Went for happy hour — one of the best around! Great atmosphere, great menu, great service! Will be coming here for awhile!

We wandered in here one night after Bastone was too busy for us. This ended up being a great selection considering we had one kiddo with us. Drinks were good, food came quickly although we were prepared for a slight wait by our server. My niece had a burger just the way she liked it, and my friend made her on burger. I opted for a salad which was just the right amount of food. We’ll definitely have to come back on purpose!

Came here last night for a glass of wine with a fellow Californian. We’re a bit spoiled by the wine bars back home, but overall enjoyed our experience here! Here’s the breakdown: Ambiance: comfortable — small tables, small booths, and then the bar Service: definitely waited a few minutes to sit down with no sign of anyone, but our waiter was very attentive and had good and honest suggestions for wine Food: only tried the scallops which were really tasty — definitely recommend, only comes with two large scallops, they have a decent sized menu of different small plates Wine: 1. selection: I wouldn’t say its the most comprehensive selection — I paid a lot more attention to the reds and there are of course a bunch of domestics from northern California(yay home), some French, and some South American wines amongst others. There is a MI wine section! This was nice to see, I think eating and drinking local is always a good thing, but there are only a few to select from. Multiple price points, can buy by the glass, carafe, or bottle; some wines you can only buy by the bottle, no surprise there. 2. you can taste before you order a glass — definitely recommend doing this! 3. folks who work here definitely can help you out if you have a flavor profile or type of wine to use! Enjoy Unilocalers! Hope this helps!

Great wine selection and they have my favorite happy hour. Their wine list is super helpful and easy to understand. If you’re new to wine it’s a perfect place to learn the wines. Friendly staff and they’re accommodating.

«This is not a place where you can just stand there.» That’s how we were greeted at this establishment by the waiter on Saturday night. I will never be back here. The menu is overpriced, as well.

I walked in by myself a few moments ago on this cool saturday evening and sat at the bar. There was one couple at one end and another couple at the other end, leaving about 6 – 8 empty seats for me to choose from. It’s a great thing the menus are already spread out across the bar, because it took the bartender a good five minutes before greeting me, and then another five before taking my drink order, so I doubt I would have been able to get his attention to order if I had to ask for a menu. I assume the bartender to be friends with one of the two couples because he spent an awfully long time talking to them and never checking on me, even when my glass was empty. So long that I decided not to order any food, left a few bills under my empty glass, and walked out. I almost wanted to skip paying altogether to see if he even notices, but I have a conscious. TERRIBLE service! I see no reason to go back when there are plenty of wine bars in the area.

Total Winner!!! Seriously the best find on our recent stay in the area. Outstanding selection of well priced wines — sparkling, whites & reds. This wine list was put together by someone with skills! And they have a happy hour from 4 – 6 pm 7 days a week(& Thursday 9pm-12am) where you can sample every wine by the glass for ½ off — how can you not sample a few? My husband found an Italian Red he loved so much, he ordered it online. I found a Washington Pinot Gris I loved, too. The small plates and pizzas are all ½ off during happy hour, as well. There are plenty of delights here, too. The ahi tuna and beef sliders were yummy — the chicken & chorizo pizza could up its game. Overall though, food seems very solid. I also saw you can order food from Bastone’s next door because the spaces connect at the back of the building. We liked this place so much, we visited twice during our week stay & will most definitely be back!!!

I knew I liked this spot from the moment I walked through the door. Yeah, I love wine bars but this one had a great feel right away. Dark wood, cozy bar, booth seating along one wall, a wall of wine bottles tempting you as you settled in at the bar. Yep, my kind of place. Plus, a fabulous wine menu. There are tons of wines and sparkling beverages to suit any taste. And so many available by the glass! Bottles are priced very well and not with the high margins you sometimes see in some«fancy» places. We came twice for happy hour in one week and if we had stayed in the area one more day we would have come back again. It’s that good. All wines by the glass are half off. I drank some wines I normally would have passed on due to price but was able to sample. I found one in particular I love so much I’ve ordered a case online. So be aware of that pitfall! The appetizers include pizza and are half off as well. We loved the ahi tuna and the gourmet sliders but weren’t a huge fan of the chicken and chorizo pizza. But perhaps we ordered wrong there. Would love to see a couple more traditional pizzas on the menu but that is clearly nitpicking. This place is just fabulous! And the happy hour runs every day!!’ What’s your excuse for not going? Amazing!!! Might be my favorite place in all of Royal Oak.

Good food and great wine. I found it a bit on the expensive side but a nice low key spot to share wine and catch up with friends. Read the reviews and was never offered a happy hour special. Went mid week around 6:30 pm. Do not remember seeing anything about happy hour.

Great spot! We just moved here and decided to try Vinotecca given the great reviews. We were very impressed and will definitely be back. The service was amazing, our waiter was very knowledgable of the food and shared with us his recommendations. The food we had was great. They have a solid menu of small plates with many options to chose from. We were offered the opportunity to order from Bastone if we wanted more of a dinner portion, but I didn’t feel that was necessary given the selection and reasonable prices for their menu. Get the tuna, we really enjoyed the favors! Great job Vinotecca, we’ll see you soon!

