The reference staff was wonderful, Sydny could not have been more accommodating and sweet. My daughter and I had to go check out something at circulation and the lady behind the desk could not have been more rude if she tried we both felt we were in some movie where the librarian is the stereotype of a very mean person. I will do the rest of my checkouts online unless I can work with the reference desk because I do not feel like crying when I go to the library

Yes, believe it or not Ruskin has a full device library. On the numerous occasions that I have been there, parking has always been easy & and the library hasn’t been overcrowed. Years ago it was much smaller, but now it looks as good as Seminole Heights or some of the other newer & larger libraries. Very progressive & state of art. Nice professional service & an out of the way place to find some hidden gems. I like to go there & browse whatever section I am into at the time: fishing, cooking, traveling. … and see what I can find. Nice library. What’s a girl to do? Yes, of course I read!

This library is totally awesome! Maybe I’m a little biased because I’m such a book nerd. They have a great selection. They also offer numerous programs and classes for all ages. My favorite part is the online system. You can put in requests on their website and when it’s ready for you, they email you. You then go in and pick it up.

If you have young children, this is the place to go. From birth to 3 years, they have all sorts of programs to get your kid(s) learning, and for you to socialize with other parents too. The woman who runs the kids’ programs, Michelle, is phenomenal at her job(recently won librarian of the year). Otherwise, the rest of the library is great too. A large children’s section, lots of computers, reference books, a nice outside section, plenty of parking. all kinds of good stuff. But really, when you’re out of ideas for what to do with your kid — and don’t worry, it happens to us all — use this library. It’s a great place.

My love for the freedom that the library brings, started at 9 years old when the librarian said, «you have a library card, check out as many as you want.». I stilll get a tingle about that, anyway. I’ve been to libraries all over Hillsborough county, as well as North FL, and Columbus, OH. This hands down is the mac daddy of libraies. As soon as you walk in this HUGE library, there are the RESTROOMS… ahh…on the right. On the left is a snack lounge with vending machines for a quick snack or drink. They have a buy it book room(great prices). Then you go through the siding glass doors… this place is HUGE… it needed said again. Has all the typical library selection of movies, books, internet computer access, many rooms to have privacy, and the jewel… the geneology dept. with free help. Not to mention the many arts, watercolor, poem contests, and childrens book readings that go on in this place. I’m in love with this place. It’s something free to enjoy, can’t say that about too many places. The a/c is always cool. I love to look for books on-line and then have them sent to be picked up at my local library. I love the e-mail alerts to pick up, and the notice it’s due. The people are friendly and even more helpful. This is a free public access to us all, I’m happy I take advantage of it.
