Great good, great prices, great owner. Howie runs the place and is attentive and welcoming. Can’t beat their lunch menu.

Finally, we got a Chinese American Food Fix ! Since Panda Garden in Manchester closed, we have been bemoaning the lack of any decent places near us. Not that Panda was any great shakes, but it beat anything else in the area. So, we drove an hour to try New Kong Fusion with more than a little skepticism. We were pleasantly surprised for the most part. I am torn between 3 – 4 star… but next visit will determine. The Bad: Hit with odor cleaning fluid when we first walked through the door Server was too eager to clear off the bowl of YUMMY fried noodles before we had finished the last one. Skimpy portion of them. Asked for hot mustard and were served the tiniest portion– but again — it was excellent The TEA was dishwater-awful. Two large screen TVs — WHY? So tacky. The Good and Very Good: Ambiance is nicer than we expected; we thought it would be like a storefront with 1 – 4 tables. ‘Looks like a former Irish Pub with a lot of wood and dark green walls.‘Has a kind of old world charm. I had a huge portion of a stir-fried Seafood Platter. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked.5 Star… The veggies were a perfect al dente. 5 Star The scallops were TINY and there were few– but they were tasty — 3 star. One giant lump of Alaska King Crab was succulent — 4 star …2 small parts of the leg were suspect(bad odor)1 star. The prices are more than reasonable. 5 star Egg roll has a delicious crispy, not too greasy skin, inside is «MEH»…but it is all about the wrapper for me — so 4 star. The Fortune cookies were fresh enough. Service was efficient and fairly friendly. We will return to try more dishes. The menu is interesting with the inclusion of some Vietnamese style dishes. I was most pleased with the succulent shrimp. Ask before you order which dishes contain the larger shrimp. My husband had a fried rice with very small shrimps — but still enjoyed it.

One of the best chinese restaurants Ive eaten at in a long time. Happened to go there for lunch and was super impressed with the quality and the price. You cant beat the lunch special. Went for dinner last night, was equally impressed. Prices a tad higher but reasonable. Service, quality and presentation was spectacular. The fried dumplings are huge and delicious. Pupu platter came out in a tiki style wooden bowl with flames. Everything was tasty. Ive gotten the Tangerine Beef twice. So good. If you ask for spicy you get spicy! Can’t wait to go back to try more

The food at this place was amazing. Compared to the restaurants in the neighborhood it was relatively cheap. Their wanton strips were very good and he gave us free seconds. Sadly this place looked empty when we entered. The place deserves more credit.

On a day off from the mtn decided chinese food was needed. Drove to Rutland on a whim and had an awesome meal. Lunch special reasonably priced and delicious! I had the General Tsos chicken and the portion was perfect just enough that I took some home. The wonton soup had this cute little dumplings instead of the one big one, the soup was light and flavorful with the perfect amount of substance ! I also enjoyed an order or stemmed dumplings and they were very nice 6 in an order. I highly recommend this place!

I have eaten here several times. The service is very friendly and prompt and the food is great. The décor is retro and brings back childhood memories. Highly recommended.

A favorite place of mine in Rutland. I’ve never had a bad meal or poor service. I’ve made it a little mission to try something new every time I go. My all time favorite is their Pad Thai. I actually like their version better than any other version you can find in Rutland. I also have enjoyed Thai Curry and dishes that are more typical of a take out chinese type place. Everything has been delicious and has fun presentations when you dine in. Take out is quick and is a great option for a night when you’re on the run.

I’m an contractor. It means a great deal for me to find a good meal at least once a day. Tried this place twice and both times was very disappointed. The chicken dishes was totally blunt and elastic in nature ;). And the veggie(one coworker’s dish) was very stale(both times). The wait was long during dinner time. The prices are totally up into the sky for very low quality food. I’ll never go back.

We visited this place from out of town for a lunch. It’s pretty good. The Vietnamese fried rice is something very special. My only complaint is that it took a bit too long for us to get our orders as we were the only customers in the store.

I took the advice of the other reviewers here and had a very nice meal. Started with the vegetable roll. The outside was nice an crispy and the inside hot and a very good blend of veggies. The Hot and Sour soup was exceptional with the flavors blended perfectly. General Tsoa’s Tofu was excellent! The tofu was fried crispy on the outside and firm inside. The sauce was a nice blend of spicy and sweet. The plate was arranged and accented by the flower blossom/carrot and the greenery. A very pleasant presentation indeed! I ate here on a Sunday night and was the only patron in the place. That being said, there seemed to be a steady flow of take out orders leaving the kitchen. Service was very good and attentive, but again, I was the only one here! I’ll be back to sample some other dishes very soon.

Unfortunately I can’t agree with the reviews here on the food. Perhaps I made the mistake of ordering a dish that was supposed to be of Vietnamese origin and instead received something that had same brown oyster type sauce, diagonal cut rippled carrots and water chestnuts of most generic Chinese dishes. Maybe I visited on the chef’s night out. Whatever the circumstances, I don’t plan on returning to see if my experiences was just the equivalent of a bad one night stand. However, on the old school décor, I am in full concordance.

Dinner here while in town on a Green Mtn vacation earlier this week. Great old school Chinese restaurant. I love the décor in New Kong Chow Fusion. Evokes memories of a certain holiday film, «The Christmas Story.» The interior is very clean and kitchy(imo). Food was superb. We had a tangerine beef that was crispy on the outside and very moist. Broccoli in Garlic Sauce was deelish, and was more of a mixed vegetable dish. Very fresh ingredients, chased with some Long Trails of course. Glad that they offer brown rice. I enjoyed the starter bowl of wide fried noodles and sauce(again, vintage appeal ;)). Next time, I’ll indulge in the Vietnamese noodle bowls here. The staff was very friendly. Good takeout volume, but I think this place deserves a few more diners.

I stopped for lunch takeout at New Kong Chow Fusion in Downtown Rutland. This casual Chinese restaurant offers full service dining and takeout. The dining room has an old school atmosphere with finished wood walls/trim and rows of booths with plenty of red and green colors plus a TV in the corner. The menu consists of mostly Chinese dishes and specialties, plus a few Vietnamese dishes including lemongrass(chicken, pork, shrimp, beef), beef noodle, BBQ pork, and Vietnamese fried rice. 20 Luncheon Specials are also offered, served with rice(white or brown) and choice of appetizer or soup. Beer is also served here. See the menu and pricing at The place was pretty quiet when I arrived here and it took a couple minutes for someone to come out from the back kitchen to take my order. I ordered the Luncheon Special 17($ 6.25 plus tax): Pork LoMein with Brown Rice and Hot & Sour Soup, which was all set in about 12 minutes. The food I had was surprisingly excellent and everything tasted very fresh with great flavors and spices. The pork lo mein had a good balance and mix of firm noodles and fresh vegetables(sprouts, carrots, cabbage, onions, greens) and tender pork strips, lots of soy sauce. The brown rice was firm and light. The hot & sour soup was very spicy with vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, egg, and peppers, two thumbs up! This was definitely a great stop for lunch!