Stopped in here before a concert on a Friday night with my mom and a friend. Was pleasantly surprised by the friendly greeting and great service. It was happy hour which made it even better — ½ off wines and apps. We had some wine, an appetizer and ordered dinner of Bastone’s menu — the restaurant connected next door. Everything was great, but our server was fantastic. Put in a wine order a couple minutes after happy hour ended and he still gave us happy hour prices. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely LOVE the HAPPYHOUR here! Key points on happy hour first: — Runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Mon to Sun, and 9 p.m. to closing every Thursday — Half off pizzas(original price is ~ $ 12). 4 pizzas to choose from. One pizza has 6 slices. — Half off wine glasses(original price is ~ $ 8 — 20). Prob ~ 20 wine choices. — Half off appetizer plates(original price is ~ $ 8 to $ 20). 15 appetizer choices. — 20% off wine bottles. What I love is that the food is good, the ambiance is trendy, and the happy hour menu is huge. It’s not just the«crappiest» wine on sale, it’s choose your own wine and it’ll be 50% off for example. For the appetizers, I’d highly recommend the Ahi Tuna(regular $ 14, happy hour $ 7), Hazelnut Scallops(regular $ 15, happy hour $ 7.50), and Gourmet Sliders which comes with 2 sliders and fries(regular $ 8, happy hour $ 4). I also love that the happy hours are available on the weekend, as well as on Thursday late night so that’s the best night to bring any co-workers. I’m still trying all the happy hours around Detroit and Royal Oak, but so far this happy hour is definitely ranked #1 for me so far.

Nice service and nice fancy cocktails that are not too expensive and very creative. I had one that tasted like Christmas. It was good and I didn’t know what a single one of the ingredients were. They have small plates that range from $ 10-$ 18 if I remember correctly, and pizzas/salads. I didn’t try any food, just my Christmas drink.

So glad this was a choice for restaurant week. The stuffed avocado, scallops, filet, sushi, cherry cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were all great! The scallops were melt in your mouth good, and the filet was cooked to perfection. The sushi was worth the $ 35 alone, 24 pieces is more than enough for 2 people let alone 1! Great date night

Great Happy Hour with incredible service. I have been here several times and I keep going back. The wine selection is good, but the service is better. Every time that I go, I am impressed with the staff. The staff is knowledgable about the wine and the menu, so you can ask questions and get good answers. Most recently, I was sitting at the table that was a little wobbly. Nothing to bad, but it was slightly annoying. Our waiter noticed and got done on his hands and knees(during the Michigan winter, you know that floor is gross) to fix it. I’m not a huge pizza fan, but their flat breads are pretty tasty. The appetizers are good, but they are a little pricy if it is not happy hour. However if I am honest, I go there for the wine and not the food.

If you’re looking for a private setting fit for 2 – 4 people this is definitely the place for you! Conveniently located just before 5th street and main and attached to bastones, vinotecca offers a beautiful wine menu that offers different wine varieties from all over the world. Debating between bastones and vinotecca? Debate no further because the customer can enjoy food both from bastones and vinotecca when dining here. We ordered the bastones Mac & cheese, with a margarita pizza from vinotecca and the steak bruschetta from the appetizer menu of vinotecca. All three were incredible and definitely recommended. Calamari is cooked differently at both restaurants vinotecca does a light pan fry, whereas bastones is battered and deep fried. Choose either one depending on what your taste buds are telling you that night! Great wine, great food!

Came here for happy hour w/a coworker after work on Thursday, 9 to close. Half off small plates and half off glasses of wine. The food was a bit bland, had the Steak Bruschetta and the Pork and Pear Pizza. There was a good variety of wines which were good and poured generously. Worth going if you’re into wine and going during happy hour, otherwise, just an OK spot.

Vinotecca is that place that you go with your sister, or girlfriend, when you’re having a bad day and just need to vent over some good wine and good food. Or it’s a good place for your significant other to take you when they really feel fond of you. Or I’m sure it would be just fine for you to stop in yourself after a hard day at work. What I’m really saying here is that it’s quiet, but not too quiet; inviting, but not casual; and fancy, but not pretentious. With a slew of excellent grapes on the menu, there’s something that’s bound to please most. Whether you’re a wine aficionado or novice, you can go here without the fear or being disappointed by the selection nor overwhelmed by it, respectively. Their menu codes the big markers of wine(fruity, bold, earthy, etc.) to make it easy to hone in on what might please you most. I enjoy that they have everything from local(L. Mawby!) to true champagnes. The menu is also excellent. The chefs here are quite talented and I appreciate their ever-evolving menu. My sister and I split the profiteroles over some bubbly and could not have been happier as we caught up on life on a Saturday night.

This one of my go to spots on a Friday or Saturday evening. Perfect for friends or a date! You can always get seated rt away, and their outdoor patio is fantastic for people watching! Love the wine and love their dessert! Sometimes you can even order items from Bastone’s menu since the two are connected. Love their lobster Mac n’ cheese when they have it on the menu! Overall great drinks and ambience! One of my favorite places in RO!

A year ago to the day I met someone very special here for the first time so it only seemed fitting to return to the scene of the crime and sit at the same table. Our server was genuine and warm, the ambiance, per usual, was inviting and the food was fantastic. We tried their margherita pizza, the Vegetable Pakora and their fish tacos. I’d recommend it all. The pizza was light and would give Biga a run for their money. The Pakora was a tempura spin-off served with a Sriracha mayo that was great although I didn’t’ get any curry flavor from the batter as described, but it was still really tasty and light. The Mahi tacos were great but I think they may have run out of taco tortillas as mine were served as one big tortilla, filled, halved and overflowing with slaw and fish. A little cumbersome but really tasty and seared just right. It can get a little noisy in here and they don’t take reservations but I have yet to be disappointed.
