Just awesome. First time visiting Richards and it was terrific. Had the prime rib which had a great smokiness to it. I LOVE that they allow BYOB. We brought a great bottle of wine which really complimented the meal. Our new favorite spot close to home.

I’ve been coming to Richards since it opened. You would not expect this level of steak out in no man’s land on Hwy 276. Every thing is good but here is my tip to you. Richards only serves Prime Rib on Saturday night. I’ve eaten Pre Rib from coast to coast and theirs is one of the best that I’ve had. I recommend you order their dinner salad, Prime Rib and loaded baked potato. There is no better meal, also take it from a regular, call ahead and reserve your Prime Rib. I have seen them sell out of this favorite cut by 6:30 so head my advice to avoid missing out.

My husband and I love this place! I have been there twice and both times ordered the pork chop! So delicious! I ordered the mashed potatoes and honey buttered carrots with the chop and it was yummy! My husband ordered the burger and said it was one of the best he’s had. First time I saw him not add any condiments to his burger because he said he didn’t want to mess with the flavor of the burger. Now, that’s a compliment! The rolls were addictive and it’s difficult not to fill up on them. They came out warm and soft each time. The homemade ranch dressing was also delicious so it’s a must try. We ended the meal with the bread pudding, and although it was good, I’ve had better. A bit too sweet and dense for us. Overall, outstanding service and outstanding food! We’d visit this place more often if they weren’t open only for dinner Thursday-Saturday. :)

When you are driving east out of Rockwall on SH276 you don’t expect outstanding restaurant choices in Quinlan or on the way. Time to get some new expectations. Richards Smokehouse is not just outstanding, it’s astounding. The St. Louis style pork ribs are the best I’ve ever had. So tender, just melt in your mouth nirvana. The sauce is sweet and compliments perfectly. The brisket is tender without bark or burnt ends. Yeah, those are good, but you don’t miss them with this brisket. It comes with a tangy sauce. You might opt to try the St. Louis sauce. The fresh rolls that come out first are fresh out of the oven, light, and sweet. It takes discipline to not down too many. Use them to make your own brisket sliders. All of the sides I’ve tried have been good to great. The banana pudding is good, but I’d hoped for more with how everything else is. The service is super attentive and friendly. I have no qualms giving Richards a 5 star rating. I do wonder though, why open just Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings? Yes, those are the busy times, but how can they thrive being open just 12 hours per week? I don’t know, but I will work my schedule around theirs.

I found this bbq place by Unilocal I wanted something different no chain restaurants. And the reviews were great so I went on a Thursday night about 8:00 not too crowded but a nice cozy atmosphere. The waitress was nice. The rolls out of this world delicious my small tiny daughter ate 4 ! I had 3. I had brisket and ribs with mac n cheese and a side salad. Firstly the ranch was delish the best I’ve ever had. The ribs were cooked perfectly to my liking the brisket tender and juicy. Salad was so fresh my son had a burger it was rib eye beef the bun tasted homemade it was huge. The fries oh the fries they were crispy fresh seasond perfectly. And I loved the bottled cokes made with pure cane sugar. The only thing I could think that wasn’t the best would be we had to wait a bit to get our ticket and wait to cash out a little longer than I liked. Next time I’m going to try ordering their take out. But I found my new bbq place. We loved it I would recommend to anyone who likes good food.

Driving through Texas on the way to Dallas, I noticed this highly rated restaurant, in the middle of nowhere, and decided to check it out. After blowing by it, and doing a u-turn, followed by another u-turn, I finally found it. Note to others, look for a large billboard, across from a church. Once inside, I was seated by a lovely hostess. The yeast rolls with butter went down smoothly, and the brisket/ribs plate with baked potato really hit the spot. While I’ve had better brisket in Texas, between the service, quantity, price, and taste, this is about the best that I’ve had. I highly recommend it.

What we loved: the pork ribs were great! Tender, juicy and delicious. Cooked just right. We preferred the sweeter BBQ sauce over the the tangy but both were good. The homemade yeast rolls were excellent. Fresh, hot, and fluffy – some of the better rolls I’ve had out at a restaurant. If you get a dinner salad, the homemade ranch was delicious. We got the potato salad and coleslaw as sides. Both were solid. The potato salad had a mustard base and it came through well. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, not overly creamy. What was ok: the onion rings only come as a side order. They are huge and are a decent amount. The batter is seasoned and flaky, not the beer-battered kind. But they came out kind of soggy, and the batter wasn’t the kind I particularly like. We got the bread pudding dessert which seems to be a local favorite. They run out quickly, so locals call ahead and reserve them. Not too dense, but it was smothered in a rum sauce and was altogether very rich and sweet. It was tasty but too rich for me – my heart really wasn’t in to it. What fell short: the beef brisket was too lean and dry for my liking. The pull-pork was just as uninspiring. Both seemed to have been the dregs of their batches. Disappointed. What could have been: if we ever came back this way, I would try the burger. 80% of the dishes coming out of the kitchen were the burgers. They looked huge! And pretty amazing. Service was great. Very friendly and prompt. 3 ½ stars.

Absolutely love this place. The staff is hilarious and friendly. The food is fabulous and they have the best homemade ranch I’ve ever had. Everything here is so good. They have hand cut fries that rock! The creamed corn is really good. Can’t forget the cheeseburgers and grilled chicken. Keep up the good work. I’m very impressed.

Absolutely love this place. Great BBQ, great steaks, great all around. The wait staff is always friendly, smiling and have been well trained. The yeast rolls are out of this world. Only thing I have ever eaten here that was mediocre was the Mac and cheese. I was expecting it to be rich in flavor and it lacked, however, I still could not justify taking away any stars. If you want good food this is the place to go. Always fresh and never displeasing.

This family-owned restaurant is awesome! Yeast rolls, made in house, are served up front and are just TOO good to resist. We had the Wood Fired Rib Eye Steak; it had a wonderful mild smoky flavor and was perfectly cooked. The wait staff are very attentive and make you feel like they are really glad you are there! I think you will be very glad you came by this place!
