Best calamari I’ve had in a long time! I give the food and service 5 stars! I will be back all the way from Florida!

Hands down best Italian restaurant in the area. Can go wrong w any pasta dish on the menu. Bronzino is to die for. Pizzas are cooked to perfection. Staff is friendly and inviting. Perfect place for a family night out. BYOB.

Several years ago this restaurant had wonderful food. Past glory. Everything we had was not good and the result of a heavy and inept hand in the kitchen. We won’t be back.

We had a reservation on a Friday or Sat night for 8pm. It was a few months ago but I’m still disappointed. We were very excited to try this place and had driven by it multiple times on our way to and from the train station. It was busy that night but we kept being told it would just be a few more minutes. Over an hour later after we saw many people who seem to be friends of the owner get seated they finally told us our table was ready. The waiter comes by to take our order and seemed in a rush and overwhelmed. He failed to mention any of the specials and we had to overhear the specials from the table next to us. He disappeared after we received menus and we didn’t end up ordering until 10 pm! We never received an apology for the inconvenience from anybody except the girl at the front desk who said it’s very crowded. I understand that sometimes restaurants get crowded, but we should have been better accommodated or told that there were no available reservations. At the very least some sort of apology and compensation would have been nice. A similar situation happened to us at another restaurant with less wait time and they gave us free appetizers and dessert and an apology from the owner. The food was good but not amazing and I will never go back to this place!

Food and service wonderful. Only suggestion the hostess should listen to the customers. We were two people asked for a bigger table was told by hostess all the tables were booked. Guess what they weren’t. And we saw two people as a table for four.

We recently had our daughter’s Christening party at Valentinos on Park. The Manager worked with us to plan the menu, and the food was excellent, as many of our guests commented. The room was set just the way we had imagined and the service was excellent for our family style lunch. Although we have hosted several parties(in Rutherford) before, it was by far our most pleasurable experience to host the party here. Food atmosphere and service were the best, we will definitely be back!

The food was delicious! My hubby and I tried Valentino’s tonight for the first time, and we were very pleased with our experience. Everything we had was perfectly prepared: fried calamari with delicious marinara dipping sauce, straccatella soup(spinach and egg broth soup), the warm seafood salad(which is listed as an appetizer, but I had it as my main dish. It was a huge bowl of mussels, scallops, and clams. So good!), veal francese, and sauteed spinach with garlic. It was all so fresh and perfectly prepared. We didn’t feel that anything was salty. It reminded me of the food I ate when I was in Rome. The décor is also very nice, and there was a live singer who was very good without being too loud. Two thumbs up! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it did take a long time to get our food. It was worth the wait, but it was almost 45 minutes between our appetizers and main courses. Very delicious foood… I just wouldn’t go it you’re in a hurry and/or starving when you walk in the door. It’s also a tad pricey, so certainly not somewhere you’d go regularly, but for special occasions and romantic dates, it’s a good choice.

This place is great!!! Don’t understand the previous bad reviews from people. Everything is perfect about this place from the owner to the food to the waiters. The calamari with pineapple chutney is one of the best appetizers you’ll ever try. Also try the ribeye steak with Gorgonzola cheese or any of the pasta dishes. You will not be disappointed.

My girlfried sydney and I visited Valentino’s this past saturday. With an amazing atmosphere, it was elegant and cozy at the same time. The room was open and sectioned off very well and the table layout was excellent. Not to mention the live piano player to add to the ambiance made it a wonderful evening. We tried a variety of dishes and sides, served by a great team, that completely won us over on our go to restaurant once we got to taste the food. From fish and steak, with sides of broccoli rabe with sausage, asparagus, and stuffed mushrooms. The dinner was spectacular. We got to finish it off with the in house made chocolate mousse and whipped cream. Now enjoying the left over mousse with girl scout cookie thin mints!

On Friday, February 13, my wife and I went here for dinner. We decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day a day sooner because we know how chaotic restaurants are on Valentine’s Day and how menus are limited and didn’t want to be rushed because of seating times. First off, the place is really nice. You walk in and you got nice warm feeling from the Decour and the wood-burning pizza Grill. we were greeted promptly & then seated. For an appetizer, we had carpaccio, broccoli rabe with sausage, & warm seafood salad. They were all delicious. The broccoli rabe was cooked to perfection him. No bitterness, just the right amount of garlic, and had the perfect consistency. The warm seafood salad was a pleasant surprise. There were clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, and bay scallops in the salad. I normally cannot stand bay scallops, but the bay scallops used in the seafood salad were tender, full of flavor, and were outstanding. For dinner, my wife had the lobster ravioli and I had the branzino. Both were really good. The branzino was served with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes. All were very good. For dessert my wife had ricotta cheesecake and I had panna cotta. Both were good. I cannot wait to go back there for dinner again.

