This is some of the best, authentic Mexican food I have ever had! I can never order anything else besides their enchirito because I’m obsessed with it! The lady that runs the place is as sweet as can be too!

Reasonable prices, family run with real Mexican recipes. Tasty mole sauce. BYOB ok. Not the greatest neighborhood but we love the food. Lunch combo till 3:00. If the red sauce doesn’t have the kick you want with your chips just ask for verde sauce.

Small kind of run down building, where the men’s restroom requires a key and an outside walk around the building to find it, lol. The food is authentic with a good taste. Service was average. Prices were average. The food seemed similar to most of the other authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at. Nothing stood out but it wasn’t bad either.

Ok, so when i pulled up to the building I almost didn’t go inside due to the appearance. I built up the courage and went inside and am so glad I did. The food is defiantly not an elegant restaurant but the taste and authenticity of the food earns it a 5 stars! They staff was awesome as well. I would defiantly go again! Do not be fooled by outside appearances.

This place would be better named«Mr. John’s House», because the the name«Don Juan» is too Mexican for the food they serve here. If you’re expecting real deal Mexican food from a region that is made up of mostly Mexican immigrants, don’t go here. It’s more expensive than real Mexican food and definitely lacks el sabor de Mexico. First of all, the Monday taco special includes only 3 meats: chicken, ground beef(a la taco bell) and shredded pork. Wait, you wanted carne de bistek or al pastor? No entiendo. Second, the tacos came with shredded yellow cheese. I’m sorry… did a taco bell cook recently quit and sneak into your authentic Mexican restaurant? Since we were very hungry and had already gone though half the basket of nacho’s we felt obliged to stay. Blasted human decency of ours. There is hope, however. A half-mile down the road there is a real-deal, made-for-Mexican but gringos welcome, establishment called«Los Amigos.» Cheaper and authentic. Now, if you want to go where the locals go and where English is a side dish that may or may not be served, just another half mile down the road is a food trailer called«Taqueria Guanajuato»… open air with a nice tent cover and all you can eat toppings. Save the real Mexicans by driving the extra half mile across the border. No papers required.

Food is bland and menu is basic. Just a very plain jane mexican restaurant. Staff was friendly but food just isn’t very good.

I must admit, Mexican is only my cuisine of choice when it’s smothered in cilantro and lime. Neither of these two elements were to be found in/on any of our dishes, which lead me to find the food pretty mediocre at best. Some items were over salted/seasoned — like the rice and beans. Others left much to be desired, like the guacamole and ground beef. For $ 6.50 you can choose 3 items from their lunch menu. My partner and I decided to sample all 6 of them and we found each of them to be pretty bland… all except for one. The brown sauce(a mole sauce I think?) was downright amazing. My partner confessed that every time he and his family go there, every one of them gets the enchirrito, and I can see why. I’d go back just for this sauce. The service was nice as well, our waitress was very accommodating and sweet to each of the customers, despite being the only person attending the tables while we were there.

Don’t come for the ambiance, come for the food. Order the Don Juan Plate and loosen your belt a notch. Amazing food and you’ll get to sample a bunch of different items.

From the outside, it looks a little janky, but the food was actually pretty good. My mother is Hispanic and she came along for supper tonight, and she stated some of the dishes were«authentic» Mexican dishes(the tamales, the flautas). We were both a little confused/interested in the brown sauce covering the enchiladas, as it was almost sweet. Our server said it was the way it was prepared in their region of Mexico. It wasn’t bad, just very different from the«normal» red sauce. We both agreed the rice and ground beef in the tacos needed salt, but as I said, the food was pretty good. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff was friendly.

VERY authentic Mexican cuisine. Consistently excellent in quality. I routinely take clients and students here. It is family run and very friendly. Daniel is a fantastic guy and stand up gentleman. Service is very fast but does not taste fast. Their dark enchilada sauce is amazing! Even if you come by once a month, you will be treated like family. Great folks!

My family and I have been to the Casa too many times to count. We go for simple reasons. The food is always really good, the staff is always smiling and the place has simple charm. I am finally reviewing to do my part to ensure they stick around. It’s so nice to go to a local place that is not a chain and really feel like a part of the community. My wife loves the Cheese enchiladas with green sauce. It fires her up with flavor and some heat. I have the quesadilla and always request shrimp which is off the menue. They always accomodiate and it is fantastic. Kids menu gets the job done. Taste, service, charm and price are all top notch. See you there.

Not too many places in the area to grab some quick but not fast food Mexican, this is the best we have found in the Apollo beach general area, you can do better in brandon but that is 30 min away.
