This place is worth more than five stars. Friendly owner and staff, great food and reasonable prices! Gluten free, non-GMO, local food; can’t ask for better. Try the lemonades! We stumbled on this place driving through town and so glad we did. Next time we’re up in Maine, we will gladly come back!

Excellent Sandwiches and selection. All natural and local meats and veggies. Friendly staff. Amazing coffee and drink selections. And even better cookies. My personal favorite sandwich is «My Cousin Vinny.»

I have NEVER had a bad experience here! The food is SOFRESH, SODELICIOUS, service is always excellent and everyone there is super nice. I force myself to try to get something different every time I go there for lunch, and have never been left wanting. The prices for their food is great, sandwiches are large and the iced coffee is fantastically flavorful. The Saco Island Deli is a true hidden gem!

Best sandwiches, soups and salads in Saco/Biddeford. Beautiful store. Call ahead for your sandwich or salad. Lunchtime is busy!

This place is fantastic… Their ingredient parings are phenomenal! I come through this area every couple of months on business and it’s a must stop. Try it — it’s fresh and has that farm to table kind of feel about the food.

I decided to give Saco Island Deli a try for lunch today, boy am I glad I did! I called it in in advance, as I had heard they get pretty busy. The panini’s were delicious! We tried Eve’s Apple Panini and MJ’s Panini, while both were great, I favored the Eve’s Apple Panini. The service was also something you just don’t see much of these days. I was greeted with a friendly smile and pleasant conversation. Thank you for the warm welcome, we’ll definitely be back!

Food is pretty good but I’ve been there 3 times and every time they don’t have something I want in stock. Over priced as well.

So yes maybe not to easy to see the sign but the food… so amazing. We shared the vermont and the Mainah… sooo good and fresh… We also were lucky to get some Corn Chowder before it ran out. I will be back bext Wednesday for more Corn Chowder… After we took our time strolling around The Mill business and walked over the new bridge… it made for a nice day… thanks Saco Deli… i will be back soon and often

Delicious sandwiches and a great selection of local beverages. I highly recommend the Mainah(love that New England accent!) The staff was extremely cordial and helpful, even wiped down the high chair before bringing it to our table! We’ll definitely be back.

My first time at the Saco Island Deli was terrific. I got a Pesto Chicken Panini and a Vermonter to go, and they were both delicious. Saco Island Deli is a good place to stop for lunch but it’s not the easiest place to find until you know where it is, but after you’ve been there once you’ll have no trouble finding it again. It’s small enough inside that it probably gets full on busy days. As of this writing, Saco Island Deli is open Monday — Friday, 8AM — 4PM and they’ve started serving breakfast from 8 to 11. The people working there were friendly, the deli is nicely decorated, and everything I saw looked delicious. I’m looking forward to going back sometime soon.

I’ve heard great things about this place and adding the reviews I was pretty excited to see what all the excitement is about. I am greeted by an extremely friendly lady. We order our sandwiches, I got the Turkey Roo-ben, my cousin The Mainah. We choose to eat there because it was a rainy gross day and we had no where else to go. We waited, and the lady who took our order was kind enough to bring it to our table. First look, the sandwiches are very large and look AMAZING. I had to take a picture… so I did. =) First bite in, SO good. A large amount of turkey, a good thick slice of bread. It was a good quality rye bread because the bread did not fall apart while I picked it up, put it down while eating it. Saco Island Deli does not skimp on anything. I just have a personal preference on how I like my sandwiches, so it isn’t their fault. But, with the turkey rooben is supposed to be a ‘special’ slaw. It looked like just a regular mayo-based slaw, which was fine by me. The slaw coupled with the dressing while eating the sandwich made me feel a little overwhelemed because I am not a fan of creamy anything so I thought there was just too much ‘sauce.’ Also, the sandwich could have stayed on the flat top just a TOUCH longer because the center of my sliced turkey was still a little cool, and the swiss cheese wasn’t really melted. Next time I order it I’ll either have them switch up the slaw with just kraut, because I like kraut and it’ll be a perfect sandwich for me. My cousins Mainah sandwich was probably one of the biggest sandwiches I’ve ever seen. It was a big crusty roll/sub bread stuffed with a lot of chicken, romaine, and a sauce. She loved it and could only eat half. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. I want to try out the rest of their menu. It’s hard to find places here where they make different styles of sandwiches. It’s refreshing for me and it’s something I really do need in my food loving life. Service was super friendly, the guy that made my sandwich asked about our sandwiches and was easy to talk to and it’s an environment I want to be back in again. They play Bob Marley as background music.

After moving to Maine from New York City, I was sure that I would never, EVER find a decent sandwich, hero, hoagie, sub, grinder or what-not again. Other deli proprietors take notice: two slices of turkey + half the salad bar + italian dressing on an extra-long hot dog bun does not qualify as a sandwich where I come from. Just when all hope seemed lost, I ate lunch at the Saco Island Deli. Given my background, there was no way I could order anything other than the Jersey Joe at my first visit. WHAT A SANDWICH!!! Despite it’s enormous size, it can be consumed in one sitting. Follow-up visits to try the turkey reuben and corn-beef reuben also did not disappoint. The owner is great and very friendly and it is nice to see that so many of the ingredients are organic and locally grown. Do not miss this place! I Will happily be returning soon.
