know that we would go back, but it was fun to try. Also– they don’t have a sign on he bldg and we drove by 3 times before we figured out where it was…

Even though I never cared for the cramped feel of the space since I originally went when it was«What Crêpe», this was my guilty pleasure for carry out since the food has always been a little overpriced. Now that it has changed the food to an all«gluten free» option, it is not worth the old prices, much less the even higher ones. I have given this«new» restaurant a try twice(everybody can have an off day) but there is no way that my family will be wasting our money on these poor imitations of what used to be amazing crepes.

Ordered 5 crepes: The Mexican– tasty crêpe but the dipping sauce was too sweet for my taste Chicken truffle– super fresh and the chicken was perfectly seasoned Old Woodward– the favorite by far, the tofu and the feta were amazing together Appletastic– the apples were a little al dente meaning they were pretty crisp and firm still, also a bit too much cinnamon Mixed berry– very dense filling, a little too wet so it made the crêpe a little mushy. This is very berry but still not too sweet, strong raspberry flavor. Maybe they should drain the filling just a little more Two of these were ordered with the vegan crêpe which was excellent, you could hardly tell the difference. Overall awesome experience, cute, clean interior and nice staff.

Wow, who knew crepes tasted so good for lunch!!! Never really liked crêpe until went here. My lunch was beautiful. So colorful and also delicious. Definitely a place for a nice healthy, colorful lunch in Royal Oak. Friendly staff too. Clean looking place as well.

Three stars because they had a groupon offer going on :) This is a really small, quaint, Parisian-esque crepes place. It can get noisy when crowded and it is very easy to overhear a conversation from the tables nearby: P As for the crepes, they weren’t so great. I asked for some hot sauce because my savory crêpe seemed a little bland… But they didnt have any. I was charged extra for their house sauce without being informed by the hostess(although it was probably mentioned in the menu). Their coffee machine was down the time we went and so we couldn’t try their cappuccinos or lattes. Overall, ok place to go to with groupon not otherwise. :)

Ambiance is nice, very Parisian-making me yearn for the delicious French taste. Unfortunately it was underwhelming. Food was good, but average with average service.

This small establishment is decorated very nicely; Parisian feel. The food makes you yearn for more however. Server was very friendly. Probably won’t be back here again for crepes however.

Average and a bit expensive. I used a groupon which helped offset the steep price. In hindsight, we went because of the novelty. It wasn’t good enough to bring us back on taste or quality alone.

There’s everything to love about this place. I went with family and was able to taste each persons plate. They had savory crepes and I had a sweet Appletastic… We were extremely satisfied and will be visiting again!

i’m a crêpe fanatic so was dying to try out this place. The Crêpe has a café-like vibe with waiter-service and is conveniently located near a metered parking lot in downtown Royal Oak. we tried some of the dessert crepes which were decent. i’ll come back for the savory crepes sometime. the menu as a whole does seem overpriced what it is. overall a good place to go catch up with friends.

I love The crêpe. Have stopped here many many times since they reopened. Love the changes there made. It’s lighter and brighter inside without all the clutter they had going on before. I do wish they would dim the lights slightly in the evening to add more ambiance but it’s still lovely. I’ve love their house salad with tofu. My husband usually gets the Green Goat or Brie and Basil. Both are fantastic. We usually share the Appletastic crêpe for dessert. It is excellent! So very happy to have this gem in my neighborhood.

Cute little place The staff was very attentive, helpful and friendly. I had the«James Dean» with the housemade sausage, potatoes, etc. It was delicious!!! I followed it up with the«Bananas Exotique» and a cup of locally roasted coffee. Everything was fabulous!!! I like this trend I’m seeing in local restaurants, lately, with the housemade sausage… It’s REALLY good I may have to find a recipe for that, myself Overall, mine was an extremely pleasant experience!!!

We had breakfast at The Crêpe — my husband has wanted to go he saw that it had reopened after What Crêpe closed. Great location, cute dining room. We had savory crepes — the Bön Appetit and My Morning Jacket — both were good but not great. We have been working our way through the Royal Oak brunch places — The Crêpe is relatively expensive, and the plate is presented with no accompaniments, which is unusual among the brunch offerings in the area. They would benefit from serving some sliced fruit and a croissant with the crêpe. Overall, there are quite a few other places I would rather go on a weekend morning.

