It’s okay. Quick stop for us, usually grab to go next door to Rusty Beaver. Food is usually greasy, edible but nothing really good.

Lin’s gourmet has hands-down, the best chinese food in the area. i crave the sesame chicken, general tso’s chicken, and egg drop soup all the time. i wish they delivered, but other than that, i totally can’t complain.

Just passing through on my way to MD. Really good fresh food. A real hit with the locals. There was a lot of foot traffic. Service was great!

Delicious and fresh food. Some of the best Chinese I have had. Everything was made fresh and you should definitely consider it for a lazy Netflix marathon night dinner.

Stopped here on my way to Washington D.C. My initial impression was that this restaurant is like Panda Express. I tried Lo-Mein here. I have tried the same dish at Panda a lot of times. I thought the same dish at Lin’s Gourmet was way tastier. The food was made to order and they also allowed customization. The quantity was huge. I could not finish it all for lunch.

Lin’s has a standard Chinese take out menu, and they’re always pretty fast at getting an order ready. We’ve always been happy with our food, and they give you a ton of food for your money. I’m a fan!

Simple, typical Chinese takeout. It’s a small town, so having a mediocre Chinese option is nice when you are feeling particularly lazy, however I would never order from Lin’s otherwise. All of the meats are always over-done and dry, so terribly that, due to the fact that everything is so heavily drenched in sauce, you still need to take a drink with every bite. I give it three stars simply because there aren’t many competitors around and it’s cheap for a lot of food, but the food is lacking any kind of quality what-so-ever. They would also probably benefit greatly from offering delivery, simply because the only reason anyone even gets food from here is because they don’t want to go out of town, let alone their homes.

Super fast and cheap with huge portions for both lunch and dinner. Took maybe 5 minutes. Nothing super amazing, just good Chinese food that really fills you up.

HUGE portions! Mega bang for your buck. On our way up to Philly, we stopped by Ladysmith, Virginia off of the highway for a quick bite to eat. Little did we know that this fast food Chinese joint would actually be pretty decent. They have lunch and dinner combos that come with an egg roll and soup; and like I mentioned above, the portions are humongous. They give you so much food, it looked like we didn’t even make a dent in it. For about $ 9, a dinner combo could feed 2 – 3 people comfortably. The taste was your basic kind of Chinese food. And for a weekday night, a lot of people were coming in and out to pick up their take-out. Not too shabby, Lin’s.

Without a doubt, I can say I’ve had better Chinese take out. Lin’s Gourmet was anything but. We were driving through the area looking for a quick place to eat. We saw the 4 star rating and figured it was better than stopping by a fast food joint. In hindsight, fast food would have been better. We ordered the shrimp lo-mein, triple delight(it was actually called something slightly different, but essentially is what everyone else calls triple delight, i.e.- shrimp, chicken, beef with vegetables), and shrimp with broccoli. Even though we ordered to eat-in, everything was packaged to-go. That just makes my needles on my enviro-meter instrument cluster go haywire. The 3 R’s(Reduce, Reuse Recycle) is supposed to help your bottom line. Anyway, I’m not docking any points off for that, since they did seem to figure out how to recycle the 5-gallon bottled water dispenser by filling it with tap water. Though I can’t normally tell or care to tell the difference between bottled water and tap water, I could tell easily it was tap water. But hey, I’m actually a proponent of tap water. It’s a water cooler and the water was cold. Thumbs up for that. I do begin to take away stars for the quality of the food. Shrimp lo-mein was a-okay. The noodles is what I expected, but the small shrimp was a little bit too soft/mushy. Otherwise a-okay. Triple delight was terrible. I already mentioned the small shrimp wasn’t that great, the chicken and the beef used is not the kind you buy the from the grocery store. It’s some kind of highly processed meat that looks and tastes nothing like the real thing. We didn’t even bother finishing the triple delight. It always pains me to leave food, because I always think of the poor starving children, but I think even they would be highly suspect too. LOL. I didn’t much care for the carrots in this dish either. They tasted a bit strong and bitter. The biggest turn off had to be the white rice itself. You expect it to be «white» right? Much of the rice appeared to have dark imperfections including one big black piece of «junk». I also noticed one of the small black specks was a tiny gnat or something like that. Everything adds up to be a less than a-okay Chinese food experience.

I tried the triple delight. Lots of yellow rice… very light on the shrimp and everything else. They do include a single spring roll which was a nice surprise. It was just OK on my 1st try… but sometimes that’s all they might get.

I’ve eaten here at least a dozen times in the past month. Each time, it’s the same guy that answers the phone and works the front desk. «Okay, ten minutes» he says, but it’s ALWAYS ready in five – lunch time or any time. They really don’t mess around. I strictly get the Sweet & Sour Chicken Lunch Special, so I can’t attest to the quality of the other items. The fried rice is obviously not going to be hibachi joint quality, but it’s still yummy. The egg rolls are delicious. The chicken is ALLWHITEMEAT and amazing every time – never gamey or tough. They always put napkins in the bag, as well as a fork and more sauce than you need. Not to mention it’s incredibly cheap – less than $ 7 and you’re stuffed. I mean totally stuffed. Anyone that gave this place fewer than five stars, you should try the sweet & sour chicken. Lin’s Gourmet of Ladysmith is totally off the hook, and a wicked-good deal. Again, the chicken used in the sweet & sour is delicious and legit.

Standard Chinese joint. They have just about anything you can think of. I stick to the General Tso’s of the crispy beef. If you like your food spicy, ask for it extra spicy. Their regular just doesn’t do the trick. Bottom line is, it fills my need for chinese food from time to time, and I am glad to have it right down the road.

We really enjoy Lin’s! I’ve been to plenty of take out chains but this one is better than most. There is more flavor to the food. Suggestion: if you like spicy food ask for extra spicy and tell them not to put the hot spice/oil on the side(they normally do that). It’s better mixed in. Their regular«spicy» isn’t at all. :)
