Atmosphere: The atmosphere at Buddha is very nice and upscale. The lighting gives it a lounge type atmosphere so it’s a good place to go for a night out with friends or a date. Food: All of the dishes we ordered were very tasty. We got the vegetarian lettuce wraps, pan fried dumplings and garlic eggplant. Everything was very fresh and the service was good. Price: For the atmosphere and quality I feel the price is on par with what you get. We didn’t eat hibachi but the people that were seemed very entertained. Overall we will definitely come back again. I think Buddha is definitely underrated for what you get!

It’s always fun going to a hibachi place. What’s good about this place is they have a very extensive menu, so if half of your group wants hibachi you can do that and the rest can order from their menu. They have everything from sushi, to rolls, combo plates and teriyaki. There are limited hibachi stations so it’s best to make a reservation but specifically say it’s for the hibachi. Half our table ordered the hibachi and the other half ordered off the regular menu. There are different combos available for the hibachi depending on your price range. The chefs are entertaining and throw the food into your mouth to catch. Kids love the show as well.

Delicious, always fresh. I’ve only done takeout so I can’t speak on the inside service. Every time we order for pickup, the wait time is very minimal. Delivery is about 30 – 45 minutes, but that obviously varies.

Wife and I came here for our anniversary, and we loved it. The hibachi and sushi was really good. The ambiance was very nice too.

Went here a week ago for my sons birthday. Service was very good. We told the hibachi chef that our son had a small fear of the fire and he slowly did a few little fires to help my son feel safe. I really appreciate that he did that. He was kind and patient. Thank you so much to that chef.

Good, fresh sushi with nice, cold, crisp ginger salads make sitting on the right side of the restaurant a nice idea. The hibachi food is delicious and I enjoy going; however, I try to stay away on Friday or Saturday nights because it tends to be very noisy. The food has always been very fresh and the service is good. I would recommend this place if you are in the mood for good sushi or hibachi food.

Have never been to the restaurant, however after ordering take-out I have to say I am not impressed. I ordered the Cantonese shrimp chow fun and my husband ordered a couple sushi rolls. It took over an hour(& two phone calls) for them to deliver and once they did I realized the shrimp was way over cooked and the noodles were super bland. My husband said the sushi was good, but I will not be ordering a noodle dish from them any time soon.

Went to Buddha for lunch with a friend. Service mediocre. Wrong food orders brought to table. Soup served cold and tasted like dishwater Sent back. Meal served cold and sent back. Restaurant so dark it’s hard to see what you’re eating. Overall a poor disappointing meal all round. Ironically, their home delivery service is pretty good but I won’t be back to dine at this restaurant again.

Horrific service and horrific food. It’s like they rounded up all the Worst Cooks in America and put them to work there. The waitresses need severe retraining in basic customer service. I wish I could give them an imploding star.

Absolutely terrible service and the food is just mediocre. The waitress was very rude both times we went here and did not apologize after messing up the order. Watermoon is much better and is right down the road. I would never go back here.

Absolutely horrible food. Took my son for his bday. We sat on the restaurant side. He ordered hibachi & I ordered a side of scallops & side of fried rice. Food came out in abt 3 minutes. All cold. My scallops were not cooked. I wanted to send them back but our waitress was MIA. Never again. A total ripoff. $ 35 for my sons cold dinner.