When we arrived all the tables were occupied, small place but cute and quaint. While we waiting for a sweet young girl to prepare a table for us, the head waitress and the chef were arguing and made the wait a bit uncomfortable. The food was good, it could have been better if the main course was hot and if they had all the ingredients to the crepes we ordered, who runs out of Swiss??? Having to substitute the cheese took away from what could have been a fantastic meal. We ordered a dessert crêpe(we had a 50 $ groupon that had to be used) filled with what reminded me of bananas foster. Very good but it’s sad when the dessert is better & hotter that the main course. This place was a one trick pony for me & my family… Gave us great ideas to try at home

An hour plus for a mushroom crêpe. Wasn’t checked up on/acknowledged/given an honest explanation as to why. Mediocre taste doesn’t add more stars after such poor service. Never again.

I was excited to try this place since it is such a unique concept for the area. However, I was disappointed. The first two things I tried to order they were unable to make because they did not have all the ingredients. This was especially alarming because they don’t have that huge of a selection of items to begin with– it should be a priority to keep all necessary ingredients in stock. My third choice was ok, but I do not plan to return for dinner in the future. I would consider returning for breakfast to see if their sweet options are better than what I experienced in the savory section of the menu.

I am falling more and more in love with Downtown Royal Oak. I bought a Groupon for $ 25 worth of food and it was definitely worth the trip. I ordered The Obvious and my friend went with The Green Goat. I was pleasantly suprised at how big the portion size was because the picture on Groupon makes it seem like the crepes are small.(Ours were stuffed!) They were perfectly seasoned and the sweet, tangy taste of caramelized apples were a unique touch. Prior to this, my friend had never tried goat cheese so it was a fun experience for us both. Even the restroom was stylish. A nice, modern restaurant. I can’t wait to come back. The only slightly, negative thing I would say is that they are a bit pricey. I was looking at the cost of each meal and thank God I had a discount voucher. If they’re gonna charge $ 10 – 15 per dish, it should at least come with a side.

I dined here a few days ago and fell in love. I took the plunge and had the ribeye crêpe stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. To top it off they accented it with their signature zip sauce. Since I was already so deep in I figured I may as well go for the gusto. The banana crêpe with toasted coconut, pecans, caramel sauce, and whip cream took it all the way home. This place was a home run, a touchdown, a whole-in-one, and a TKO. If your palate craves variety and freshness(nothing boxed or canned) this is the place for you. I cannot wait to go back.

I’ve been looking for another crêpe spot. The crepes were serviceable, but not the best I’ve had since girls go to Paris closed. I’m glad to have this place in a cool city, but the search continues.

Saw this on groupon and decided to try it out. Ordered a spicy chicken crêpe. Crêpe was good, nothing special or extraordinary. There was this special sauce that came with it… the taste resembled vegetable oil. To my surprise after refrigerating the leftovers… the sauce was solid like crisco or lip balm. I was confused. Service: mediocre. Even with carry out they spoke minimal and I had to hunt them down to take my order.

Holy crêpe! I had too… I was in Detroit for a visit to a whisky festival and need a salty, sweet breakfast to work off my night before. And nothing helps like Nutella and bananas! We got the sweet cream cinnamon crêpe with fresh strawberries, the james Dean with their own maple glaze, and the crazy monkey crêpe with Nutella. The crepes were thin and had just the right bite. The sweet glazes and creams were great. I was actually most impressed with the savory james Dean. The homemade sausage was legit. I would recommend this place for sure. Just get there early to avoid a line.

I went on Snday around 11am last week with my husband. We have been checking out crêpe restaurants in the area for awhile and this was our first time to try here. Dont come here hungry because their service is SUPERSLOW. Taste is good, but it seemed like the portion varies quite a lot. My crêpe was like half the size of the ones the table next to us were getting. I have been trying 2 crepes a week from different places for the past 2 moths and it smaller than other restaurants that serve crêpe as well.(but price is about double) If I didnt have the groupon deal, I dont think I want to go back again.