I was excited to try this place and sad to say, I’m disappointed that I wasted a family birthday celebration here. The service was SLOW, the food came out SLOW and everything was salty. It was a hassle to order anything, the servers seemed stressed and way too busy, food took forever to come out meanwhile we saw one of the chefs chatting away to a table… Wouldn’t you think that if he knew his tables were taking over an hour to get food that he would be back there helping? Our food, when it finally did come out, tasted heavily of salt, we all ate it anyways because we were starving. I was just overall disappointed in the entire experience, as were the other guests along with me. I know I will not be returning. It’s a shame because there did seem to be some positive reviews.

Last night, my family and I came here for my Grandfather’s birthday. We had a table of a little over 20 people. The restaurant was very nice. It had an upscale feel to it and the staff was very nice. I was a little surprised, however, that for such a big table, we only had one waiter. He did a good job but the experience could have been improved with another waiter. Anyway, the food was very good. I ordered a margherita pizza with grilled chicken and had the caprese as an appetizer. The pizza was nice and thin, just the way I like it along with a nice crispy crust. The caprese was fantastic as well. The buffalo mozzarella was super creamy and the plate was terrific. I would encourage anyone to order it. Overall, I enjoyed Valentino’s. If you’re looking for a place with a nice upscale/Italian feel, then you’ll really enjoy it. I would definitely recommend it and would come back again.

I loved how attentive the servers and the owner was here. I also LOVE that it’s BYOB. Make sure you stop by Mason’s Cellars on your way if you go(I adore the owners). I love the ambiance, beautifully decorated, warm, and very inviting. We started with the stuffed calamari, it was tasty(not great, but good). I ordered the lobster ravioli for dinner. I thought it was really good. Overall, no complaints. In general, I have had better food, but it was definitely worth what we paid and met my expectations. I am such a huge fan of BYOB restaurants and I loved how amazing the staff was here, definitely made for a pleasant dining experience!

You’ll probably wait a while after your reservation time to actually be seated. Take the time to chat with the piano player(she loves requests!) and don’t stew over it taking so long to get your table ready, trust me, you’ll have no regrets once you sit down. So drink the wine you brought, look around the spacious dining area, check out other guests dishes and curiously look at the chefs bringing out various dishes to the other tables. Peruse the menu, take another swig of wine, try to decide which of the dishes you’ll try… My friend and I were, unfortunately, already a little full so only had enough room to try some pasta dishes. Mine was the homemade pappardelle with wild mushrooms and hers was the homemade ravioli with ricotta, spinach and herbs in a walnut sauce. I’m drooling just recalling those dishes. Definitely rich, fresh and full of flavor. I got some of the oil on my shirt(probably from slurping the delicious pappardelle noodles!) and the chef came out with a tide stick laundry pen for me to try and clean up the mess I made of myself! Now that’s service! We had to both leave like a bunch of Cinderella’s to our next event but the friends we left behind at the table got to sample the dessert and when I heard about it later I really regretted having had to split so early. Action plan for the next time I go: — Don’t eat for a day in advance to sample more of this delicious homemade food! — Wear black to hide any inevitable food stains(or just learn to eat slower!) — Start saving a couple dollars… place is a bit pricy! — Clear my schedule for the evening so I don’t have to rush out before I’m ready for dessert

You walk in to a smiling(and talented) piano player and immediately feel good and know you made the right decision to try this restaurant out. Being part of «The 99%» — the prices were a touch rich for my wallet but the food(and portions) made it hard to complain. Excellent apps, entrees(complete with the chef coming out to fillet the whole Branzino at your table), and desserts(something I never bother with but being so close to Christmas — I couldn’t resist). Clean bathrooms and kitchen(yeah, I’m that guy that got the 5-cent tour thanks to a friend) made the night even better. (Make reservations on the weekend — the place was booming when we went on a Saturday night and it took a while for us to get seated.) After a few more visits and trying different items on the menu — I had to bump them from 4 to 5 stars.(I’m already thinking about the next time I can make it over there.)
