This is one of the few places where I’d buy wine retail. They are helpful and open on Sundays.

We stopped in here while visiting the Rutherford area for the Hambletonian horse race, and we needed a bottle of wine and six-pack of beer for our hotel rooms. Wow, was I impressed with the amount and variety of booze they were able to fit into this little shop! I was thrilled to find a bottle of cab sauv from Ancient Peaks, which is a small winery in the San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles area in California.(We visit Central Coast every year to enjoy their wine, and seeing some of the smaller wineries we love being represented on the East Coast is wonderful!) They also had bottles of the Dreaming Tree Winery’s Crush red blend, which is the only DT wine that we can’t get here in Pittsburgh. So, I picked up some bottles to enjoy on the trip, and some bottles to enjoy at home. Friendly staff, great prices, easy street parking outside: glad we stopped in!

I’ll join the chorus and sing the praises of Rutherford Wine Shoppe’s broad and varied beer selection. This is one of the few liquor shops in the area that’s not ghetto, but I wouldn’t say the prices are any higher because of it. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I ended up with a few great pinot noirs thanks to their council. They could use some help on their facebook promo game. You’ll see a post introducing a new beer with a caption from them that says«pretty good.» I can’t imagine that kinda praise is bringing in the crowds. Doesn’t bother me, I just want to see them grow so they can get even more beer choices in there.

Some friends turned me onto this place last summer and it was a thing of beauty the first time I set foot inside the store to see such an amazing selection of beer. It’s packed to the gills with goodness and every time you go you’re bound to find something new that’s worth trying. Your wallet and your case of gout won’t thank you — but that’s why credit cards and Allopurinol were invented.

Although it’s called the Rutherford«Wine» Shoppe, this place has an amazing beer selection! It’s truly refreshing to have a little local liquor store that stocks so many specialty beers; and I’m not talking about Sam Adams, Brooklyn or Dogfish Head. I’m talking about the more unique hard-to-find craft beers you don’t see everywhere. What’s more, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. This place is a must stop for any beer lover.