Worst ever. We had a big party there for my daughter. They quoted us one price on the phone and then when we were already seated(and parents had left their kids in our care) they said it was a completely different price and gave us a hard time. They wouldn’t honor the price they gave us on the phone, and what was I supposed to do, have an incredibly embarrassing argument in front of my guests and some strangers? Get up and leave with 20 people already seated? We were trapped. So we agreed to stay but said the kids should only have certain items and this included only the drinks that were refillable, such as cokes. Well, we get the bill(which was a lot more than what they quoted in the phone!) and guess what, there were at least a dozen $ 4 Japanese sodas on there because they let the kids have whatever they wanted! The service was horrendous. They seated my husband and a few other(older) guests and I at a table far away from our daughter’s party room(which was ok) but as a result of that, they snuck those extra sodas and stuff to the kids after we said no. And they didn’t serve our dinner until about ½ hour after the kids started eating so the kids were done way before us; we missed the cake and singing happy birthday as a result AND we had to choke down our dinners just to finish in time to be out before the parents came to pick up their kids. The waitress had zero personality. The chef was ok but not nearly as fun as most hibachi chefs are noted for. He hardly interacted with us. The food was«ok»…we’ve had much better. But also, I should mention that they seated us near the loudest, most obnoxious party of young kids. It was ridiculous. We weren’t even sitting near our own party(which was well behaved) but we could barely speak to one another because this other party was SO damn loud! It was AWFUL. They had kids screaming and literally running around EVERYWHERE. A dinner at Chuck E Cheese would have been more enjoyable as far as atmosphere — no joke. So, back to the bill. I asked a friend who had a party there how much she paid for her daughter’s party. She had been quoted the same price on the phone that I was but they honored that price for her! But they would not do it for me! I called back the next day and asked to speak to the manager but he wasn’t in. Called again later, he still wasn’t there. Called the next day… not in. Called two days later, no manager. I was frustrated and they said he «just comes in on weekends». What the??? So I called back on the weekend and STILL he wasn’t in. Finally they wanted to know why I was calling and I told them. They said I was wrong about the original price, they didn’t know who quoted me they price but I was wrong! Uhm… no, I didn’t make it up. How would I have even KNOWN about that other price they offer? They said it was for certain ages but they NEVERSAIDTHATONTHEPHONEWHEN I MADETHERESERVATIONNORDIDTHEYEVERASKMYDAUGHTER’S AGE!!! I wouldn’t have booked the damn party if I didn’t get that price! I even told her about my friend getting that price for the same party. She tells me that this must have been«a mistake.» Then she says I waited too long to talk to her, that she could’ve adjusted the bill the night of the party, but no refund now. WHAT?!? First, the night of the party she said NO!!! That night she said she wouldn’t do it when I asked!!! Also, I wasn’t going to argue with her(she actually suggested that I should have done so) and made an uncomfortable scene in a crowded place in front of my daughter and her friends and their parents who were picking them up as we paid the bill and strangers waiting for tables. And furthermore, to suggest I waited too long??? I called almost every day for a week and asked for the manager and the owner who apparently are NEVERTHERE!!! I left my name and number and never got a call back. I STILL haven’t heard back. Lovely. So this place is shady and lame and scandalous and will cheat you. And by the way, one of the kids told her mom she had chicken that wasn’t fully cooked. So the food isn’t even all that. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. There are MUCH better hibachi places. Better food(food is bland compared to other local places), better service, better staff… and they won’t CHEAT you by lying and serving things to your guests you said not to. So shady. If this review keeps even one dinner group from going there, I’ll feel as though the extra money they scammed out of us will be redeemed. But if you do go, you’ve been warned, this place SUCKS.

Whoa! Talk about Buddha, he’s right there when you walk in! Or at least a giant statue sitting above a lovely little koi pond. The rest of the interior was very nice, though a little dark, especially for lunchtime. We were seated right away and our server was prompt in bringing our drinks and food. Not very personable but he did everything correctly and efficiently so I can’t complain much. My bf got a spicy salmon roll which I kid you not, came out in 90 seconds or less. He also got the General Tsao’s both of which he devoured while still leaving room to help me eat my yummy Thai basil chicken. It was less vegetable and broth based than other Thai basil dishes I’ve had but it still tasted great. All in all, a reasonably priced spot for lunch with tasty food.