Love the renovations they did on this place! Changed menu. You can no longer create your own crepes, but the listed sweet ones are pretty solid at least. I cannot speak for the savory ones. Good service and cheery ambiance. Staff is very accommodating. Only had to wait 5 minutes on a Saturday. Next time my sweet tooth triggers I will definitely think of The Crêpe vs the more crowded brunch places in RO.

My boyfriend and I went here for brunch and we had a groupon for it. It was pretty good but way over priced which is mainly why I avoid going out to eat in royal oak. For a crêpe its between 10 – 18 $ but to its credit it was really tasty. Coffee was 2.00 for some plain ol’ coffee. Also, I personally dislike small restaurants which is the main reason why I give it 3 stars. All in all I will probably be back for the sweet crepes because they were that good but I’ll still complain to myself when the bill comes :^)

This location gets 5 stars for food but 3 stars overall from me. I had been here a while back when it was more French-themed — usually an Ann Arbor friend and I go to the A2 location when I’m in town there. I also used to go to the Birmingham location when it was open, so I’m not strange to What Crêpe, or «The Crêpe» as this location is now called(though outside it still says What Crêpe!). We happened to go here during RO Restaurant Week($ 15 for a crêpe + soup or salad … not AWFUL but other restaurants are doing better, 3-course deals for the same price) but we had bought a Groupon previously so we used that. At the Ann Arbor location, my friend and I usually do the«make your own crêpe» option(everything a la carte) and we didn’t see this on the menu here — we asked, and said we could do that, but they didn’t have a list of ingredients to provide us with … the waitress was kind of vague and was just like«you can choose from the ingredients in the other dishes on the menu.» We both got the Green Goat, since A2’s doesn’t have that, and it was very good, although a bit overpriced at $ 16.50IMO. Our waitress was a bit timid but otherwise fine; the hostess was very good — I think she was a waitress and not hostess, actually, but the hostess was on break or something — and both were nice. PROS to this location: –Some menu items you can’t find in A2(aka, the Green Goat crêpe we both ordered) –Nice downtown RO location CONS to this location: –Very tiny –No make your own crêpe menu(you can, but you’d have to ask) –Kind of a weird setup(and this was the same as the previous setup, too) where you have to cut through the waiter/waitress area to get to the bathrooms I’d maybe come back here if my mom or someone wanted to, but definitely with a Groupon. I’ll stick to A2’s meanwhile. Food is always delicious but I like how A2’s location is a bit bigger and also offers the make your own crepes option, WITH a list of ingredients from which to choose.

The Crêpe is an amazing spot if you want something more than just burger and fries or Asian, in Royal Oak. The first time I went, I was a little overwhelmed by the menu and all of the fancy ingredients. I landed on the Chicken Truffle, and haven’t looked back. Its mouth-watering and savory, and not only is it filling, but it is delicate too. I’ve tried many of the sweet crepes as well, and have just about died from their deliciousness. I would recommend the Appletastic, or the Chocolate Éclair. If you’re looking for savory though, the Chicken Truffle(or Spicy Chicken Truffle) are divine, as well as the James Dean and The Obvious.

Unilocal says open until 8. Their door says 8. Facebook says 8. Daughter and I get there at 6:55. Locked doors, two people eating. Two employees standing in the waiting area staring at us as we tried to get it. We left. Perfect sign they are not long for this world by closing early and turning people away. There would gave been four of us. Who knows how many others were stared at as they tried to enter Best to make the trek to Ann Arbor. At least their doors will be unlocked during business hours.

Let me preface this by saying that I have been to the Ann Arbor location and it was great, so I was really excited when I saw that this was opening up in the neighborhood. So. Disappointed. I couldn’t believe that this place had any affiliation. First, the décor and ambience are completely blah. Why have hanging ambient light bulbs if you’re just going to have nasty overhead lighting on anyway? I ordered the mushroom madness crêpe and was served a torn-up mess. Ok, crepes are hard to make, I get it, but if that’s all you make and you charge $ 13.50 for it, learn how to flip it. A few bites in, it was lukewarm and underwhelming. A few more bites, though, and I discovered a chunk of errant mystery meat in my vegetarian crêpe. Ugh! Now I’m actually glad for the super-bright lighting, because otherwise I might have accidentally disrupted 18 years of vegetarianism with god knows what is floating around that kitchen.
