We stopped here with a group after visiting the area for the weekend and we were not impressed with this place.
First of all, they advertised a «bbq plate» — which was really just shredded pork, a soggy bun, and nasty bbq sauce. I had the cheeseburger which tasted like the patty had been pulled out of the freezer and slapped on a bun. It was gross. Another person in our group ordered tater tots with his order, but got fries instead. Was not impressed AT ALL with the food served here.

I’m calling BS on the «hickory» BBQ. There was no smoke flavor whatsoever. Soggy bun and a staff that huddled around a window and talked instead of attending to customers. Too bad too, the outside looked inviting and the prices were good. I saw a plaque that stated they had been in business for 50 years. I left wondering how.
Literally the worst BBQ sandwich I’ve ever had south of the Mason-​Dixon Line. Sorry to say, but true.

We love this place. It is right on the side of the highway. Their ice cream is very good and they have a great selection of Southern favorites like slaw dogs.
