I went to Jillson’s for«Maine Maple Sunday» which also happened to coincide with Easter. They offer an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 8:00am-11:00am on the weekends, but with the double holiday, they were doing a buffet all day. With in-laws and husband in tow, we stopped in to see what all the fuss was about. We stood in the 37 degree temps for near an hour waiting to get in(they had a local guitarist playing for everyone’s entertainment while waiting). The cost was $ 12.00 and there are maybe ten tables(that seat 4 – 6 people), so the line was slow-moving, but the staff was pleasant and sweet. The food was, perhaps a little under-whelming(no bacon or French toast, which I wanted on a Maine Maple Sunday!) but not remotely unpleasant. They had pancakes, scrambled eggs, potatoes, corned beef hash and sausage patties. I think the hash was canned, but I can’t say for certain. The sausage patties were very uniform, so I have to assume those are frozen. I didn’t mind that so much because at least my $ 12.00 is going towards funding a local farm. We toured the grounds for a bit, meeting some miniature ponies, two oxen and a horse. We got to see the maple syrup process and browse some of their maple products(maple coffee, maple kettle corn, maple butter, maple cotton candy, maple syrup, etc.). It was a nice little outing on Easter Sunday for sure.

Awesome produce with picture perfect summer squash, zucchini, tomatoes, greens and(right now) strawberries! Pickles, jams ice cream, local meat and butter also available. The store is just a minute off sabatttus st and well worth the detour!

I love this place and have to visit at least once whenever I’m in Lewiston visiting my mom. Great fresh produce, salad mustard pickles to die for and the best maple ice cream around! Sweet people and great food.

Ice cream texture isn’t perfect, but they have true maple, not maple walnut, and the flavoring is exquisite, 8⁄07