Absolutely horrible. As if it wasn’t bad enough that I made reservations for 12 and had to wait 45 minutes for a table, take out stinks. After they’re done charging for everything, a dollar for brown rice rather than white(for each roll) another dollar for spicy mayo the rolls aren’t GOOD at all. Thank goodness for Red Plum they far surpass Buddha.

I have eaten here twice so far, and each time I had something different and both meals were really good. The side salad is just lettuce, but the house dressing is great! The prices are pretty reasonable and the service was always good. The soda from the fountain is not so great, but one can ask for a can of diet coke, which is perfect. The only drawback of the restaurant was the really dark dining room.

Really bad! We had the steak hibachi which I assume was fine. However, the salmon hibachi and the scallop hibachi were horrible. Completely overcooked. Don’t they know that seafood cooks for less time than other meats?! They came off the grill after the steak. Scallops only need to be seared. In addition, the guy dumped a whole bunch of what I think was teriyaki sauce on top of my scallops making they so salty that they were almost inedible! I can’t figure out how this place has the same rating as Edo in Port Chester at the time that I checked. Someone else got the eel bowl/dinner and that was bad as well. I don’t care if Chinese people run this ‘Japanese’ restaurant, but learn how to cook. Service was fine.

I had passed this place a few times while shopping in the Rye Brook plaza and always wanted to check it out. It looked like an awesome, upscale sushi place with waterfalls, Buddhists on the wall, and a very cozy ambiance. I ended up coming for lunch on a disgustingly rainy Tuesday so the place was pretty dead but I thought the food was good and I liked the ambiance, plus I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. For lunch I ended up going with 2 sushi rolls for $ 8.50-$ 9 which came with a miso soup or salad. They also had some awesome Thai options that looked rather tasty for about $ 10 or so. I ended up with a spicy yellowtail crunch roll and tuna avocado with extra spicy mayo and brown rice. Everything tasted fresh to me and I liked that the rolls weren’t jam packed with rice like some places do. The service was pretty quick, I was easily in and out within an hour. The waitress wasn’t super friendly, but it was lunch, so I was expecting and in/out type of situation. I can’t say too much as all I had was two rolls for lunch, but overall their menu has a lot of options, and it looked like they had a decent wine and cocktails menu too. I’d love to come back and try some Thai food. My office is about 10 minutes away, so I really have no reason not to!

The food was alright, my waitress looked like she hated her job. Never checked on my table. once I was done with my dinner she removed our plates and came back with our bill. Didn’t even ask if we were done or if we wanted dessert!(Which I did, that was the main reason I went in the first place) once she gave us the bill, I waited more than 10 mins for her to come back to ask for the dessert menu, still didn’t come back to us! Over all food was alright have had better and the service was horrible!

Just had delivery through GrubHub. I thought the food was pretty good. I would recommend it. The avocado sushi roll was great. There was a tempura roll which was also good. The cucumber roll was… OK. There was a mixed veggie roll in there as well, which was real good too. So many rolls… more on that later. Then I had the veggie dumplings which were great. And lastly, some miso soup. The soup was good and they gave like a big container full of it. Buddha’s menu is extensive. There are LOTS of options and plenty of choices for vegetarians. I think the only thing I’d say as a negative is that they require a $ 20 order minimum in order to do the GrubHub delivery. Part of that is balanced by the fact that there was no additional delivery charge, but the minimum forced me to order much more food than I needed. Leads to wasted food and over-eating. One other minor thing, they should’ve sent more soy sauce. With all those sushi rolls, the little cup of soy was not enough. I even used up the couple of extra packets they sent, but I still ran out of soy before my rolls were finished. It turned out OK, because I couldn’t eat anymore anyway. But still, I would suggest they err on the side of providing some extra soy sauce. What does that cost… 25 cents? The delivery was super fast. Probably… like 25 minutes or less. It worked out really perfectly for me in terms of timing. I don’t know why they estimated the delivery would be 1 hour up front, though. I think I’ll be ordering from Buddha again.
