Great sub and at a his price. Don’t come if you’re not hungry or want a selection. They only have one sub, but that is all you need. If you area in Ruskin or passing through you must stop and grab a sub. Just bring a friend or 2 the 14 inch sandwich is a beast.

This place is unique to say the least. Yes, the employees are a bit eccentric, there are limited food options, and cleanliness may not be their forte, but as I’ve said, the uniqueness of this place is where you will find its strengths. What you will find in this peculiar little corner of Ruskin, is a pretty darn good sub. The vegetables(if you like vegetables on a sub) aren’t just good, they are exceptionally fresh. The onions and tomatoes always seem to be freshly picked, and the cherry peppers are perfect. The subs always come out juicy, so it’s best to eat them right away while they’re still hot and fresh. If you were planning on taking one home, I recommend holding off on any vinegar or oil btw. While I feel that $ 9 is a bit high for what they are asking, they seem to have no problem finding plenty of business, so I think I’ll stick to what I’m best at– enjoying these surprisingly delicious subs!

This place is great, been going here since I was a child. This isn’t your typical sub place so don’t go there thinking of subway or publix. They have their own distinct taste and style. For me growing up here it is one of the spots for subs!

Without a doubt best subs on the west coast of Florida. The uniqueness of the place is you can only order one type of sub. After you eat it you’ll understand why. Get everything on it including the hots only way to go!

I have grown up eating this delicious sandwich. I personally LOVE that you get one choice only! It is their establishment and they shouldn’t change for anyone! People who have an issue with that are silly and should go to a Subway or wherever else. This place is a little gem in the Ruskin area, it always has been. If you want a delicious and unique sub, look no further. This sandwich does not disappoint!

I love their sandwich with the hot pickled peppers on it. In my opinion it’s the only good food Ruskin has to offer.

We get one of these subs for the 2 of us around once a month. They are tasty and worth the price. I really enjoy the dressing they put on the sandwich. The sub builders are a hoot. These are simply delicious sandwiches.

In a word; YUCK ! They only make one meat choice of sandwich — so you might think that they would be the best at it but sadly NO ! I purchased a half and was offered a few toppings to customize the sub and then the woman turned around and walked to the cooler and pulled out a pre-assembled sandwich wrapped in plastic. What a let down ! The meat is a bologna, salami hybrid with bad texture straight out of a 1970’s school lunchroom . The tomatoes were almost liquified . I have lived in Ruskin since 1995 so I’m a local and I have asked around with my neighbors if they have tried this sandwich and we all agree it’s bad. I think they must have their family review them to keep up the star average . P. S. The bread was bad too ! It was the first time I have ordered food and thrown it all away.

Marian ’ s has been in the same location & building on Hwy. 41, for soon many years, I have no idea, at least 20. With restaurants closing dailiy, where else can you find a line for a hole in the wall that only serves 1 sandwich? Marian ’ s in Ruskin. They have made the same Italian sub sandwich & that is it since it opened. You have a choice of 8 or 16 inch. The 8 will fill you up, bit I always get the 16″, for the next day. The bread is fresh, fillings fresh & ample, service the same 2 older women, the owners, I presume. Depending on the day & time, you may have a wait. Boaters line up to get sandwiches to take fishing, people watching sports …& just hungry folk like you & I. You can depend on a damp good Italian sub & quality & consistency is always stable. Give it a try & you will be back. What’s a girl to do? Try a hole in the wall & find a killer sub.

Recommended from a friend while I was house sitting for my sister. So good I ate here three days in a row! One of the best subs I have ever had! This place is a must!

Marian’s is certainly unique. It is a guilty pleasure we might take out once a month or so. They are tasty, soggy, and unlikely to be healthy.(So what in moderation.) Only 1 kind of sub that can be customized with hot or mild peppers. The 2 ladies that work there are ‘interesting’, but may turn off some people. Before telling an Obama joke, she asked if anyone had voted for him. They really try to hustle customer for tips which I find off putting.

Sandwiches are good but I question the employees personal cleanliness. Also I hate getting hustled for tips from the sandwich artists.

Visiting from Orlando, I was looking for some good local restaurants to eat. I’m a huge fan of subs/sandwiches so I knew I had to check this joint out. I stupidly didn’t read previous reviews that the only sandwich they offer is Italian. I initially walked out, as I was hoping for some variety. While sitting in my car, I thought to myself, «there’s probably a reason why this is the only variety sold here.» I walked back in and ordered the most delicious damn sub ever from two of the sweetest ladies. I would highly recommend this place if you like a good Italian!

Its unusual for a sub shop to only have one sandwich to pick from but its a great sub. Tried it fully dressed how they recommend it, very tasty and the whole is huge. It’s for sure a hole in the wall so don’t go if expecting anything other than that.

Fantastic! They only have one kind of sandwich in this little hole in the wall, but that’s all they need! Once you try it you’re hooked! Friendly service with a little sass makes Marian’s a must go to place when you’re in the area! Huge 18? ish inch sandwiches are another! I can’t wait to go back!

I’m not sure what it is about this sub, but whatever it is, it works. Like others have said, there is one kind of sub; your choices are whole or half and hold this or that standard topping. But if the sub you offer is as good as this one, you can get away with extremely limiting customers’ choices. Part of the appeal is the oven they use and the way they brown the edges of the salami. Also their unique hot pepper chips. I get a hankering for that sub every now and then, and nothing else will do. Highly recommended! Definitely worth the drive from I-75 for travelers – give the chains a miss and try a unique local institution!

Ok, heard they only had 1 sandwich and had to see what it was all about. Wife n I split a large and we were licking the crumbs off the paper! Kind of an Italian sub with bologna(I think) –didn’t have time to analyze ’ cause i couldn’t put it down ! If you want warm fuzzies /superficial waitresses go elsewhere but I think nailing a sandwich like this is a true rarity! I really miss LaSpada’s and Primanti Bros since we moved from S FL but this will fill my need!

Finally! a place that I can finally go to close to my house that’s actually worth a five-star rating. Customer service was perfect location was perfect and all around good experience. Marion’s subs is located right next door to the taco shop in Ruskin off of college and the 41. When you first pull up it’s not much of a sight, when you walk inside it’s not much of site in there either. When you look up to see what’s on the menu it’s true it’s only one item a whole or half you choose. Just like the menu you have very slim toppings to choose from they go in order tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle, pepper, and oil. I did ask for mayo and mustard but they said no they don’t have that. Once it’s in its wrapper and in your hand on your way home you can smell the goodness throughout the truck. I got home open it up and my first bite was just out of this world. Got done with the first half and decided I probably should only order a half instead of a whole next time. I can’t remember what the price was for a half but the whole was nine dollars. I will definitely be hitting this place up again in the future especially when I go fishing this will make a good sandwich on the boat.

They have one sandwich on the menu, and it is good! It’s kind of funny when you’re there and a newbie is confused about the one item«menu»… :-)
